Vigil Handyman Services

It’s frustrating to call firms that do not reply to your request for service. Over the past few days, I have called Virgil Handyman Services twice and got no reply after leaving voicemails. Perhaps they do very good work, but we will never know if they don’t even respond. My guess is that if they don’t care enough to respond, they don’t care enough about you as a customer.
The most common response to a situation like this is either «I never got your messages», or «I called you back and you weren’t there.»

Sonny has been such a help with plumbing issues at my house. He came over to fix a leaky faucet and discovered that the water shut off valve also needed replacing. Since he knew I was on a tight budget, he explained how I could do it my self and told me what part I needed. He said he could do it and charge me for the labor, but there was no reason I couldn’t do it myself.
I also had an issue where the pilot light on my water heater went out and I was nervous about lighting it back up (its an old unit). I called him and he came over to help free of charge.
He helped me replace my leaky faucet too, and was helpful in picking out the best new faucet.
I will definitely continue to use him in the future. Honest, helpful, and knows his stuff!

Sonny, the owner of Vigil HandyMan Services, came over the same day I called. My job was super small, installing a hot and cold water hose bib in my garage.
Sonny looked at the job and gave me a fair price. It actually happened that Sonny had enough time to do the job right away. (That’s how small the job was)
Sonny was efficient, tidy, and did a good job. I am very happy.
Sonny is a hard worker, has a good attitude, and will talk with you while working. Unlike some other handymen who are kinda stand off-​ish.
I will be hiring Sonny again to do other small jobs around the house.

First, don’t pay any attention to the negative review. They must have Sonny confused with somebody else.
I just moved and needed help with after-​moving stuff. I found Sonny Vigil on the internet, reviewed what people said about him and from my vantage point as a real estate broker and small business owner, picked him out of the crowd. I wanted somebody I could trust and somebody I could recommend to my clients if they need a referral. The regular handyman I had used over the years had gone out of business.
Sonny put together a HomeStyles portable kitchen island for me. The package alone weighed 115 pounds. No way could I have put this together myself. He struggled with it, found a few problems with the instructions (what else is new?), showed me the problems along the way, and together we decided on simple fixes that would make it work. And work he did. He did a fabulous job.
He also hung a very heavy mirror exactly where I wanted it, fastened it with a gorilla wall molly that he supplied (I had my own hanger, but he preferred his own that he knew would work). Measured and marked everything and made sure it was level. Perfect job!
He fastened storage units to the inside of cupboard doors so that I had a place to put wax paper/​plastic wrap/​aluminum foil in one and pan and pot lids in another. Made sure everything fit. Did a great job.
He moved a heavy file cabinet so I could reach my shredder. Then he cleaned up everything, carried the trash out to the trash dumpster and brought up the shipping manifest for the kitchen island that I had forgotten to take from the package .
All these things were household fixes beyond my reach. He did every bit the job I was hoping for and charged me a reasonable fee after eyeballing the job when he got here. He brought his wife along (it was Sunday) and we chatted about a lot of things we had in common all the while Sonny worked. I was thrilled with his work.
I would hire Sonny again in a New York minute, and would recommend him to anyone.

We hired Vigil’s Handyman Service to do drywall texturing and painting to repair flood damage in our basement. As well, they repaired our soffit and gutter trim outside.
The work was excellent, done timely. The charges were very reasonable. We will hire Vigil’s again in the near future for some electrical work. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

Worst handyman ever! This guy came in to repair my drywall and fix a leak near the side of my tub. He used MY materials on the tub, didn’t complete the drywall repair (left it mudded but not sanded or texturized)…AND THE TUB IS STILL LEAKING! WAY overcharged for a shitty job. I have been dupped.
