DaVo has been piercing in Des Moines since 1994 and has always focused on educating and supporting the client through getting a piercing, selecting the best jewelry and taking care of the piecing until it heals.

History

Established in 1994.

The Axiom was started by DaVo when he first began piecing at Creative Images in May of 1994. he was the first professional trained piercer in Des Moines. The use of the name was expanded when he opened the Axiom location on E. 5^th St where in 1997 the Axiom became the first Piercing only Studio in the state of Iowa. In October of 1999, we moved into Skin Kitchen Tattoo at the studio’s old location north of the current location.

DaVo finished his apprenticeship under Chuck Hays at Xotics in Omaha, Nebraska in April of 1994. He become the first Professional Body Piercing in Des Moines when he began piercing at Creative Images in may of 1994. He left Creative Images in February of 1995 to open the Axiom’s location on E 5^th which offered both piercing and tattooing until 1997. In 1999, he closed the location and moved into Skin Kitchen Tattoo on Douglas Ave.

DaVo has also been an active member in the Des Moines music scene since the mid 1980s. He took a major role between 1996 and 2001 as Axiom Promotions which worked as an Independent Promotion company and Talent Buyer for Safari Nite Club and then Hairy Mary’s. During this period he help to establish All Ages shows in Des Moines and bring National acts to Des Moines.
