The Woodhouse Day Spa

I received a gift certificate for an agave nectar mani and pedi for Christmas. I had never heard of woodhouse day spa prior to my gift and I live only minutes away! The spa is beautiful and the complimentary mimosa was an awesome surprise.
I couldn’t be happier with the job that Cheyenne did! She was very professional, paid close attention to the details of my nails, and was lovely to talk to!
I’ll definitely be returning and bringing some friends with me!

I have been to many day spas in many cities and have had all kinds of services. I would have to say this one is about average or maybe a little higher than average. The prices are a bit high but it’s Denver so I have come to expect higher prices for everything. I received a gift certificate and it almost covered the facial service I had.
The setting is lovely; it is in an old Victorian style house in uptown. I lucked out and found a parking spot right up the street, so be forewarned you may have to search a bit because parking is at a premium, also typical for the city. Upon arrival, you get checked in and escorted upstairs to the changing room that has lockers, a separate dressing area if you need it, and a restroom. You’re given a nice robe (pretty standard) and plastic flip flops (did not like these, I prefer the comfy terry cloth slippers unless I“m getting a pedi). You’re offered a mimosa or water and I believe there are snacks in the waiting area as well.
You then go to the relaxation room which is a large, furnished parlor of sorts, where you wait for your appointment. It was kind of crowded and every seat was taken.
I had a microdermabrasion facial and the aesthetician was very careful to ask me if the pressure was OK, or if the abrasion was too harsh. My skin glowed after it was over and I didn’t want it to end. She also massaged my neck and shoulders which I desperately needed.
I did make another appointment to go back for another facial in about 5 weeks, because I enjoyed the service itself, and the staff is very friendly, but just not sure if the cost is comparable to other spas, so I may have to continue to look around.
All in all though, a pleasant experience, but not spectacular in my opinion.

My husband and I went here for New Years Eve since we received a gift card and wow it was amazing. We live nearby and everything about the Woodhouse Day Spa was exceptional. We began by offered wine, which we accepted, and then the robes (where can I buy one of those!!), you then sit in a room while you wait for your massage. This room offers snacks, tea, water and a quiet place to talk or read. Once you are called for your massage the real magic begins… the bed you lay on is quite possibly a cloud of comfiness… seriously… you will dread the moment you realize those minutes ticked by as quick as they did. I def recommend the a longer session– as the 50 minutes is more like 5 in my mind haha. The massage was one of the best massages I have ever had and dont be quiet about what kind of firmness you like– if you complain it was too rough or too light that is your own fault for keeping your mouth closed. SO SPEAK UP! And relax and enjoy. It wont be your last visit.

This place is the perfect mix of relaxation, quaintness but still feels very high end. The claw foot bathtub is decadent. My massage was perfectly executed. I prefer more relaxing massages and yet most still run too hard and isn’t relaxing at all. My masseuse was perfection! It was well decorated but the amenities were still modern. My aall time favorites are facials and this one was by far in my top three. I didn’t feel rushed, the products were good and she was more attentive then most as opposed to just slopping one lotion after another and the always painful, yet highly appreciated, blackhead work over.

The location is very cute, especially if you love historic buildings and want more that type of experience. However, I think the services are a bit overpriced for what they are. I’ve definitely seen more relaxing massage rooms — even at Massage Envy! As for the body wrap, it was my first and a neat, short moment, yet I didn’t feel extremely different (softer) afterwards. Although the staff was super friendly and engaging, I don’t this place is worth the money.

About 8 years ago I got a gift certificate to Woodhouse, and have been back multiple times per year since. Anytime I really feel like I need to indulge and treat myself, Woodhouse is the first thing to pop in my mind.
Making appointments is easy, either by phone or via their online system. Considering their location on 17^th Ave, it is actually always really easy to do street parking. I’ve never had any issue. They have a great selection of different types of massages and facials, and will also customize if you have specific needs. I don’t have a regular masseuse that I go to, but I have never had a bad one! They all pay attention to detail, make sure they know exactly what you want, check in with you during the massage (but not too much) and all seem to have a knack for taking care of those tricky knots and such.
The service overall is really positive and friendly. They take good care of you, from offering wine, champagne, coffee, tea, or water upon checking in, snacks and infused water in the waiting room, and a small but well maintained and luxurious feeling locker room/​lounge for changing before and after appointments.
I’ll definitely be back for more services this year! Love the Woodhouse!

I’ve never been that into massages… I mean obviously they are great but JESUS works here under the guise of Anthony. Everything he did to me was magic! I would recommend this spa massage to everyone! Truly amazing!

Don’t waste your time nor your boyfriends money. Their relaxation room is more like a library with old furniture. come on for as much are you charge for services you could at least have glass instead of plastic cups for tea or water. massage was great although not sure if it was 80min since there are no clocks in the room, facial meh bunch of creams rubbed on my face, 3 measly extractions for $ 130 I don’t think so. And finally harassed at the end to provide a credit card that I didn’t have since my boyfriend booked the appointment. I’d rather spend $ 200 at a Vegas spa!

Absolutely amazing! Be sure to try the warm spiced mud wrap. Fabulous! Great prices too.

Nightmare. I got my eye brows waxed and the lady literally took off half of my eye brow. Usually your esthetician shows you your brows after she’s finished waxing — she didn’t. Plus the room was stuffy from, what my esthetician told me, the previous appointment… Ew. She opened the window and continued her service with my facial. Very mediocre. I went home and looked in the mirror and saw the hack job. I’m not one to call and complain but my brows were so horrible that I had to call the spa. They offered me a 15% discount for my next service… That was about 6 months ago and they still haven’t grown back. To this day I am still so upset and appalled. Beware.

Quaint and cozy spa. Friendly staff. Clean facility. Attentive service. Nice amenities. Would go back again and again. Other suggestion would be more toiletries in the shower /​locker room area (I.E Lotion)

I got a call last evening from Christina at Woodhouse. I’m not sure if it was in response to my review or just late follow up. Anyway, she was very apologetic and offered to recreate the experience (on the house) to make up for the mix-​up! Thank you for the generous offer to make a frustrating experience right! That’s the kind of above and beyond response that will keep me coming back and recommending Woodhouse.

First, I must admit I haven’t been to many spas, so I don’t have much to compare Woodhouse Day Spa to.
That being said, I had a fantastic experience here and felt completely comfortable as a spa newbie. The house itself is beautiful and has a wonderful feel to it. The robes are so comfortable I actually noted the brand and might even order one for myself!
I had an 80 minute hot stone massage with May. She was extremely friendly and the massage itself was incredible. So good, in fact, that I’ve already booked a hot stone massage for next month at a spa in Philly! I followed the massage with the signature pedicure, which was easily the best pedicure I’ve had. I certainly hope to return to this place the next time I visit Denver!

Cons: Overpriced; I went in for an eyebrow wax and ended up having to pluck a lot of missed hairs once I got home. For this price, they should have been cleaned up better.

My love took me to Woodhouse Day Spa yesterday for a wonderful morning of relaxation for my Birthday. We had an 80 minute couples massage upstairs and it was incredible. Gina did a wonderful job with my deep tissue massage. I felt completely relaxed and the room was picturesque as the snow was falling outside the cute windows. I was completely relaxed and bummed when our 80 minutes came to an end.
We then had sugar scrub pedicures downstairs and Nickie and Meagan were great!
Love love love all of the amenities and beautiful, creative spaces.
We live on 17^th and I am so excited to have this gem in our neighborhood.
Wish we could come everyday, but will surely be back for special occasions…

Truly a 5-​star experience every time… Atmosphere, historic home, music, temperature, décor, staff. An awesome place to de-​stress and escape! Recommend Kristy for deep tissue, and ask for very top room with the clawfoot tub :)

My boyfriend got me a gift card to the wood house spa for our anniversary. After reading some of the previous reviews I was concerned i wasn’t going to have friendly relaxing experience.
I went for my facial today and received great service. I was warmly greeted and offered champagne. They escorted me to a room to change and lock away my belongings. After changing into a robe, I relaxed in the quiet room and sipped my drink.
I had Tami for a facial who I really enjoyed. I am a licensed cosmetologist and currently am a hairstylist. I do regular facials at my salon and am pretty knowledgeable in what to expect. Tami exceeded my expectations. She was friendly, easy to talk to, and had a gentle touch. My skin looks and feels great. I highly recommend Tami, and the woodhouse spa for anyone looking for a cozy relaxing day.

I LEFT THIS PLACE WITH A BLOODY CHEEK AFTER A FACIAL!!!
This was hands down the worst spa experience I’ve ever had — and I get spa treatments on a monthly basis. I wanted it to be wonderful and worth the hundreds my husband spent on the spa package, but there were a couple of things that happened that made it impossible for me to give it more than one star.
When I arrived, the ambiance of the spa was lovely and the changing room was nice. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly, but I didn’t really need them to be in order to enjoy myself. Once I was in my spa robe, I sat in a very nice waiting area and sipped ice water before my massage.
The massage itself was very relaxing and the therapist was sweet and skilled. After the massage, I was met with an esthetician for a facial. Here’s where things started to go awry.
She was very nice and engaging, but I told her that I have sensitive skin and that it felt like my cheek was burning at one point while she was exfoliating and pretty consistently thereafter. When I got to the changing room, my cheek was very red and looked like a rash was breaking out, but I figured it would be fine.
Then I went to pay with my gift certificate. When I booked the appointment I told them I had a gift certificate for a package with gratuity included. The gift certificate was a month old. The woman at the front desk did not honor the price of the package on the gift certificate and charged me an elevated rate for the facial and massage. When I asked her about it, she said that they had raised prices and the price of the package my husband had paid for was no longer valid (I think he had paid $ 200 for an hour massage, an hour facial and gratuity). Of course, I wasn’t going to stiff the therapists on their tips because the front desk staff was being shady, so I shelled out some more cash to make sure they each got a 20% tip.
To top off my experience, I get to my car and my cheek hurts so badly that I pull down the mirror to see that I am BLEEDING in a patch about the size of a half dollar that looks like it’s been pricked with a thousand needles and is oozing blood all over the place. Just to clarify, I did not have any extractions nor do I have pimples or blackheads on my cheeks that could bleed after treatment. This was just clear skin to begin with.
After my experience with the terrible front desk staff, I doubted I would get anywhere with complaining about my bloody cheek. Instead, I speed a week and a half swabbing my «Spa Injury» with Neosporin and telling all of my friends to take their spa business elsewhere.

When I have the $$ for a treat, this is the place I go. I love the atmosphere of the spa and building. I’ve never had a bad massage here! Hot Stone is my absolute favorite.

I received a gift certificate for services at the spa and was greatly excited to go. My six-​year-​old daughter asked me if I could take her to get a pedicure and we made an afternoon date this is what we experienced.

Here is what happened: we arrived early the appointment and immediately felt unwelcome and in a very uncomfortable environment. They called us back 10 minutes late for appointment. The technician who worked on my pedicure was nothing short of annoyed or bothered by me trying to make conversation with her and was like talking to a bag of rocks. The technician worked with my daughter was a bit more personable but when we were finished my daughter stopped me and asked «how come the lady that worked on my feet didn’t talk to me and the other lady kept rolling her eyes» this coming out of the mouth of a six-​year-​old was really appalling. When I was done my French manicure was chipped and not even and my daughter was disappointed and felt like ladies were rude to her.
I wrote a letter to the establishment expressing my concerns. The manager responded to me by arguing that her technicians were not rude and did the best job that they could and invited me to come back to fix my French polish or refund of the $ 10 fee for the addition.
My daughters pedicure cost $ 65. I certainly would never step foot in this place ever again and feel that when you reach out with a compliant it is bad business to argue with a customer and brush off their complaints.
After working in service industry for 15 years and knowing that the customer is the bottom line… if I were on the other end of receiving this complaint I would’ve offered a full refund. Instead the manager dismissed my complaints.

This is my favorite spa in Denver. Placed in an old Victorian there are 3 floors of pampering. I have received most services at the Woodhouse Day Spa. My favorite is the deep tissue massage with a head scalp message upgrade and the microdermabrasion facial with the vitamin c upgrade. Free glass of wine or champagne adds to the experience. The service is top notch and the ambiance is relaxing.
They are usually able to get me in short notice but I try to make appointments to get my favorite masseuse and esthetician. My only complaint is that it is pricey and they rarely run specials. There is no real advantage to being a «regular.»
