I’ve been working at the New Center One for the last 3 weeks, and this is my go-to for lunch. They have relatively healthy options: salads, soups. They do have some other no-so-healthy things too, like pigs in a blanket in the AM, and tacos at lunch. They have a cooler full of drink options, and a few little tables off to the side. The people working at this place are also lovely. The place can get PACKED around 12:15 — 1:15… and still, the employees are kind and personable. Really like that about this place. I have been one other place to eat in NCO, but I have a hard time deviating from here since I like it so much.

As far as lunchtime options in New Center, this is about average. The sandwiches are mostly a random assortment of ingredients, all on rosemary focaccia(?). The specials are about as good as any cafeteria food. But the prices are not outrageous and the location is convenient for workers in New Center.

Very expensive for the quality and the fact that it’s just a lunch spot. They also have these combos where you have to take the(unhealthy) potato chips and won’t sell some items a la carte. Also they made me the wrong salad and just asked if I would take it anyway and didn’t offer discount.

Lunchtime Global couldn’t be a bigger asset to the city of downtown Detroit. It’s really tough finding a healthy choice for lunch, but this place makes it simple. Not only do they separate themselves with their assortment of soups, but their service shows they care about their clients experience and satisfaction. This place goes the extra mile. Everything is always fresh and there are lots of Gluten free products, which is also rare to find downtown. I can’t wait for them to open another location! A++

Located on the 2nd floor of the New Center One Building, this little place makes a kickass sandwich! I had the«Fancy Cowboy» — roast beef with sautéed mushrooms, roasted red peppers, red onion and provolone on a fresh, delicious herbed focaccia. Had a Faygo pop and Better Made chips on the side, too — so what’s not to love? If you’re in this building, skip the crappy Asian café and other mediocre offerings and head here.

It’s…okay, I guess. When your options are terrible Thai food, everything-tastes-the-same Chinese food, greasy pizza, and greasy hot dogs, a freshly made deli sandwich starts to seem pretty darn appetizing. This what they’re banking on. A note though — lunch here will cost you a bit more($ 6 – 7) than lunch elsewhere in the building. It’s the fancy décor, I’m sure. I would not get the African Peanut soup. It’s watery and punchless. Sandwiches and salads are pretty benign, nothing amazing. They have daily specials on random foods, like lasagna, and these are not bad, if overpriced.

Food is fresh and delicious! Service? Depends on the server’s mood, I guess. All over the place.

Oh my gosh, the thai chicken salad is to die for. In fact everything here is good. I started eating here about five years ago and although parking in the area is difficult, I’m always willing to pay for parking just to eat at Lunchtime. A couple of things to try other than the fabulous thai chicken salad include the summer gazpacheo, uncle paul’s ruben(freshly sliced smoked turkey, cole slaw and swiss cheese with thousand island), and the Tony Saco sandwhich(Salami, ham, provolone, tomato slices, red onions, romaine lettuce and creamy caesar dressing). the only really sad things is that they close early, usually at 3:30pm.

No has reviewed this yet? Seriously? I was spoiled and I used to work within walking distance of this place. It’s in the building across Second from The Fisher Building(Albert Kahn I think) sandwiched between some crappy Mr. Pita and a Papa Romano’s. Now to my point. If you work/live in this area this is a great lunch spot. It’s hours are tailored mostly to the work crowd so don’t try to go here for dinner. They have the best sandwiches/salads/soups and daily specials ranging from quiche to lasagna. A lot of the stuff there is homemade and they sell local brands like Better Made and Faygo. They always have unique soup flavors like African Peanut and Mulligatawny. Chef Steve, who looks ironically like the Seinfeld soup nazi, used to be there all the time but moved to work at the new location Downtown, Lunchtime Global. If you want fresh, local, quality, unique food in Detroit fro lunch go here. And if you want to buy a almost fully punched frequent diners card send me a message. On second thought, I’ll hold on to it just in case I end up working in Detroit again… oh a girl can dream right? :)
