Our go-​to place for Mexican food. Incredibly good caldo de pollo. The best enchilada sauce I have ever tasted. Wicked good posole. Super nice staff. Huge portions. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Portions are huge and priced very well. Their homemade chips and salsa are excellent. I asked if they could make a chimichanga with the Feo Sauce (roasted jalapeños and tomato diced up) mentioned elsewhere on the menu. Spicy, but so freakin’ delicious! Gets pretty busy the closer you get to lunch time so plan ahead! This is my go to for sit down Mexican on the North side of Denver.

This is one of my favorite Mexican eats! There is something for everyone here. They even have breakfast and a seafood menu. good chilli not too hot, not too mild. I recommend the cheese enchiladas and egg plate (Over easy). The restaurant inside is not the nicest but the food and staff defiantly make up for it.

We tried Tia Maria’s on a Friday night. I was concerned about a long wait and the neighborhood, but there was no wait, and no problems outside. The parking lot was spotless! I think that speaks well for a place. Inside was clean, the servers did a good job, and we enjoyed ourselves.
I always have to try a relleno. Theirs is fried in a wonton wrapper and didn’t have any flavor at all. I ate it all but wouldn’t order it again. Nachos were just beans and cheese on chips, no meat. The salsa was good and they kept it filled. They also refilled the chips and didn’t charge us extra. I had a chimichanga, not fried very crispy, but still tasty. they don’t have heat variations on the green chili — it was too mild for me and slightly salty. My husband had #48 which was sliced chicken breast cooked with jalapenos, onions, and tomatoes, and absolutely loved every bite. The helpings are generous. We had a nice time and would go back, even though it is expensive. For two of us, he had one beer and we both had water, our bill was almost $ 50. We’ll probably try breakfast or lunch next time.

Soooo. the breakfast is awesome here huge portions. green chili is great definitely will not leave hungry.. the pancakes are huge and delicious…

Eh not impressed with this restaurant. It wasn’t horrible but didn’t meet my expectations of authentic mexican food. My fiancé’s Chile relleno was burnt he still ate it though, I would of sent it back. Service was mediocre and took forever to be served and for the ticket. Food was overpriced for sure, I won’t go back & wouldn’t recommend dinning here.

Great Mexican food, I eat vegetarian so I always get the Bean burrito, chips & salsa, and a cold glass of beer (they rim the glass with salt). yum!

Everything here is good. Love their guacamole! Veggie fajitas are outstanding, and the chips and salsa are yummy too. Service is great, and I always feel welcome!

This is out go to Mexican restaurant. Best green chili sauce I’ve had in Denver. Food is fast fresh and really good. Doesn’t hurt that you can get out of their for about $ 25 for two people. If you haven’t tried this place your missing out.

So yummy ! Best Mexican food I’ve ever had in Colorado! I will be back for sure. We orders loads of menu items I had a bite of most of it and all of it was very tasty!

Tia Maria is far and away the best Mexican food in Denver. Their chicken fajitas keep us returning time and time again. They also have the BEST Broncos (orange) margaritas! We have come here for many years and NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is very friendly and values their customers and the quality of their food greatly and equally.

We came here on vacation from Indiana. Very good food, great service. The chips & salsa was very tasty, my margaritas were perfect. I had the Pollo Abodaba (because I wanted the potatoes!) and I was not disappointed. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The boyfriend had tampeiquina (sp?) and was just as impressed with his dish as I was. If we lived here we’d come back again.

Tia Maria’s is a staple of my workplace, which is nearby. Their green chili is what their best known which is how you would want great green chili to taste. Today, I got pickup on my lunch break and had the carnitas tacos. The tortillas are lightly fried to give it a soft but crispy texture. The tortilla does not fall apart. Their house salsa is something I would gladly sip on straight. The service is great at this family run joint. They have made an effort to know my and my wife’s name and always accommodate her gluten allergy.

Awesome and authentic! The place looks a bit daunting from the outside — but most great places do! Inside you find a genuine Mexican restaurant with a hard working staff making some of the best Mexican cuisine in the metro area. Plenty of space, friendly and fast service. Large menu selection. Check it out!

We went to this place based on the Unilocal reviews it had and I’m glad I did. The chips and salsa were great and so was the food. Our drinks were barely empty. My husband had these shrimp wrapped in bacon, stuffed with cheese. PHENOM. Then I had the Tacos de Carnitas, which were SOOOOOOOO amazing. I loved it. Our server came by toward the end of our meal and asked us if we had been in here before. We told her no and that we came in because of Unilocal.She was happy to hear it and «Welcomed us to the Family!»
We will certainly return and bring more people with us. Great food and great service. An overall great experience. We’ll be back.

Salsa Feo is definitely worth the trip.

We are originally from Denver, but for decades we have lived in Houston. The only thing we don, t miss in Denver is Mexican food. But FINALLY we came across Tia Maria’s! We both had the best chile rellenos that we have had in years: spicy, large poblanos filled with queso Oaxaca and beautifully fried. The batter was not thick and gummy or greasy. The green chile sauce was spicy and flavorful.
The rest of the menu calls us back. The server said the owners are from Zacatecas, so there is a authentic tradition behind the operation.
Can’t wait to return for Posole, carnitas and breakfast!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the whole metro area. They recognize me when I come in and are always friendly. The Green Hornitas margaritas are to die for. Strong, not too sweet just all around perfection. I’ve yet to have a dish here I didn’t like.
Next time you are carving Mexican head to Tia Maria’s!
