History

Established in 2002.

Fagan, Fagan & Davis was formed by Joseph M. Fagan, Alan T. Davis and Steven H. Fagan after several years of defending clients charged with felony and misdemeanor criminal, DUI and traffic matters in the Chicago area, including all of Cook county, DuPage county and Lake county. In one form or another, our firm has been at this location for over 30 years.

Business Owner

Steven H. Fagan is a partner at Fagan, Fagan & Davis, and has defended thousands of drunk driving and criminal cases in and around the greater Chicago area. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-​Champaign, and earned his law degree at Chicago-​Kent College of Law in 1998. Before admission to the bar, Steve was given special permission to practice law under Illinois Supreme Court rule 711, and prosecuted for the village of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Steve is a proud member of the National College for DUI Defense, and enjoys a national recognition as a leader in DUI defense matters.

Steve Fagan has represented in me traffic court twice and his partner once. I have always felt that with his representation I have faired significantly better in the outcomes than had I gone at it without him. He really pushes for the best negotiation with the prosecutor. Mr. Davis had me in and out of court in twenty minutes. I was accused of aggravated speeding, 35+ miles over the speed limit. Because of Julie’s Law in Illinois, this meant I was facing a Class A misdemeanor charge without the possibility of court supervision. I had been extremely concerned about having a criminal record, and have worked in industries requiring up-​or-​down background checks.
The states attorney knew him immediately, as did the judge (and one of the cops!). He moved around the court room confidently and quickly and neatly worked out a petty charge with a $ 200 fine. He explained the law carefully to me, and how it would change, and we were able to share a jubilant moment that I had not been snared by such a serious charge. Worth every penny.

I had a very difficult period in my life recently. During that time I had a serious speeding ticket. Due to recent changes in Illinois law, this was no longer a charge that I could get supervision and if convicted, I would carry a criminal misdemeanor conviction on my record. In my professional position, this would have had serious negative consequences.
I met with Jeffery Fagan a couple of weeks before my initial court date. He was very friendly, calm and supportive. He explained the process very clearly and simply. Jeffery represented me through several court appearances. This was (for me) an unusual and nerve-​wracking experience. He was always calm and supportive.
At the final appearance, his brother Stephen represented me and my case was settled with an extremely positive outcome. No permanent conviction on my record.
Everyone at their office is friendly and very professional. During the course of my case, they made sure that every possible avenue was explored in my defense. Considering the amount of time that they spent on my case, the fee was extremely reasonable.
These men stood by me during a very difficult time in my life. They worked tirelessly to ensure that I had an aggressive and extremely competent defense. I would recommend this law firm to anyone in need of help, without reservation.

I was pulled over for a DUI in October 2013 and it was my first. Because of the bombardment of ads, I had no idea where to turn but Fagan Fagan and Davis was close and I went in. After speaking with Joe Fagan, he was confident and radiated years of experience along with the ability to tell it to me straight, optimistically under promise (does that make sense?) and absolutely over deliver.
Going into the office, the building is unimpressive… but don’t let it fool you. After speaking with Joe I realized that he is obviously in this to help good people in bad situations and because he loves it. One of the first things he asked me was what were my «must haves» and then what my «nice to haves» were. He then did everything he could to make it happen and absolutely exceeded my expectations exponentially.
Nobody is an advocate for drunk driving. It is a bad situation all around. But all I can say is that in a bad situation… when I was at my life’s darkest hour, Joe brought a torch and showed me the way back to the light. It was my first brush with the law. It will be my last, and Joe Fagan is the unsung hero who made a huge difference when others were saying I was essentially screwed. Worth every penny. The practice worked as a team… and Joe is a pleasant man with lots of great stories too. I can’t more highly recommend him. :)

Consistent positive experiences. In my youth, I was pretty negligent about paying tickets and going to court. I used Fagan Fagan and Davis at least four times and they were able to help me clear everything up. Illinois can be a brutal state for drivers so I’ve come to realize having a good lawyer can make all the difference. I thought their pricing was fair, and on least two occasions they saved me money by having what I owe to the state significantly reduced.

I’ve hired Steven Fagan for a case of multiple counts (6 in all) during a traffic stop, including possession of drugs, paraphernalia, and a uuw case. The case was thrown out at preliminary (all six counts). He also got a friend of mine off of a couple dui cases, including my girlfriend’s dui case. I would highly recommend him for any dui or criminal offenses.

A very reputable lawyer!
Steve Fagan represented a friend of mine for a case. We had consulted with several lawyers and ultimately was most convinced by Steve’s candor, organization, and knowledge. In addition to years of experience and thousands of cases, Steve is actively involved in spreading awareness of the law and participates through many citizen educating outlets. (Such as serving as an expert opinion on legal websites and even creating educational Youtube videos).
As for my friend’s case, after Steve organized a very convincing case, my friend’s case was cleared. He focused on the strengths of the case and used a variety of sources to support the case. I highly recommend Steve.

That what you get when Stephen Fagan (who had represented me several years earlier) offers to ‘step-​up’ for you FREE OF CHARGE!!! What a guy!
So there I am in court for one of those ‘orange’ light violations… when he walks in and and before I’m even at the judges bench he has one of my tickets entirely dismissed and as for the ‘orange’ light violation, well I feel like I got really lucky!!!
