I had eye lid surgery at this location last October 2015. Dr. Noël Sax did the surgery. I have had several issues with this surgical center. The doctor who put me out did a great job but office sent me a bill. which i paid immediately. They called from collections looking for payment. I sent them the canceled check and continued to call me. We finally had to call the Dr. to have them stop.
The next issue i had was its 6 month later and the surgical is just now sending me a bill for over 1600.00 dollars. Insisted that i pay the bill in full. i told them i would put ½ down and ay a certain amount each month they wanted more and I wouldn’t budge. they were insisent on review my bill in 6 months to raise the payments which i have no in tensions of doing Worst place i have ever been in. will never go there again.
Dr Sax was great and did a great job on my eyes. BEWARE of this surgical center.

Claimed I was 20 minutes late for appointment though they never bothered to give me a call to check on my status; not very personal.

Like other patients, I have had terrible experiences with the staff at this medical office. Even after reporting my concerns to the manager, problems occurred at the next visit and so on. This business is mostly concerned with optimizing the doctors’ time with patients, which means employing many lower level people to do as much of the doctors’ work as possible. This is not the best way to treat patients, but it certainly does generate a lot more income for these doctors who make likely over a millions dollars a year each. You would think they could train their staff to behave professionally, but unfortunately that is not the case. Not all of their staff have this problem, but about 80% of them did in my experiences with this office group. There are plenty of qualified ophthalmologists, try and find others to work with for your medical care, it will save you tons of stress and frustration.

Get serious about your sight. I trust Dr Katz, especially since I found out I was diabetic. Great staff, very concerned. Really good!

All I can say is, thank God these guys are not my doctors. I went in today with my elderly in-​laws for a follow up for cataract surgery he had.
I know that waiting at the doctors’ office is normal but the wait time here was insane!!!
When we got there we asked the receptionists if the doctor was «on schedule» they responded, «He (my father in law) will be seen soon. Fast forward 45 minutes later… we still have not been seen. I then told the receptionist, «As a courtesy to me, how much longer would it be… I have to go to work». I was floored when they told me that my father in law won’t be seen for 45 more minutes, then they had to dilate his eyes and we would have to wait more.
I ended up leaving with my mother in law and left my father in law there for his appointment. He took a cab and got home at 4:00!!!
Maybe in the future, the ladies at the front desk can be a little more clear about when the doctor will see someone.

Honestly, Dr. Mono is awesome. But his staff is terrible. They are always in a rush and I don’t think it’s their fault, just really busy there.
Today, the checkout person pushed me over the edge. She was so incredibly rude. How can you speak to patients like that? Being a nurse manager in a busy hospital, this shocks me. She was extremely unhelpful and made everything seem like I did something wrong. I thought a doctor and his staff are there to help people. Obviously they have a different view of their job description.
I hope Dr. Mono comes to his senses, because after today, I’ll be finding a new eye doctor.

I found Dr. Richard Katz due to an emergency. I had sudden vision loss in my right eye around the thanksgiving holiday. I went to the emergency room were I was treated very poorly and was told that I had an ocular migrane (which I knew that wasn’t it)
I called Dr. Katz’s office on Black Friday and he agreed to see my right away on an emergency case. Right when I walked into the office everyone was extremely nice to me. Although I had to wait a bit to see Dr. Katz I didn’t mind because he was the only MD office that agreed to see me right away.
He was very kind and had a great sense of humor. He was very through with my exam and assured me that it wasn’t my retina. He asked me to come back the next day so they can preform more tests.
I ended up having to come see him at least once a month for like 5 – 6 months. Every single time I would see him, he would have a little post-​it to remind him of things he wanted to check out with me. He really made me feel like I was his patient and cared. He really kept up to date with my case and also kept in touch with my primary doctor to keep her in the loop.
The admin staff are just as great, they helped me schedule my MRI with the hospital with ease and made sure I had everything I needed before I left each visit.
I would recommend this place to everyone, they truly know what patient care really is.

If you want a quality eye exam don’t go here!!! If you want a McDonald’s drive through fast type eye exam that’s the place. It doesn’t take much they have quick staff that go really really fast through all the tests (I give them that much they have dexterity-​in a health care facility it is not a good thing). They’re very very expensive ($ 225 for an eye exam)…I’m a full time student and that was just out of my range. when I paid after my exam my eyes were dilated from the medication I kept looking at the receipt and all I could see was $ 25 but the receptionist said $ 225. $ 225 !!! OMG. For what? Honestly it is not worth it. I had better quality in care going to Walmart. Dr Patel you are a very nice person but as a ophthalmologist your grade is F.

In my 10 years here in Chicago, I have found some wonderful doctors and Dr. Patil is one more to add to that list.
I went for an eye exam and some concerns about my vision. She and her staff treated me with respect and dignity. And gave me a very thorough eye exam.
I left there very informed and very well-​taken care of.
I highly recommend you see Dr. Patil.

All of the doctors and all of the staff at Midwest Center for Sight are fantastic. They are completely up-​to-​date with the latest equipment, tests, treatments, etc. They truly care about their patients and protecting your precious vision. Every step in the process is explained in detail so no need to be scared. And Dr. Mono volunteered to do eye surgery on a bear at Lincoln Park Zoo!

If you’re thinking about getting LASIK, go to Dr. James Katz. He took me from ²⁰⁄₃₀₀ to ²⁰⁄₂₀ in each eye. He’s knowledgeable, cautious, and an expert in his field. I interviewed about 10 doctors before finding Dr. Katz and could not be happier with my choice to have him perform my LASIK procedure.
