Toby Reschke

I’m moving to Denver from out of state and I was working with Toby to find a rental home suitable to my needs.
I found a beautiful home online that his real estate company was managing. Perfect! Made an appointment to view it as soon as possible.
10 am: Toby showed up in workout clothes and admitted to have just left the gym — a little unprofessional, but whatever — I was there to check out the house. We ended up loving it and asked him what our next step was? Can we fill out an application? Yeah! What’s the process of picking? He said «first come, first serve — if approved». Awesome! I knew that we were the first ones to see this house! He said that the apps take 24 hours to be processed so we should know the outcome by tomorrow. YAY! So we asked for applications, but he didn’t have them on him. great… So he said he would email them to me right then as I walked out the door.
Noon: Still hadn’t recieved anything from Toby — wtf? My phone is dying trying to check my mail every 5 seconds. So I call him to ask when can I expect to recieve this email? No answer. So then I texted him and asked when could I expect his email? He replied: I got caught up and woul dsend it in about an hour.
2 pm: Two hours later — still no email from Toby. Called him again. No answer. Texted him again. nothing.
3 pm: Called Toby again to see when I would be recieving the email. No answer. Then he finally called me back to inform me that he emailed me the application.
5 pm: Dropped off the checks and applications to his office. I texted him to confirm that we dropped off the money and confirm he got our applications via email.
SUNDAY:
2:30pm: Texted Toby to see when should we expect to hear back from him about the applications — no response
6:30 pm: Called Toby — it had been officially 26 hours since we emailed the applications. We were stressing — moving from out of state we only had a limited time to get a house secured. Toby didn’t answer.
9:00pm: Texted Toby to check on the status — nothing
MONDAY:
2 pm: Texted Toby about the applications — now it had been almost 48 hours. He finally texted me back saying that he should know tomorrow
Ohhhhh so it doesn’t take 24 hours for the process? UGH frustrating.
So now I’m driving home with no living arrangements secured, because we didn’t want to apply to any houses without hearing back from this one.
TUESDAY:
11:30 am: Called Toby — no answer
Noon: Texted Toby to see about the status — he said he would get back to me quickly
3:00 pm: The owner picked another renter for the house. When I asked why — he wasn’t sure becuase we passed everything — apparently the owners just preferred a different tenant.
Which is fine. I’m okay with that.
What I’m not okay with is that he told us it was first come first serve. LIE. He told us he would get back with us in 24 hours. LIE. He was extremely unprofessional and extremely frustrating to work with.
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HIM.

I found Toby on Unilocal and was interested in meeting him to start looking for my first investment property. It mentioned on his Unilocal profile that he has some experience in flipping homes and that is exactly what I was interested in doing. I reached out to Toby and he was extremely receptive and was able to meet with me quickly. At our meeting, we discussed prime real estate areas that would be perfect for investing and or short term rentals. I was impressed with how well he knew the Denver areas and real estate market. I am excited to have found a real estate agent in this competitive market that knows exactly what I am looking for! Now we are off to find the perfect property!
