Description

Specialties

The Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery, the Southern Sun Pub and Brewery and the Vine Street Pub are a family of unpretentious neighborhood gathering places.

At each of our pubs, our mission is to offer five-star service, fresh, high quality pub fare and finely crafted brews for affordable prices in an environment that’s comfortable like your living room. There will never be televisions at our pubs because we want our guests to meet and discuss the world in which we live or simply to play Scrabble.

Our beers have won medals across the globe, including six gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, the world’s largest beer festival. And over the years, our brew pubs have consistently been voted the best in Boulder and Denver in the local media.

PLEASE NOTE: Vine Street Pub will be CLOSED for the Holidays: Dec. 24, 25, 31 & 11.

Happy Holidays!

History

Established in 2008.

Established in 1993

The Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery opened its doors on Pearl Street in October of 1993. As corporations and concept restaurants swamped the famous Pearl Street walking mall, Boulder needed a community-based neighborhood pub.

Using the same unique business philosophies and concepts that made the Mountain Sun a Boulder institution, the Southern Sun, a much larger version of the original pub, opened in south Boulder in September, 2002 boasting a living room, an expansive patio and a much larger seating capacity.

Six years later, in April, 2008, the Mountain Sun group took its concept to the Uptown neighborhood of Denver, opening the Vine Street Pub. It’s here in the near future that plans are in place to build the flagship brewery of the company. As was the case in Boulder, the surrounding neighborhoods embraced the pub immediately, naming it Denver’s best brewpub in its first year in Westword Magazine.

Meet the Business Owner

Kevin D.

Business Owner

After college, Kevin Daly toured the country behind the Grateful Dead, selling burritos outside of concerts and learning business from the ground up. After a year on the road, he enrolled in Lewis and Clark Law School. It soon became clear to Kevin that law wasn’t his calling, and he decided to drop out. During his last semester of law school, he frequented the Fulton Pub, a McMenamin’s brewpub in Portland, OR. While debating his future over pints of micro-brewed beer – at the time a new phenomenon sparked in the Pacific Northwest – Kevin developed a love for craft beers as he simultaneously realized the intangible importance of community gathering spaces like the Fulton Pub. It was at the Fulton Pub that Kevin decided to move to Boulder, CO to open his own brewpub. Drawing on his love of live music, simple great food, and well-crafted beers that he developed touring the country behind the Grateful Dead, Kevin founded the Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery in 1993.
