Gene’s Transportation & Delivery Service

What a breath of fresh air! I’ve traveled to and from numerous cities, small and big, and Des Moines by far has the worst taxi service I’ve ever seen. On numerous occasions I’ve called hours in advance to United Cab/​Freedom Cab/​Yellow Cab (FYI, they’re all operated by the same owner) and the taxi just never showed up. So I figured I’d try Gene’s service. And boy am I glad I did. Gene showed up on time and helped with my bags. During the trip we conversed and it was such a pleasure, not your typical awkward questions/​answers. Once we were to the airport Gene helped carry in all my bags (military, so I had quite a few). I will recommend his service to anyone I know and I personally will never use another service in Des Moines/​surrounding area. Just one side note, I’m not sure if he has any other drivers so I’m not sure how a last minute request would work. I called two hours in advance and had no issues!

On a recent trip to Des Moines I needed to arrange transportation to the Des Moines Airport from Norwalk, but was having trouble finding anyone — no Super Shuttle. I found Gene in the Yellow Pages and I’m so glad I did!
I’m used to traveling in major markets, so initially I was a little concerned when Gene answered the phone himself and took my reservation — no confirmation number etc. I needn’t have worried. Despite changing my flight twice due to weather, he arrived on schedule and got me to the airport with time to spare. He even offered to wait for me in case there was a problem rebooking my cancelled flight.
5 stars!!! Great service, reasonable rates! Give Gene a call next time you need to go to the airport and take the stress out of your trip… That part, anyway!
