I ordered a wedge salad. It came unwedged. I’m sorry, but isn’t an unwedged salad just a salad? I’m a competent human being, if I wanted a wedged salad unwedged, I’d skip the redundancy and ask for a normal salad. This mess of unwedged romaine also was served with a vinaigrette which made it a complete disaster. This is a wedged salad, not a culinary free for all.

It was my first time there and the burger was amazing. Meat was cooked exactly how I wanted. Their signature chippotle sauce tasted strange. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommended.

We loved the food here. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, but everything with our order was correct, and we had no problems! It did get a little busy at one point and another person came to check on us which was nice. We would return.

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. I had heard so many great things about this location. Went in and it was quiet. I was one of 5 tables upstairs. Took a few to get menus and drinks, then a little longer to get food and when refills and check was needed, the waitress was no where to be found. Ordered a burger with grilled onions, mushrooms and Swiss. When you order a burger with cheese and lift the bun, you expect to see the cheese stretch. I think they forgot to cook the burger with the cheese. When I order sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions they should have brown grill marks on them. The kitchen also needs to learn the difference between medium rare and medium well. Pink not brown. Finally, the burger had zero flavor, was chewy and hard to bite into. Total visit and experience was sub par. :/

The Fiery Buffalo Turkey Burger… it’s one of those rare things you eat and find yourself still thinking about it days and weeks later. Two juicy ground turkey patties, hot sauce, bleu cheese, and other yummy fixings on a perfectly toasted bun. SO, so good. Ordered with a side of crispy sweet potato chips — the meal had me just perfectly full. I think had I gotten regular fries, or one of the other heavier sides, it would have been too much. But house-made chips are one of my favorite things a restaurant can offer, so I always give them a try when they’re on the menu. I can’t I forget the little Tootsie Rolls you get with your bill. A simple, sweet bite to end the meal. Parking around here is typical Greektown-crappy, which isn’t really the fault of Bagger Dave’s, but still something to consider. Our server was friendly and helpful, but had to be reminded a few times for various things we asked for. For a chain burger joint, Bagger Daves is doing it right. These burgers are unique, gourmet, and really well cooked. I’ll be back for another one soon. :)

My man and I have been here a few times before Red Wings games since my last review and a lot of the same things hold true today: great food and amazing fries. However, the service has gone downhill since. Each time we’ve walked in, it’s always been at a time when there’s hardly anyone(if anyone!) dining in the place. It’s understandable, however, because we’re the typical couple who decides to eat 3 and a half hours early before a sporting event to beat the chaotic and crazy crowds. Nothing wrong with that, right? This past visit we were seated in the upstairs bar area, where there was a bartender playing on her phone all throughout our stay. The waiters and waitresses were all mingling downstairs and constantly made it seem like it was a hassle that they had to walk up the handful of stairs to assist us. If it was that big of a deal, why not seat us on the first level? The whole place was empty as is. Our waitress was out of breath from just walking up the stairs to take our order. I understand not being the most in shape and fit person but it made us feel like a bother for being there. No one asked us for refills or if our food was okay(It was delicious anyways! I recommend the Egg, Bacon, and Cheddar sandwich which isn’t soggy with the running yolk and always prepared just right!) In order for us to get a box for leftovers or our bill, we had to ask for it which took an additional 20 minutes. I don’t mind waiting, but how long could it possibly take if the restaurant is empty? As we left no one bothered saying«have a good night» even though we walked past another handful of people. I’m not expecting to be treated with royalty but hiring people who enjoy their job and show they want to be there may be helpful. With baseball season approaching I’m sure we’ll be back soon. I just hope Bagger Dave’s works out these kinks so everything runs smoothly from now on.

I went to Bagger Dave’s for the first time last night as the first stop of a Metro Times bar crawl. I ordered a harder cider to drink, which was basically an amped up version of a regular hard cider. It was fruity and sweet and came in a big glass. I definitely liked it and was even happier when I saw it was on special for $ 3.50! My friend got a flight but she was kind of unhappy with it because each beer was the size of a shot glass and had a lot of foam at the time. Usually a flight glass is like half the size of a regular beer, so she felt a little disappointed. Now for food: two of my friends had burgers and fries, which they said were bland and nothing special. I personally tasted the fries and they were pretty bland. But, my other friend and I split a barbeque chicken flatbread, and it was amazing! The sauce had a kick of chipotle in it, which made it very spicy and delicious. The flatbread is probably the only thing I would come back for. The biggest problem here was the service. The waiter put our orders in on a tablet at the table, which took him a lot longer than just writing orders down. We waited a long time for food and to pay. In addition, two of my friends ordered mac and cheese and never got it because the wait was 25 minutes for it. The manager did come over to the table and offer to get us something else instead, which I appreciated. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I know things happen and its not the server’s fault, but I really appreciated the manager coming over to make it right for us. However, despite all this, I just don’t think I would go back. Except for the flatbread, the food was mediocre and I would rather try someplace new instead.

Decided to stop in and try this place out after walking around greektown with a friend. It was a Saturday night and the placed looked sort of empty, but we decided to try it anyway based on what we had heard and the«$ 3.75» drink specials posted on the sign outside. When we walked in the waitress took us straight upstairs even though there was plenty of empty seats downstairs; but we followed her lead. She seated us and came back a few minutes later to get our drink orders. We inquired about the specials for $ 3.75 that we had seen earlier outside. She said she wasn’t sure what they were and had to get the bartender to come over to explain it to us who was explaining it to the table behind us at that time. The bartender finally came over to our table and told us what was on special: Jameson, Absolut, Fireball, Jack Daniels. When I asked if I could give her my drink order, she said no, I had to wait for our server to come back. After waiting another 10 minutes she came back and I ordered an Absolut & cranberry. She also took our food orders. My friend just ordered chili fries with Gouda cheese which were pretty good… I sampled them. Lol. I ordered a bbq bacon burger w/cheddar. The burger was just ok. It lacked enough bbq sauce to be called a bbq burger imo. Slightly dry for med-well and slightly bland as well. Our waitress brought the bill and surprisingly the $ 3.75 special became $ 4.50! When I asked about it she said she didn’t know why and had to ask the bartender. When she came back she said there was a $ 0.50 charge for the juice. I’m not a mathematical genius but that’s still more than extra .50. She said she had to get a mgr to come over. After another wait he came and told me the same thing. That they charge an additional fee for any juice, soda or mixer that goes in a drink which I think is absurd in addition to false advertisement. Finally the waitress stands at the table and waits, literally starring as I get my money to pay the bill. I never had service like this before. I’d like to give this place another try for the food; but I’m not sure if I’d return for the service.

This was my first time at Bagger Dave’s and I have to say I really liked it. The place itself is nice and modern. I was seated upstairs where they had some nice booths, a bar and some TVs hanging on the walls. It’s a good place to come and hang out with your friends or even for a date night. The food didn’t disappoint either. Everything was flavorful and fresh. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with a side of fries. Both were delicious. I also tried their Reese’s milkshake which was amazing! I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

I decided to give this place another shot, and I’m actually glad I did. This time around, I made my own burger with only the items I wanted, and it was a cheap, delicious meal. The burger was significantly less greasy than the previous trip, and everything actually tasted fresh. We also got the spicy artichoke dip and the«Mix and Match» appetizer. The dip, although a small portion, was DELICIOUS. It wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked, but the chips. My God were those chips good. And the sweet potato chips are to die for. However, I had the same server as my last visit, and she just… wasn’t great. It took 20 minutes to get our water while she was cleaning the bar and brushing her hair.

A nice burger and large sized portions. The combinations(and ability to create your own) are great and covers all the bases leaving something for everyone in your party to enjoy. The Mac & Cheese was inventive and delicious. I’d have to go back and try a more inventive burger to see if I’d increase the rating. They have an descent happy hour that I’d also like to try at some point.

This place was the only place playing the Lions game with sound in Detroit(sad!) so we sat in to have a beer and dinner. The bartenders were good — not overly friendly, but knew enough about the beer selection to help us choose something tasty. The food was just ok. Nothing spectacular. The black bean burger was undercooked and was obviously frozen(even though they brag on the menu and on the walls about not having anything frozen). The fries were a little overdone, but still edible. The ambience was great though! The upstairs bar was beautiful with the copper paneling and the open skylight above.

I like burgers, so when a couple friends suggested a burger place, there there was a location downtown, I was pretty excited. Though, when I walked in I was surprised nobody was on the main floor but us, our two friend and our two kids. Everyone else was up stairs in the bar area(this was Saturday night). We’ll start with beverages. They make their own. That, I’m not a fan of. I like Coca Cola. Coke. When a place doesn’t have it, especially a burger place, I’m a little sad inside. But, I was able to move on. I like my burgers cooked to order. Medium rare-medium. The lowest they said they would go is medium. They ended up bringing it to me add I wished anyway… bonus points! I built my own burger, and got their chortle bbq sauce on it. Delish! Their fries, to die for, with your choice of dipping sauce. I chose the honey mustard. Yum! My15 month old had the Mac and cheese, which was so good, I’m thinking next time we go back, I may have to order it. Even though their burger was great. Over all, good experience.

Dad decided to walk in here before a Lions game so… that’s really the only reason I came here. I wouldn’t have chosen to come here, myself, but I’ve been mildly interested in trying Bagger Dave’s for awhile now, so here I am. Since it was only an hour before kickoff, we decided to just get a beer each(well, he got two) and I ordered a bowl of their turkey chili. $ 6.75, eh??? Ought to be a decent size and I figure it’ll taste pretty good since it at least SOUNDS pretty good. $ 6.75 for that(look at my picture)? What the hell does a cup look like? I feel like a cup is the same size as a bowl, it’s just a narrower container to make it look smaller. Worse, if you want to get cheese and sour cream, I think it’s $ 1.25 extra… HA! What a joke! It was pretty tasty, but I’ll be damned if I ever order it again. The craft beers are about $ 6-$ 7 with a few bottled options and maybe eight taps all from Michigan breweries, if I remember correctly(Griffin Claw, Frankenmuth, Dragonmead, New Holland, Vander Mill Cider are a few I can recall). Their drink prices aren’t insane, and are about on pace with what most other places charge for craft beer in Detroit. Two stars just because the chili, while one of the biggest wallet rapers in history, had some good flavor. This place has the audacity to call themselves«LEGENDARY» … uh …

I love the atmosphere! The service was great for the most part. It’s really expensive for a burger place. The burger was savory. You also have to pay for almost everything separately.

I was seething when my friends from out of state and a few from the burbs — fatigued and overcome with a case of the«let’s just go here and then go drink somewhere good» — chose this place to temporarily quash the beast that was bellying up inside after a wanton day of drinking. «Let’s get a cab to West Village, Palmer Park, Midtown, Delray, wherever. I just don’t want to be surrounded by all of these Tigers fans in their Lee jean shorts, filling their mouths with an assortment of fried food and craft beer.» My incessant complaining garnered a slew of sophomoric insults, questioning whether I had male reproductive organs or female genitalia.(For the record, I have neither). After a childish game of arm crossing, head shaking and passive aggressive comments regarding my friends’ inferior tastes, I gave in and ordered a burger with swiss, onion and a few other condiments to go along with my 12th beer before 7 p.m. It did its job, but so would’ve any other burger joint with a little more character. It’s soulless dining at its most indifferent.

How cool is it that there is a new Bagger Dave’s next to BWW on the edge of Greektown? Very! I went for a stroll at lunchtime a few days ago and decided to get carry out from Bagger Dave’s. The hostess who took my order was very friendly and helpful and let me know that my fries and build-it-yourself burger would take about 10 minutes. I continued my stroll and circled back around 10 minutes later and my order was being bagged. It smelled so good, I could hardly maintain the self discipline not to eat it while I walked back to my office. The burger(guac and bacon with BBQ sauce) and the fries(with a side of honey mustard dipping sauce) were delicious! The meat Bagger Dave’s uses must be top-notch. If it weren’t raining, writing this review would have prompted me to go back for lunch today. Instead, I’ll go tomorrow.

Enjoyed the selection of burgers, as well and a «build your own» burger option. The restaurant is very clean with excellent service. Easy walking distance to Greektown Casino, it would be a good place to grab a bite before or after an event in downtown Detroit. Family-friendly atmosphere with good food and delicious cocktails(and try their«special» soda pop too!).

Awesome new addition to downtown Detroit! My husband and I had an awesome lunch at the upstairs bar … A very spacious, sunlit filled«loft» with skylights. The staff were all SO kind and friendly– and we really had amazing service. We just shared the Classic burger and the spicy Mac and Cheese. Totally delicious and fresh! I love how they’re SO Michigan loving at this place. there’s such pride with how they use Michigan turkeys for their burgers. and the very best Prime Rib ground up for the beef burgers. We loved the amazing local beer selection(Brewery Vivant Triomph, haaay!)
