Excellent quality diner food… generous portions, fresh food, good service, great breakfasts… great chopped sirloin steak. Nothing fancy here, just good diner food, with good service at very reasonable prices.

Average diner. Kitchen staff needs to make sure not to eat in front of customers. Wash your hands. Guest perception is everything. Recommend changing your American cheese to real cheese, not the processed. Homefries are disgusting. They need to be soft and frsshly prepared. The beans are not sweet enough. Lots of potential here. Coffee is great!

The breakfast food is good here, particularly the omelettes and hash. The Irish Eggs are always good. The service is fast and friendly. It is a good place to go both during the week and in weekends.

We decided to give the Derry Diner another try after many years. A few observations on my visit. The carpet was really dirty. The waitress could not answer my questions regarding the specials that were posted. If you don’t know the answer, at least try to find out the answer instead of dismissing me. No coffee refilled offered until we were finished our meal. The ice tea was very weak. The scrambled eggs were actually cooked perfectly. Nice Job! The home fries were mostly small burned bits. I found 5 – 6 edible pieces only. The entry is not handicapped accessible.

I like this place. The food is okay, not great. But is is honest and fun. The staff is friendly. There are not many places where the cook will lean through the kitchen window to say hello.(I’m not there often enough to be recognized.) There are a lot of regulars. People know each other. This puts some people off, but I think it is very cool. They always have new groaners on the white board. Love those groaners.

Definitely a place for locals, which is fine by me. I was greeted by a smiling Deb who made sure I got my coffee and food fast. Décor was random local photos and cut-out pictures of cats and dogs. Static flowed out of speakers in equal parts to music from a local station. Lots of banter about the weather and road construction. And real, genuine conversations between waitstaff and customers. As a matter of fact, two employees that went on break at different times just had breakfast out front next to the customers. Lots of good natured laughter. Doesn’t get much more real than this. Food portions are adequate, not insane, and the Nutfield omelette I had was delicious(hash and cheese). Nance, one of the cooks, said they had been open since 1999 and she has been here before they opened. May be one of the owners. Oh, and they have Tobasco which I’ve found is not a given in New England. So, if you can handle some true Derry flavor without being a hipster jerk this is a great place.

Love Derry Diner for breakfast every weekend. It is a little less busy on Saturday morning than Sunday so we shoot for Saturday each weekend. Servcie is top notch, but you need to know what you want. Typical diner! The food is what really pushes Derry Diner out in front of any other breakfast spot in town. Always cooked perfectly and always served hot off the grill. Try it you will not be disappointed.

This place sucks. The people there are jerks. The only people that eat here are the elderly who for some reason stare at you like you don’t belong if you’re below 50… and the staff does the same. It’s like this huge clique. If you haven’t eaten there for 30 years you are trespassing it seems. Which is fine, because I don’t rate restaurants that way. I don’t care if I’m being treated poorly, i don’t mind confronting people about it, and not leaving a tip. Hell, I’ve walked out without paying for a check before and left a note on WHY I didn’t pay for my «meal». With them, the food was TERRIBLE. It’s breakfast, not very difficult to screw up especially if you’ve done it awhile. I think they don’t have to try anymore because their customers can’t taste whether it’s good or bad. Oh well. It’s a gross little place anyways. It’s like going to your Aunt Clara’s double wide for grits, and she has never tried to make grits before, and they’re the instant grits.

My boyfriend and I have been going here for a little while now so it’s a place I definitely know. His father lives in Derry so it’s only 5 minutes down the road which makes it pretty convenient. Although this place may not look amazing from the outside, the food is quite decent. Every time I go here I usually get one of their omelets since I am a huge fan of omelets. Last time I went to the Derry Diner, I got an omelet with black olives, cheddar cheese, and it had other various vegetables in it. I think what I like most about Derry Diner is the fact that everyone there is very nice. The wait to get your food isn’t that long and everything I have ever had there has been good. I have never gotten cold food and the only thing I would say isn’t amazing is their home-fries. Unfortantly, both my boyfriend and I have yet to find one place with amazing home-fries so I won’t penalize them there. One thing I will say stinks is that in the summer time they put their air conditioner on but it gets so cold inside I’m practically freezing. Also know that it gets VERY busy during the weekends so I would recommended getting there early.

The location is really convenient and there’s plenty of parking. The food itself was adequate, but nothing really special. Prices are very reasonable. If anywhere in Derry served PBR with breakfast, this would be it.

Open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. The Derry Diner offers a basic menu including breakfast items such as eggs, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, waffles, bacon, sausage, ham, home fries, beans, toast, and muffins. For lunch, sandwiches, burgers, plate specials(ham steak), and desserts are offered. This non-smoking diner has a «down home» atmosphere with small framed pictures on the walls and several signs behind the lunch counter(8 stool seats) displaying some good wise proverbs(you’ll have to visit this diner to see them) and grey colored seating. There’s also booth seating and table seating available. The menus are already at each table. NOTE: On the weekends, there is a 2 person minimum to sit at the booths and tables. I had breakfast here recently on a weekday and I sat myself at a booth. I ordered hot coffee($ 1.10) and three breakfast items. The Sunrise Sandwich($ 3.00) is an egg substitute with green peppers and onions on multi-grain toast, tasty and light. The Home Fries($ 1.75) consisted of grilled potato chunks, which was okay. The Texas French Toast($ 3.75 for 6 half slices) consisting of egg-battered thick bread and topped with cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar which was soft and sweet. The service here was decent with a free refill on coffee and quick delivery of food from the kitchen. The check was $ 9.60 before tax and tip.
