Who we are: The congregation of St. Paul traces its roots in Detroit back to 1824, and 2008 marked the 100th anniversary of the ground breaking for the beautiful Gothic cathedral we call home. This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Cathedral (May 17th, 2011 is the actual day). Special events celebrating this occasion will be posted soon.
Today we are a congregation of incredible and beautiful diversity. On any given Sunday and throughout the week you will find here people whose life-journeys have origins connecting them with the South Asia and the Greater Middle East (India and Pakistan), Africa (Nigeria, Guinea, Uganda and more), Europe and the British Isles, the Caribbean, the Americas. and Pacific Rim nations. This rich symphony of people is made one through faith in Christ Jesus.

History
Established in 1824.
The First Protestant Society was formed in the early days of Detroit’s history. In 1824, the Anglican/Episcopalians formed St. Paul’s which has had several homes before moving to Woodward and Warren in the late 1800’s. The Cathedral was completed in 1911 and celebrated 100 years this past May.
