This Detroit location features a Record Booth for recording onto a 6″ Record, an Impossible Project Polaroid Photo Booth, Mold-​a-​rama Machine, Listening Booth, Elephant Motorized Scooter, Stage with occasional in-​store performances, Vinyl Record Pressing Plant (coming soon), and much, much more.

History

Established in 2015.

Third Man Records was originally founded by Jack White in Detroit, MI in 2001. In March of 2009 a physical location was established in Nashville, TN. Third Man Records returned to Detroit’s Cass Corridor with its second retail location — record store, novelties lounge, in-​store performance stage, record booth, and vinyl record pressing plant (coming soon!) — in November 2015.

Visited store yesterday, worst service ever! Staff didn’t even acknowledge our presence. It was like we were invisible! No hello, may we help you or anything. Need to fire staff asap. The bad part, they weren’t that cute at all.

I visited this store with a friend yesterday and i’m blown away with how cool this place is. You can tell JW put a lot of heart and soul into it; the attention to detail is impeccable.
There are 45’s here, t shirts, bookbags, music equipment (want to pick up that turntable!), a recording booth, a listening booth and a soon to come pressing plant.
Seriously, if you have some time, check it out!

Really really cool. From vinyl to turntable accessories to clothing. You can even record yourself on a record, and speaking of records they are installing a record press factory in back, cooool. They also have a listening booth to check out the music before you buy it.

Beautiful store. So much room for activities!!! Great merch and friendly staff. Photo booth and juke box were fun. Extremely fancy tiled bathrooms. Record pressing plant in the works!
