I have never posted anything on this website, but I want to let you know of my unsanitary experience here. I have been quite the fan of Subway over the years, but recently I had a pretty bad experience at this location in Des Plaines. I came in on a Sunday and couldn’t help but notice a little girl in her pajamas(with no shoes on!) wondering around the store. Her mother, who happened to be a Subway employee, was sitting at one of the tables reading the newspaper completely ignoring her daughter. The little girl who is not being watched proceeds to start touching the bottom of the line stanchions and then starts playing with the dirty floor matts. This continues on while people are ordering their sandwiches for at least 5 minutes until this mother finally notices what her daughter is doing.(side note: she picks up the little girl, puts her on a table and starts yelling at her. What a way to discipline your child!) To make a long story short, the mother and daughter proceed to order themselves a sandwich. The mother puts her daughter on the counter and slides her along while she orders her lunch. Don’t forget this little girl was just crawling all over the dirty floor and touching the dirty stanchions. Once the two arrive at the register, the girl starts touching the inside and outside of all the cups with her unsanitary and dirty hands. She touches most of the cups, and it goes completely unnoticed by both the mother and the Subway employee. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich, because I figured this little girl has probably touched more then just the cups with her dirty hands! I went up and complained to the man behind the counter, but with no luck. He hardly spoke any English and did not understand what I was saying. So frustrating! I then went up to the mother and told her what happened, and she rudely responded, «I know, we’ll throw away the cups». I am pretty positive those cups never were thrown away. and if they did, what a waste of money for Subway!
