X BAR

Great bar. It’s in an decent location and easy to get too. In the middle of some other good bars if yoy like to hop around. The bar tenders are pretty cool. Better once you get to know them. So all in all good. I will agree with others that it gives a odd vibe since it’s not a club but still trys to offer that feel. But that said that’s why I like it. It’s not a club. But still has an up beat fun atmosphere where you can have fun. With an outdoor patio, second indoor area when busy and occasional events, game nights, etc, it will provide you with a fun night! I mean for being a Gay bar on Colfax you can’t expect to have a Aspen luxury experience. But you can expect to have fun with friends and evem make some new friends! Plus who doesn’t like a Pink Flamingo on Pride? ;-)

John & I went on a Monday night, so it was fairly «dead.» However, the atmosphere, music, security man, and bartender Justin were all a welcomed change from the universally standard bitchy gay bar scene. Thank God.

Xbar is THE best place to meet good people without dealing w the club scene! The owners and the staff make it so welcoming. I’m not the typical guy to come here but if you want to get and give complements and dance your ass

Super. What a fun spot on Colfax! Normally not my type of bar, but we were in town and hooked up with some of Wifle’s friends. We were some of the first to arrive and was a tad overly flamboyant. Still got some beer for me and a mixed drink for Wifle. Damn. If I wasn’t driving that night, I would have opted for the mixed drink. Long count pours and a multitude of servers and styles.
We went out back as there was no need for the dancefloor or the cage. So many different people here. No judgements anywhere.
A few large groups and some weird folks, but it was awesome. I was not a fan of the plastic pint glasses, but I know that they break when they are real glass.
I will be back. This bar is similar to The Max in Omaha and I really like the vibe

X bar is where all the bad things happen.
For instance, your straight female coworker will probably make out with all the women, you will find yourself grinding on the bars of the cage you’re dancing in, your best friend is probably crying on the back patio, you def aren’t paying for any of these whiskies but they just keep appearing, someone just grabbed your crotch, a girl puked on your shoe, your friends are slapping each other then hugging and you’ve only been here for about 45 minutes.
Always a good time, always a bit scary.

While Your customers stand in line and are ignored for a long time is when they decided to leave! Especially because attention is paid to young people who are friends of the staff while your paying customers who are thirsty wait… just saying prioritize

I lost my phone for the first time in 14 years of owning a cell phone. I contacted lyft, the driver decided that he needed $ 20 to come to give me my cell phone. Fine. I have $ 10 cash on my person. I ask the bartender to charge an additional amount to my card to pay for the additional $ 10 fee. She says, «there is an ATM right there» I say fine and go over to it. Some time passes and I am waiting outside with my money in hand to get my phone back, talking to the bouncers. The Lyft shows up, I pay him, I get my phone back and then immediately the manager comes up and says to me that I am soliciting money and therefore he has to look into me. I say no, and I immediately leave. I would have stayed for another drink with my friends, but as I was accused of being a solicitor, I felt unwelcome. I will not return to X bar. I guess if you lose your phone you are a criminal.

Coming back to the city after 5 years and being welcomed by a friendly staff and a group of great friends is always a welcome feature of any great establishment. Music was great upstairs with diverse and bar service was on point. Well done to a very good friend, and someone that I admire.

This is a very dangerous place to be. I have both been roofied and had my phone stolen at this bar. One of the first times I had been here I had someone swipe my phone right off the table. Using a map my phone app, I was able to see my phone heading up and down Colfax. I called the police to help me retrieve it but they were unable to do anything as I did not have the phone at a specific address but could only see it as it moved farther away. The next time I was at X bar I came in with a friend to grab a cocktail. About 25 minutes later I had half of a mixed drink (vodka soda) before I became disoriented. I soon realized I couldn’t stand up straight and felt very dizzy. I tried to start heading home and that was all I can remember. I woke up with a lump on my head and all of my credit cards gone from my wallet.
I have come to find out that this is not the only story like mine from this establishment. I have counted more than five people who have found themselves in similar situations after being here. It is safe to say that I will never be back here and I hope others will be smart enough to do the same.- This is the second time I am writing this post. The first time it was deleted.

My friend brought me here, and the crowd was very nice, easy to make friends. It was a mostly gay+ male crowd. Love the outdoor area, really nice to sprawl and sit outside, at a club. Drinks were extremely cheap it was a wednesday. Drinks were strong but sugary– and that is a combination for destruction. Live DJ, they have Go Go dancers on the weekend. The videos made me laugh and giddy. I am easy to please, I like unpretentious and fun.

I went here solo on a business trip, on a Monday night. I went for the washroom (I needed to go, badly) and ended up sitting at the bar, talking to randoms. But, I give it 4 stars for Jeff (or Geoff) who is a great bar man, and incredibly friendly and handsome to boot. I entered sober, I left white girl wasted.

Rudest and disrespectful bartenders in Denver! It makes no logical sense why management retains two of the rudest bartenders that have been there for years. The blonde lesbian bartender who must work everyday is constantly rude to her customers will not make eye contact does not smile and forgets what drinks she is even serving. I am sure that there are a large job pool of great bartenders that could be hired at this establishment new faces are always great especially when they bring new life into the bar and negative energy from toxic employees are gone. My recommendation to any one coming in for the first time or repeat patrons choose your establishment and bartender wisely or your entire night of experience could be destroyed at X-​Bar!

We went on 80’s night and it was a blast. Huge dancefloor and huge patio. There’s also a cage for some people to get wild in, there’s a bar that’s kind of a weird layout but a bar nonetheless, and plenty of men in tight shirts shaking what their mama’s gave them.

You can dance the night away at this place. Okay, sometimes you and your friends may be the only ones dancing, but if the DJ is good and after people have some drinks, the dance floor can be full. There is a cage that people take turns to dance in. And there is a half naked guy that sometimes has moves, sometimes doesn’t, but he has a good body, so whatever. The drinks are strong and cheap, the patio is a nice place to hang out, plus there is another bar out there.
The second story has a smaller bar and a smaller dance floor but a little section with seating. Upstairs seems to be more chill then down. And after you party it up, you can head next door for some 24-​hour-​dinner-​prevent-​your-​hangover food. No cover, oh and this is a gay bar, so there’s a lot of guys.

I liked the two rooms with two different dj’s. It was packed on a Friday night (which is good) the drinks were so strong (good thing) and not very expensive. I would definitely come back and party here.

Located on Colfax, just down the street from Charlie’s and a couple of other gay bars. It’s a 10 minute walk from the 16^th street mall, so this is the place to be if you’re looking to do bar runs on a Friday night.
The bartenders are pretty cute, and often do not wear shirts (wonderful!). Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a coat check for 2 dollars.
Two floors, each with a different dj (if you get tired of one you can move up or downstairs). The music is generally techno and dance mixes of pop songs. That said, depending on the DJ, the music can be hit and miss.
Generally a nice gay crowd. Sort of favors the twink scene, and is also becoming a popular place for lesbians to hang out as well (though it is still mostly gay men).

Strong drinks, dance floor, patio. I’m so there.
You can’t beat this place’s happy hour. Buy one, get one free well and draft drinks from 3 – 8 P.M. (and those drinks are big!), and a free shot at 5 P.M. if you’re seated at the bar. Um, yes please!
The staff is always nice, and the bartenders pour a nice strong drink. Makes me a happy girl. Add in dancing when the lights go down, and I’m even happier.
On weekend nights, the patio is PACKED with smokers. I don’t smoke, but am usually dragged out by a friend when they want to smoke. When I leave the place, my hair REEKS of smoke, and it makes me sick to my stomach. But I deal with it.
Thank you, X Bar, for never judging my antics after leaving this bar. Or at least not judging me to my face. Appreciate it.

I have been coming to X Bar since it opened, and it is by far my favourite bar in Denver. The staff are all amazing and welcoming, recognize my friends and I and give prompt and courteous service. They host multiple house events during the week and weekends and offer an X Card which gets you discounted well drinks during the week!
Anytime a friend is in town, I bring them to X Bar at least once, regardless of whether they are gay or straight. Everyone has a great time!
I’ve never sampled their menu of food but the drinks are always strong and delicious. Highly recommended!

The drunkest I have ever been for happy hour…
I may be small, but I can hold my liquor. Maybe I walked into xbar with a swag or glint in my eye that said «go ahead, try me» to the bartenders. They were def up the unspoken challenge and two vodka sprites later, I was obliterated. So was my date. So was everyone in there. Okay or maybe just me, I can’t remember.
The drink specials were fantastic, service was prompt and friendly. And one pet peeve I have with male-​centric gay bars with male bartenders is when they cater to men and ignore women. The bartenders this night were sexy, indiscriminate flirters/​servers. Loved it.
Music was generic techno but I wasn’t expecting a dj for happy hour. The ambiance outside was great, nice big patio with different types of seating for groups and singles alike. Great vibes and friendly fellow patrons.
The lowdown: Take your maiden voyage here on happy hour times. Heavy handed drinks that are easy on the wallet. Wanna nod to music? Sit inside. Wanna chat up your date? Sit outside. Dress casual and be ready to chat with a stranger or two!

In case you haven’t met him, Hans is the best bartender in Denver. I came on a business trip and ended up spending almost every night here hanging out with Hans and the other bartenders. It’s such a laid back, friendly atmosphere — literally like a family. The owners are brother and sister, the sister running the bar some nights. She is also a doll, super nice.
Hans was definitely the star of my trip to Denver — giving us tons of suggestions on places to go around the city, making the best drinks and just being an all-​around awesome guy.
If you are looking for a chill atmosphere, somewhere to have a few good drinks with friends, X Bar is definitely the place to be. Just avoid Karaōke night. Hans warned us, we didn’t listen, and we paid with our eardrums =P
