Barbecued meats: pork and beef ribs, pork rib tips, chicken, pork chops, pig feet, pork shoulder & turkey wings are cooked on our charcoal-​fired open pit on site

Our own homemade delicious tangy award-​winning Barbecue Sauce (mild, medium or hot)

Seafood: fried shrimp (all meat-​no batter), fried catfish, tilapia & whiting

Homemade vegetables: fresh cut french fries, cole slaw, baked beans, green beans w/​turkey & potatoes, potato salad, collard greens, candied yams, mac cheese, blackeyed peas and spaghetti w/​beef.

Combination Plates are available to satisfy hunger for more than one meat.

Homemade desserts: sweet potato pie, egg custard pie, pound cake

and peach cobbler.

Accomodation for those in a hurry: You may call ahead so that your order will be ready upon your arrival.

History

Established in 1951.

by Joseph Henry and Grace Roberts Owens. Times were hard in the early fifties and the business grew slowly at first because our building is on a side street instead of a main street and is not visible to main thoroughfare traffic. Joe Ann’s had to depend on word-​of-​mouth from the school children who stopped in to buy hamburgers on their way home from school. The children told their parents about Joe Ann’s and their parents then came by to check us out! When the parents tasted our ribs we were off and running!

Joe Ann’s has been founded on a very strong work ethic. We understand that we need to be consistent and get it right every time in order to keep the strong reputation that we have earned. We are pleased that we are currently serving the 4^th generation of some of our customers.

As we stand on the shoulders of Joseph & Grace, we are thankful for their dedication and determination in building a business that is so respected.
