I am a woman… I walked in this lovely establishment to buy rotars & brake pads for my civic. I told Paul what year, make, model & he had to look even at my engine #. He immediately told me my car has boots in the rear NOT rotars, ok. He went on & gave me a huge explanation to bc again I am a woman. $ 277 later I bring my car to my mechanic & NONE of the rotars for front fit & I DO NOT have boots in the back… I called to yell but it was 7 pm and they closed… My car sat with wheels off overnight til I could GO BACK and return the crap he gave to THIS WOMAN. Beware.

I’ll typically stop at a NAPA before any other parts supplier. They transport me back to the old school neighborhood independent parts suppliers. Professionals that know there shit about cars and a eagerness to get you in and out with some savings, but not always the cheapest guy in town. They sure have a lot of phone traffic, with what I can only surmise is local repair shops.
I liked the layout of this store. It’s not a super store with isle after isle, but I can only trust the bulk of their stock is behind the counter. I really only need some pisser fluid and the good purple stuff was sitting front and center.

I was on my way to Auto Zone west of here but changed my mind and came here instead since the place was a bit closer. Not as big as Auto Zone but definitely better service. I was just looking to replace my wiper blades and get a headlight bulb for my wife’s car.
The moment I walked in, the guy behind the counter asked what I needed. I showed him the bulb and he got me the right match. Then I told him I need to get wiper blades for my Villager ’01 van. Without having me look through the book with compatible wiper blades, he got me the right wiper in seconds!
I know neither the Auto Zone on Devon in Lincolnwood, nor the Auto Zone by Mannheim & Oakton would not be as helpful. It’s a good place to know just minutes from home.
