Hunger Knows No Reason
Even though I have lived 5 minutes from this place for the last 23 yrs, I just discovered this place while looking for places to volunteer. This also made me realize how unaware we could be of the needs and people of our surroundings and neighbors.
Started in 1971 as a volunteer program this not for profit organization serves the needy in Des Plaines community in providing much needed assistance in food and clothing.
This community based operation relies on donations of foods, clothing and funds from all capable and generous hearts.
Their RED BARREL program is visible in many places including grocery stores in Des Plaines.
Please be kind and share your abundance with some one who is much in need.
