Went back last night… terrible service. I thought I found my new go to restaurant. Bartender was a witch. And the drinks are terrible.

We got a Groupon which seems like a great deal. Appetizer: Brussel Sprouts: came out cold, after our salads and had zero flavor Entrée: I got the steak. Really greasy and lacking of flavor as well. The fries were under the steak drenched in steak fat and inedible. We also had the perch which was okay. Also we had ordered drinks and a beer was $ 9 way over priced for food and drinks for a Mediocre restaurant.

Service was great and super kid friendly though the food was sub par. Not very fresh unless you order a fried item. I ordered a salad and was not impressed prob won’t try it again.

I was actually torn between 2 and 3 stars based on the expectations I had(AKA other Unilocal reviews and things I’ve heard from other people) and the experience I personally had. I strolled in on a 75-degree Sunday evening and the place was dead. All it needed was crickets to fit the ambiance. Though while most people were probably eating on a patio somewhere else, or grilling at home, I expected more than six people inside. And, obviously, the place is called Bogart’z so there is plenty of Humphrey Bogart memorabilia. Why a place chose to model its entire business model after a Hollywood star from many, many decades ago is beyond me… it’s cool at first but then the more you think about it, the less it really makes sense. You can actually eat outside — that is, if you want to sit next to a gray cement wall and stare out into the weed thickets in the parking lot. No thanks. As for the food, it isn’t bad. Not the worst dining experience I had, but surely nowhere near memorable. The menu is random, with sliders, sandwiches, pasta and bigger burgers — all with random seafood and«fancier» entrees thrown in between. For the quality and quanity of the food, I won’t hesitate to say the food is way overpriced. Case in point: my girlfriend got the four-cheese mac(with no chicken) and it was a pretty small helping for a dish that costs over $ 10. You’d think they would give more mac if there’s no meat in it, but that’s not the case. I ate the steak sandwich, which comes on a hamburger bun with sauteed onions and cheese. It was alright, could have used more steak. The fries I substituted for the chips were pretty solid. What may have pissed me off more than anything was when we got the bill. Besides paying $ 25 for two dishes that lacked in quantity, I was about to write down my tip when I realized they automatically added $ 5 gratuity to our check. Really?! Now, I’m usually pretty observant and don’t think most places do this, so when I saw this me and my GF looked at each other with curled brows. It’s annoying to add automatic gratuity, especially for a «party» of two people! It seems like a scam to me, really, because I’m sure most people don’t realize and then tip on top of that. Shady, shady stuff. Long story short, I wasn’t too impressed and have no inkling to return.

Bartender was very social, maybe a bit too much for me. Food was tasty but everything we had came out lukewarm. They weren’t busy, and not many people were ordering food. It didn’t seem like it would’ve sat in the window long enough to cool down but it was kind of disappointing because it could’ve been so much better. Drinks were a bit pricy but they do have $ 1 off happy hour which always helps. The fried pickles were okay, hand battered but clumped together when they came out. But their hand made chips were delicious though! Just needed some seasoning when they come out of the fryer, which I could’ve done if they came to us right out of the fryer but again, they were cold. I’d give them another try in the future.

Amazing service by Molly! Chef was on point. We had Clam Chowder, the Bergman, the Buster, & Steak with Asparagus Medley. Drinks were perfecto! The Dirty Martini was extra dirty & they over poured, so they served the access on the side plus a DreagonMead Final Absolution. We’ve been here before and this visit was fantastic. Sorry we haven’t been back sooner. By far, one of the best places ever. BONUS, there was a Groupon.

This has become our go-to neighborhood hangout. The food has really improved with the new menu, probably because it’s a reasonable size as they aren’t trying to be all things to all people. I am seriously addicted to the bread knots appetizer. There are options for vegetarians and lots of great seafood dishes(the crab cake sliders are the bomb!) Just an OK beer selection, wish they had local options. The bartenders are creative and will make you something special if you ask nicely.

THEBESTPIZZA in Detroit, bar none! Their crust is the thin, chewy crust EXACTLY like the Neapolitan pizza I had when I visited Italy. The sauce is a robust tomato bursting with flavor. The margarita is topped with fresh mozzarella and loads of basil. It is unbelievably amazing and brought me right back to Italy. Oh and Tuesday is ½ off pizza night ;)

Don’t go there! They did a bait and switch on us. We thought we were getting the hamburgers that were on special. But instead we got larger hamburgers. We were very happy until we got the check. But when it came time to pay we found out that we were charged twice as much as the special. We complained to the waitress and she didn’t do anything and when we complained to the owner, she really didn’t want to do anything to rectify the situation. The waitress told her that we wanted the larger hamburgers instead of the special. So we paid in pennies and nickels and told the owner that we would never be back and we have never gone back and we never will.

Although the food is reasonably good, the service is terrible and the décor brings bad taste to a new level. Consider getting carryout if they offer it. You’ll enjoy your meal more in the comfort of your own home.

We usually get burgers here and i was hesitant to try anything else because what’s the likelihood they do anything else as good as their burgers with sweet potato fries? But we got wild one night and tried the pizza. It has the perfect chewy crust. The toppings are plentiful and the sauce is good. Also we ordered the brussell sprout side because it’s my husband’s favorite vegetable and it did not disappoint.

Food was really good. The spicy crab pizza was very interesting in a good way. Crust was thin and tasty. Beer was cold and service was good. What more do you want from a bar?

Tapas the morning to you! a few weeks ago my wife and I split some sliders at this sneakaway. Lets start at the atmosphere. It was a friday night and hardly anybody was in here! we were like«uh oh, why is nobody in here…» So lets start with the menu. I feel like this establishment is having an identity crisis, doesnt know if it wants to be a classy restaurant or Green Dot STables…(no knock to green dot stables which i LOVE holla atcha boy).it reminds me of my own identity crisis i had in college when i wasnt sure if i was like a bisexual slam poet or a dubstepping lacrosse jock. anyway my wife and i got a few tapas sliders. at $ 3 a piece we were like damn these better be worth it. and guess what? they kind of were. we were like«dude quit bogarting the slider» lmao. anyway they tasted pretty good. I remember i had trouble seeing the tigers game from our seats because the TVs were on the smaller side. I feel like they should include a «dont forget to bring your glasses» memo on the website for the TV fans. a funny side note was that my wife and i split the check(it ended up being over $ 40!) and i think because of that the waittress thought we were on our first date. we could tell she was thinking«wow what a great first date these two are on they’re really hitting it off.» but guess what we’ve been in love for a minute now.

Not from the East side but I would definitely come back to eat here again. LOVE that they offer sliders. nice variety. Black bean slider is to die for! My friend got the pecan chicken salad which she said was awesome. We started with the fried pickles… delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for awesome food and a great atmosphere– good beer selection too.

New menu… was excited to see Prime Rib special. They do beef well here so hoping for a tasty delight! Prime Rib was very good but I was not excited about the redskin mashed potatoes. They were gummy and didn’t have much flavor. One of our guests said his burger was«maybe the best burger I’ve ever had.» I would have to agree. Waitress wasn’t great tonight. If I hadn’t seen the specials on the way in I would not have known there were any. And you had to basically pry information out of her(what is the soup of the day? What does that come with? Oh… a vegetable and potato? What KIND of vegetable and potato? She wasn’t awful but I felt like I did half the work for her.

A friend and I stopped in to catch the end of a game and a quick drink. We ordered chicken«wings.» Forty minutes later, they served us chicken legs and tried to tell us they were wings! We were not regulars, and that was clear. The bartender’s disposition was chilly at best. She clearly favored a regular customer at the bar, she was gushing all over him! Of all the juke joints on the east side, I can pass on this one.

Great owner, good staff… The owner saw my former complaint about the old ice tea, and totally changed the way they make it. 100% improvement. New menu items, great food from scratch, what’s not to like? They’re starting to open earlier and stay open later. I know I’ll be dining here more!

My fella lives 1 block away so on a cold night when we didn’t feel like cooking this was the PERFECT choice! We shared a large house salad with blue cheese dressing. It’s a basic house salad but wooo it was fresh and cold like a good house salad should be and the dressing was rich and chuck full of yummy blue cheese chunks! I loved it! The french onion soup was next. Yummers! I recently went to a more upscale type place and the french onion soup was just OK. The French onion at Bogartz is perfection covered in hot gooey delicious cheese! It was not salty and the broth was perfect, lots of onion and chunky hunks of bread. I loved it!!! I have been thinking about it ever since! We also got 10 wings and had 3 different dipping choices and these little bad boys were on point. Not greasy or mushy. They were crisp and meaty and super good! Best wings I have had in a while. If you live in the area check it out. They make a good bloody mary and have a great beer selection. The staff is way super friendly. Its big too so bring your friends or go alone and hang at the bar! I didn’t have the pizza but I saw several float past me and they looked AMAZING! Can someone bring me a carry out for lunch please? OH all their dessert are made inhouse which is really rare! They have really great specials that run through the week!
