Triple C Steak House

We stopped here for lunch on our way out of town. I have had dinner before here and this time we had lunch. The food is really good and I really liked the mozzarella sticks. The staff is always great!

Love the Wednesday fish buffet. Food is always well prepared and good.
Great salad bar and the beans are fantastic.
You will not be disappointed.

Place is a great steak house. Good buffet. Cheeseburger is great onion rings and fries are also good. Friendly people and they also have drssert!

The steaks are very good. Bread has good flavor. Salad bar could be a little better, but the meat is what draws people, and so far, I haven’t been disappointed.

Really enjoyed eating here. Nice people. Buffet had 3 meat choices that were delicious and tender. Salad bar was fresh and dessert was included. Restrooms were clean. Also enjoyed the western décor with all the cattle brands hanging on the walls. Fun place to visit and great place to eat!

I only give one star because zero is not available. We never got waited on because the manager, waitress and waiter were busy talking to a customer. The customer must work there because she served herself. Additionally the waitress sat down WITH this person instead of waiting on us. Guess they don’t need paying customers.

Ugh, I was not really a fan of this place. We were heading back from Hondo purposely to try a restaurant that we’ve never been to. When we saw this place, I thought it was pretty cute. We walked in and literally there were 7 other families or so and this place was DEAD QUIET. So when my 3 month old baby started crying, literally everyone was getting so annoyed. I was not happy about the environment at all, even when my baby stopped crying, it’s like I had to whisper to talk to my fiancé.
Our server was pretty rude and the food was cold upon arrival to our table. After dinner, I wanted to try one of their pies that they had in their menu, our server said they had none available. Then we had to sit around waiting for our server to bring the check, because she had completely disappeared in the back somewhere.
Needless to say, I will not be rushing back here anytime soon.

Subpar food with 5 star pricing.
The only exception to the subpar food is the ribeye steak. They are very tender, juicy and flavorful! The salad bar is okay, I got rotten cottage cheese off of it once… eeeek!!! However, it’s only thirty minutes to San Antonio, my suggestion is to go ahead and do the drive to the city. Much better food and pricing there.

I have eaten at this steak house quite a bit. Mostly because it is the nearest steak house that is pretty good. I only get the chopped sirloin steak with a baked potato (baked potato is amazing!) and a salad from the salad bar. The food is always pretty good. The only reason for a missing star is it is *overpriced* for the amount of food you get.

The salad bar was a little scosh on items and they restocked by pouring new items directly over old. no wonder tomatoes were mealy. Chicken fried steak & gravy were top notch as was the top butt sirloin. after a do over. order on the lesser done side as they seem to overcook steaks. facility allows smoking on bar side which is a very serious red flag for us…

We’ve been coming here for many years. But not for the steaks. We come for the ‘Klondike’ jumbo shrimp. Klondike’s used to be in Lytle as it’s own restaurant. We went there until Earl Ruud the owner basically retired. We heard later that he was cooking his shrimp at the Triple C. So off we went and yes he was there in the kitchen. He later passed away and his wife Carol carried on the tradition. Needless to say, the Triple C has kept he shrimp going. They are some of the biggest jumbo shrimp I’ve seen. You can get 4 or 6 shrimp with choice of potato, a couple of onion rings and soup or salad. Very filling. If you have room, the homemade pies are great. We’ve had the cocoanut cream and Oreo cookie pies. Delicious! Today I wish the shrimp had been fried for another 30 seconds or so, but they were still good. Really worth the drive out 35 south.

Great place with a great history. The first owner also owned a local slaughterhouse and he needed a place to sell his beef. Enter steakhouse.
Over the the years, we have experienced great hospitality. One year we even had the chef prepare quail that we shot in the field.
I am not sure if it is the nostalgia, but I really like the food and the atmosphere. For around 20 dollars you can get a big juicy ribeye, baked potato, and your choice of either a salad bar or soup of the day.
On the walls there are various mounts and cattle brands from local ranches. And they just recently added a large bar area. Pretty manly.
I was just here over thanksgiving and my opinion was reinforced with a great meal and service. Overall, If you are in the area for business or a hunt, this is the place to check out.

I was back in the area and had to stop by here after ranting and raving about their burgers to a buddy. Ordered the bacon burger with a side salad along with my buddy and two of our other friends ordered a grilled chicken dish. The salad bar was 100X’s better then the last time. The bread was not the same. Our meals came out and my friend said ‘are you serious’ when he saw the size of his chicken. It looked as though they got a chicken breast, split it in two and made two dished out of it. Our burgers came out and I’m pretty sure the patties are frozen and they use a regular bun now. This place is something completely different then what it was a year ago. Wont be coming back here.
