My macbook stopped working suddenly and I was freaking out as I did not have an insurance on it. These guys assured me and in 1 day found and fixed the problem. I am glad they are so close to where I live. The charges were much less than going to the Apple store, so overall a very good experience.

Chris has taken care of all my computers over the years. As a freelance writer, my equipment is crucial to my success. I have always been pleased with the quality, reliability and speed with which repairs have been made. Also, I recently bought a refurbished iMac from Chris and it’s working beautifully.

I came here because I was having troubles with my MacBook Pro. My warranty was expired so I happened to find this place which was pretty near by. The owner said that there would be a $ 50 diagnostics fee like the other review said, but note that this is normal and should be done for thorough repairing. I went to another place before because it was cheaper with no diagnostics tests but my computer was messed up in a short amount of time. I assume it’s because they did not do a diagnostics test and properly find the root of my computer troubles. The owner will give you a call pretty quickly after figuring out what is wrong through the diagnostics test. Then he will go over what needs to be done in order to fix it while explaining the price he will charge you. If you give him the ok to fix it he will do so. I am very pleased with the service!

Pretty much a rip off. You get better prices elsewhere. What’s even more of a rip off is the $ 50 service fee for«diagnosing» the problem. He literally looks at the computer, saying you need to fix certain parts, and expects you to pay 50 for that. Also, customer service is horrid. It feels like he’s trying to take your money rather than help you with your tech difficulties. So prepare for over priced, unnecessary fees. AND a $ 50 fee if you decide not to get the repair there. AND customer service that’s not very welcoming.

I was having issues with the CD burner on my old MacBook Pro. The owner, Chris, told me there would be a $ 50.00 service charge, as he would have to open up the device to get access to the burner. I was also told that I would receive a telephone call, once the problem was diagnosed. Several days later, I called and was informed that he could not find a problem with the burner. A short while later, I went to the store, and Chris informed me that he put in several CDs and burned them without any issues. He DIDNOT have to access the inner workings of the computer. The charge was still $ 50.00. When I questioned the cost, considering all he did was burn a couple of CDs, he kept repeating that he had to run«diagnostics tests» on the computer. When I pressed him to specifically outline the diagnostic tests, he repeated that he burned a couple of CDs. After realizing that the $ 50.00 was more important to him than a satisfied, potential repeat customer, I paid the bill, came home, and wrote this review. My experience is that Compuwiz is the emergency ward version of a computer repair shop: Be prepared to be hit with a $ 50.00 bill just for walking through the door.
