History

Established in 1935.

This is a family business that was estabilshed in 1935 in Ames, Iowa. Maxheim photography was moved to Des Moines in 1950with its first location at 35^th and Ingersoll (location of the former Dahls and new Price Chopper) Maxheim Photography was a leader in photography being a full service photography studio. As photography evolved from Black ad white to color to digital, Maxheim’s remained a leader in all types of photography (Portrait-​weddings-​special events-​senior portraits-​pets-​infant berevement and creative leaders in photo restoration. In addition to owning and operating a photographic studio-​Paula Maxheim tutors photography privately and serves as adjunct faculty (Photography) member at GVU.
