We are a family run business which opened fourteen years ago. We are not a wire service that will add two extra fees to your bottom line, ie. a senders fee and a clearing house fee. Our commitment to quality flowers is fully guaranteed. Bouquets Baskets & Balloons designs

unique gourmet gift baskets, including fine chocolates, homemade fresh flavored popcorn, fruits, nuts, meat, cheeses, candy and cookies. Floral creations as well as balloon decorations are custom made for the individual, party or event. We love to work on weddings, ie. centerpieces and bridal party flowers etc. We also create personalized funeral floral pieces, sympathy gourmet gift baskets, get well, birthday, Anniversary, and flowers for all special occasions.

Our balloons can be arranged into centerpieces, arches, sculptures and even bouquets for delivery. We provide same day delivery for flower arrangements, gift baskets and balloon bouquets.

History

Established in 2000.

The business was started as a result of a growing business from my home. Personal friend were asking me to create flowers for their daughters weddings. I had started making flower arrangements for my churches fund raises and became comfortable with large events. I then became a balloon artist so that flowers could be coordinated with the balloons for a unique look. I have always offered gift baskets because they can incorporate the flowers, plants, and balloons for a custom look. This area has grown to include a wide variety of gourmet foods, since I have recently agreed to make gourmet gift food baskets for a large hotel chain in Chicago.

I have studied floral design at both Triton and Harper college as well as attended numerous work shops by expert designers in the field, as well as attended balloon workshops from several balloon companies. I have worked for Chicago events and sett up all the balloons, including columns, clusters and an arch over four lanes of traffic on Halsted St. for the Gay Pride Parade. I have decorated for events given by Wheels Inc. Xerox, Oce, Mast Travel, etc. Prior to starting my own business I held a Master’s degree in mental health nursing. I have also received a women of the year award.

In terms of customer service, I had a pleasant experience ordering flowers for a friend’s birthday. They were helpful, same day delivery etc.
However, the flowers delivered were a sad substitute for what I ordered based on options on their website. I was very disappointed with the quality of the flowers my friend received. For nearly $ 70, I expect (and have certainly received at other florists) a LOT better.

I really had nothing but a horrible experience with this florist.
To begin with, I started planning our wedding and chose this florist because she was the most affordable… I guess you get what you pay for! She wouldn’t even meet with me a second time without takin a deposit. She is NEVER onsite and you have to make an appointment to even come into the store. Everytime we met is was 40 degrees in her shop and she never turned the heat on.
I kept trying to explain my ideas to her and she never seemed to get it. I asked for a cascading bouquet and what I got was something that looked like a pin cushion with roses and orchids sticking out if it at all sides! To make thing worse, flowers started to fall out of the bouquet DURING my ceremony!
My bridesmaids bouquets looked like they were missing half of their flowers and the bouquets seems very thin and had gaping holes in a lot of areas.
She also failed to give me a Mary bouquet and insisted that she dropped one off at the church and that someone had taken it… this may have been the case since she dropped them off an HOUR earlier than what was on our contract and that there was another ceremony going on at the time, they could have mistaken it for one of their flowers when they were leaving!
All on all horrible service and I would NEVER recommend this florist to my worst enemies.

I had purchased flowers for a funeral. my mom’s. i had specifically asked the florist nothing pink. when i picked up the wreath, it looked sad, with pink flowers and an ever sadder ribbon that spelled «mom» twice, consecutively. the sadness i had at the time stopped me from going back to complain and ask for another wreath. but it only made me more bitter…
from this customer, F minus for not being able to listen to the precise instructions i had provided ahead of time.

Great place and very nice owner! I needed flowers for a wake last minute. I called the morning of the wake and the owner made sure to make time to make the flower arrangement. The flowers were beautiful, fresh, and a great price. I couldn’t be happier.

My husband and I planned an intimate backyard wedding on a very small budget. It was the best and most magical day of my life! I live in Chicago, but I chose a florist in Des Plaines because my parents live there and I planned to have them pick up our flowers. I knew very little about flowers except that they were beautiful and often expensive.
Although my floral order was small and consisted only of a wedding bouquet and a boutonnière, Marisue exceeded our expectations with her excellent customer service and attention to details. She is extremely knowledge about flowers and how to choose flowers that meet your needs (i.e. colors, preservation, bouquet styles, flowers that match your budget…)
Here’s what stands out to me about my experience in working with Marisue:
–Marisue was consistently available by phone and e-​mail. She immediately created a rapport of trust, so that she could create my bouquet without meeting in person.
–Even though my order was small, Marisue asked lots of thoughtful questions to assure she understood what I wanted.
–Marisue reviewed photos of my wedding dress and we collaborated on how to create a smaller wedding bouquet, that looked «wild» and matched our wedding attire colors.
–Marisue was flexible on my order pick-​up time, even with little notice, when my plans unexpectedly changed.
–My wedding bouquet was more beautiful than I could have imagined. She selected complimentary colors and gave it the «I just picked wildflowers» feel that I envisioned.
–My husband’s boutonnière reflected the flowers in my bouquet and was incredibly elegant.

Can I give zero stars? Not only were the costly bouquets not what was expected (contents), oddly designed and of an outdated style, one of the was dying by the next morning. The icing on the cake was the horrendous customer service, which included awful communication skills and an owner/​manager who has serious anger management issues. We love to support small businesses, but this one needs an overhaul first.
