General Motors Building

This is not the Renaissance Center… The idiots that commented on this page saying it is don’t know what they are talking about. The Ren Cen is not located at 3044 W. Grand Blvd. The Ren Cen is located at 400 Renaissance Center #2500 Detroit, MI 48 243 close to the Canadian Border.

My favorite thing about this building is that it holds one of my most anticipated events of the year. Youmacon takes place within the Ren Cen every Halloween weekend.
The view is gorgeous inside and out. There are many restaurants, restrooms, and businesses inside.
The main floor has some of GM’s latest vehicles set out on display.
Take a visit whenever you can! The building is open to the public and so is Youmacon! You don’t need a badge to just walk around. It’s really quite the spectacle!

It’s a building yes, and very nice shape on the skyscrape of downtown detroit. I like the inside with the different cars that GM has.

Detroiter’s once called this building the Renaissance Building. Once GM purchased it, of course, the name changed. It is now the GM Building and home to the headquarters of General Motors. I must admit many additions have taken place since GM purchased the building.
The architecture was always unique, but many restaurants and shops have opened since the purchase, which is definitely a plus. GM just celebrated their 100^th year anniversary and had the place all decked out. The front entrance was adorned with memorable décor and facts about GM’s history and contribution to the automotive industry. There is a pretty cool movie theater inside as well. Shhhh! It’s never crowded.

Well, we all know the story about GM. This is their premier building, and is a historical landmark. Mammoth and incredibly important.
It is an arresting building. It’s open to the public, so I just peeked inside the entrance and was awed by the curved ceilings and majestic pillars. You can tell that you are standing under a canopy of automotive history.
Driving downtown you can’t miss it, it looks like great glass towers emerging from the pavement.
