I really wanted to like this place. It has a charming location on lake and the whole vibe of the place is of the 1950s. Unfortunately, it needs a major overhaul. Rooms are musty, dirty and have uncomfortable beds. The breakfast was very average. This would be acceptable if the room rates were modest but the rates they charge way too much for their product.

Holy shit RUN. Do not walk. Run as fast as you can away from this trainwreck of a «resort». Their claim to fame is that they were asked to be the resort featured in the movie Dirty Dancing but the owner turned down the offer because he didn’t agree with the movie’s message. He Obviously doesnt agree with cleaning, or health codes either. This place has not been touched since 1960. Fleas, bed bugs, mold. You name it, they got it. Do yourself a favor and skip this nightmare.

Completely agree with Jason M. This place isn’t even worth one star. They couldn’t pay me to stay here again. The rooms were absolutely disguising — paint peeling, moldy and damp, brown water, rusted bath tub and sink. The family that runs this place is out of their mind for charging the prices they do for this hell hole. The food was gross. The servers touched the the food with their bare hands. The entertainment was TERRIBLE — a bunch of old people singing bad showtunes from the 1930’s(kill me). They need to demolish this place. They must be violating a thousand health codes. The owners should be ASHAMED of themselves for running a business like this. And the worst part of all was that they charged $ 140+ for a night. This place is a sick joke. NEVERSTAYHERE.

This place isn’t even worth one star. My girlfriend and I just attended a wedding there and the resort(if you would call it that) was horrible. No heat, water leaking into our room, mold, musty and hasn’t been update since the place was probably built. No hot water no water pressure. Bugs in the room. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone and everything. The food was mmmm I wouldn’t even call it food. My 4 year old could cook better then that. The servers walked around and seemed to be numb to everything. Don’t ask for a steak knife either because you’ll get a better knife. Yes a butter knife. The cook was complaining about people’s special requests and saying that it’s a buffet and isn’t taking any special request. Rude rude RUDE! I’ve never EVERBEENTREATEDSOPOORLY. The owners seem to not care about putting people into harms way(black mold) no heat people serving food with no gloves. The place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. These people will just take your money and run. We didn’t want to complain because of the wedding but anyone that rates this place a five star resort is on something(probably a family member boosting the ratings) you couldn’t pay us to stay there again. I hope that we don’t get any sickness from being there because if we do they will be getting my medical bills. DONOTSTAYATTHISPLACEYOUWILLBEVERYUNHAPPY!!! I SIGNEDUPTOWRITETHISREVIEW. This has to be the most vile place I have ever visited. My husband and I stayed in their Redwood cabin, we were upgraded, and nearly feared for our lives that the building would collapse. You can see the middle of the cabin sagging and sitting on cinder blocks. The décor is not rustic its just old. This place has not changed from the 1950’s, not the carpet, the bedspread, wall paper and they are all disgustingly dirty. When we first checked into the Redwood Cabin it was hot and stuffy. We went to open the windows but realized only one window in the whole cabin had a screen on it. We inquired about the screen so we could open the windows and not worry about bugs. I was told the she, the owner, had lived there for 65 years and its not that buggy. I photos and video to the contrary. Any cabin by a body of water is going to have bugs. We were promised a full working kitchen. The stove, installed sometime in the 60’s or 70’s was not in proper working order. My husband tried to light the pilot lights but it appears the gas line was clogged. The toaster also did not work. I resorted to using paper plates, paper towels and plastic forks and knives only because the dish drain under the sink was covered in black mold. The only comfortable place to sit in the cabin was at the make shift island someone made out of old panelling and formica surrounded by cane chairs. The sofa, was very uncomfortable and I did not trust that it had been cleaned. As a matter of fact, I would not let my husband walk around barefoot in this place and I made sure our dog laid on a towel so as not to touch the floors or carpet(also installed sometime in the 60’s or 70’s) When we first booked our vacation here, we were told the we could bring our dog for a small fee. On our first day, I was reprimanded by the owner for having my dog off a leash and in the lobby. There were no signs posted about restrictions. I did promtptly leash my dog,

This place is stuck in time in the 1960’s. The grounds are old and not kept up at all. The rooms are the most pathetic attempt at a hotel I have ever seen. EVERYTHING is outdated. From the goldenrod yellow bathroom, to the shower faucet that looks like original equipment. The mattresses for our«king’ bed are two twin mattresses pushed together and the mattresses are at least 25 years old based on the pattern of the mattress. Sitting on the mattress you hit the box spring. The TV is an old 19» tube television. Picture ‘Dirty Dancing’ but not kept up since 1955. The lake is pretty, but that has nothing to do with this resort. The resort is just old, old, old. Overpriced for what you get is an understatement. This place was probably ok in 1962. It needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt. The two 5 star reviews are obvious plants by the owners.

This is a nightmare! The place is falling apart and the owners don’t care. They are trying to squeeze every penny out of the place and losing dollars in the process. Any good reviews on here are written by the godless owners. All of the food is frozen, over cooked, bland and without nutritional value. If you have kids, the enter rounds are in such disrepair, it could kill them. Run away as fast as you can from this fire trap. They are truly evel people.

Out of every place I have reviewed, I cannot recommend this place enough. Food is out of this world Mother’s day brunch is a must Location is on a lake, and the scenery is beautiful eating outside The service is as close to five stars as can be This establishment is hard to find, I was brought there in a group for the mother’s day brunch, and when I went back I was trying to find another place, finding it permenately closed(which after such a drive it was disheartening) but then I remembered Scotts and decided to give them a try. After which it became the spot I took my GF to(ex) for our anniversaries. We would sit on the dock and just talk once food was done. It’s really a nice spot to break up a trip if you want more isolated areas, or if you are from the region, it’s good to know about. Would I spend a vacation there? Probably not, but only because I lived so long in the region. If the Catskills are new to you, then for sure I would choose this place. A small note: the documentary series with Ewan McGregor, the«Long way home» stops here and does a shoot at this location.

This place is a really special resort. The rooms are not fancy, and most don’t have AC, but that’s not what this place is about and is not enough to have it rate less than five stars. This place has so much to offer(all included in the price.) There are many organized activities every day(canoe trips, singing cruises, dance lessons, volleyball games, sightseeing trips, etc.), and many other activities that you can do whenever such as tennis, golf, hiking, swimming, bowling, shuffle board, etc.). There is live entertainment and dancing every night(on a wonderful dance floor), and three great meals a day. And its all included in the price. What’s more the family that runs the place(now for several generations), are very special and make all their guests feel very welcome. We plan to be returning here again.
