If you only read one part of my review, let it be this: do not hesitate to work with Phyllis and Richard for your event!
You will be in such good hands. They both have a ton of experience and from the beginning made the entire process simple for us. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the two of them. They are both so professional and easy to work with. Phyllis had an extremely quick response time to all of my calls, texts, and emails.
Hiring both Phyllis and Richard to emcee our Chinese wedding reception was hands down one of the best decisions that we made. Weeks after the event, we were still receiving comments from friends and relatives about how fantastic the emcees were. One thing that sets them apart is they were able to emcee the reception in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese with complete fluency, which was necessary for our guests. If I recall correctly, Richard is more comfortable with Cantonese and Phyllis is more comfortable with Mandarin, although they both seemed flawless in communicating in all three languages, which blew me and my fiancé away.
They had a few games that kept the guests engaged and it was nice to see people getting legitimately excited about participating in the games and winning the prizes. The games were really fun for everyone and didn’t involve us doing anything humiliating in front of our friends and family.
Phyllis went above and beyond by helping us with the timeline and she and Richard were critical to making sure that the wedding ran smoothly. I know they offer other services such as wedding planning and event lighting as well. I would recommend Machs Party Studio to anyone that’s starting the wedding planning process.

We had hired Machs Studio as the officiant for our wedding. I was looking for one that can include Cantonese into the ceremony, and Richard delivered it beautifully. It was the perfect amount of English and Cantonese, and it helped my side of the family feel included.

It was such a pleasant experience working with Mach’s team. As an out-​of-​town couple far away from the wedding venue in CA, we were worried about the wedding planning at the beginning. Phyllis helped us plan out every details and recommended us professional and affordable vendors. We booked their officiant service as well as a whole package of DJ/​MC/​lighting on our wedding day. Richard did an amazing job to make sure everything went smoothly. Their bi-​lingual (Mandarin and English) services brought delight to both our parents and friends and kept them involved. We had a wonderful time on our Big Day. Thanks Phyllis and Richard!

We hired Phyllis and her team for our wedding for MC, DJ, lighting and photo booth. When I was looking for an MC, I knew I wanted one that can speak Chinese and English fluently, many weddings I’ve been to have either MCs that speak perfect Chinese and broken English, or worse… perfect Cantonese and Mandarin with a very heavy accent. Machs Party Studio came highly recommended by our venue and some of my other vendors. When I met with Phyllis for the first time I was relieved that she speaks English and Mandarin fluently without any heavy accents. She was very easy to talk to and we made plans very quickly. We pretty much did a lot of the planning during our first meeting followed up by a few emails early on, and a couple of emails close to the wedding date. Phyllis responds to emails very quickly which made my wedding planning so much easier.
She stayed within our budget and gave insight as a wedding coordinator to let us know what we can do to stay within our budget and still have our wedding and reception look the way we want to. Even though she was not our wedding coordinator, she still gave me her opinion when she thinks that we have problems with our floor plan.
I only gave her songs I wanted for the procession, bridal procession, recession and our first dance. She was able to find all the songs that I wanted to play and she started and stopped exactly as I have planned. The survey that she sent out was pretty detailed and I got everything that I wanted the way that I wanted for the wedding and the reception. I didn’t give her a list of other songs I wanted to play at the wedding, but we talked about what type of music should be played at the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I was very happy with what I heard. And many of my guests complimented on the choice of music that was played.
The up lighting they provided was great, it matched the color of our wedding and made the reception area very cozy. The spot lights were perfectly placed to highlight the cake and the bridal table. I really like the custom gobo light with our name and wedding date on there.
The photo booth was great, many of our guests had a lot of fun taking pictures. They provided a variety of props to take the photos with. What I really liked about the photo booth is that its not just a booth like many of the weddings I’ve been to in the past. You can’t fit more than 4 people in those booths and that makes taking group pictures really hard! Phyllis used one of the walls in my cocktail area and created a very nice backdrop and a large open space. it comes with 2 strips of photos, one for the guests to keep and one for them to make a scrapbook page for us. I saw that many of my friends had some great group photos and no one looked like they were being squish! Someone is always by the booth to help with taking pictures and they provided materials for our guests to make a scrap book for us, and that was ready by the end of the evening. We got to see all our family and friends’ photos that night!
Even though I only used Machs Party Studio for MC, DJ, lighting and photo booth, they also provide a variety of other wedding and event related services. With the experience that I have with them I’m sure all their other services are just as good!
Phyllis even sent a follow up email after the wedding, I had a great experience with their services and I will recommend her to anyone, especially my friends and families for future events!

We were trying to find someone to do lighting about a month before our Chinese wedding. Phyllis was the only one that was willing to work on our budget and at such a short notice as well. Lighting turned out great and I would highly recommend them.

My husband and I retained Machs Party Studio for our big day. Our MC, Phyllis, and the two DJs did a great job! From the very beginning, Phyllis was very responsive and always returned my emails promptly. Furthermore, she also was able to give good advice and suggestions; I could tell she was experienced in handling weddings. I had specific requests and Phyllis was very accommodating. At the reception, she was also very adaptable/​flexible whenever our timeline changed. We were very satisfied with the services provided by Machs Party Studio and highly recommend them! Our wedding was two weeks ago, we are happy with the help of Phyllis. She is very organized and pays attention to every detail, so the whole wedding went very smoothly. I have to mention Richard, who is our officiant as well as Emcee. He really did a good job, he entertained our guests very well. We received a lot of compliments from our guests for such an amazing Emcee we have. Most guests told us that’s the best wedding they have attended in U.S. We will definitely recommend to others.

We had a great experience with Mach’s! They are very friendly, responsible and responsive through email (the pre-​planning details). On the day of the wedding, they arrived very early to set up and get ready for the ceremony and the banquet (which were at different locations). We had some videos and slideshows going and they were willing to help with making sure those ran smoothly. They even stayed half an hour beyond their contract time and didn’t even charge us for it (even though it clearly stated on their contract that overtime would be charged $ 150/​hour)!! SOO NICE!!! I highly recommend their DJ services for your wedding!

Richard did an amazing job as Emcee of our wedding. We had to deal with bad weather and awful traffic that day. It completely threw the timeline off schedule.

We used Machs Party Studio for DJ & MC services, Phyllis was our MC and we had a very pleasant experience with Phyllis, she’s very entertaining and bilingual in both Mandarin /​English which is a HUGE plus for a Chinese Mandarin speaking family.
I would highly recommend Phyllis for both dj & mc services for friends/​families wedding events as she never disappoint you and would coordinate everything with you ahead of time and make sure everything goes smooth on the day of your event.

I would definitely recommend all services at Machs Party Studio for a wedding. We hired Phyllis as our wedding planner and Richard as our MC with the whole package of DJ and lighting. I had a wonderful wedding day with their help. Phyllis coordinates everything smoothly and kept up with time. She also referred very good vendors for us and helped us negotiate a very attractive rate. Richard is the best MC we would ever expected in the US. He provided the service half in English and half in Chinese. It was a challenge for him since some of our guests only understand Chinese and some of them only understand English. I have to admit that his Chinese is not perfect, but it was his energy that kept every guest engaged. His performance was really beyond our expectation.

I am a wedding coordinator in the Orange County area and this was our first time working with Mach Studio. It was such a pleasure working with Phyllis and Richard and their team. They blew me away with their professionalism and how courteous they were. They have been in business for a long time and I like working with vendors who’s humble and work as a whole team to make the bride and groom’s day perfect. My client booked Mach Studio for dj, mc, lighting and photobooth and I was very pleased with everything they did. Richard our MC kept the crowd going from start to finish and the dance floor was packed the whole night and that impressed me the most since it was a small wedding of 120 guests. We used Machs Party Studio for DJ, emcee, lighting, and coordination («Yes I Do» coordination package) for our wedding on 3÷21÷15.
Richard, our emcee, captured the crowd with his personality, jokes and games. He was able to engage everyone from our Americanized friends to Chinese relatives due to his fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. There were lots of laughter that night, and many complimented us on our choice of emcee.
Of course, none of the wedding details would’ve been possible without Phyllis the coordinator. Throughout wedding planning, she was our primary contact. We trusted her advice drawn from her many years of experience. The timeline she created for us included everything we wanted. At the same time, she did not hesitate to let us know when an idea was not practical.
The DJ did a great job playing songs my husband picked out. We also booked our florist through Machs Party Studio. The florist worked with our budget while making our venue beautiful.
In the end, we recommend Machs Party Studio for your wedding needs.

I hired them for DJ and emcee service for my wedding banquet. Phyllis was very helpful and organized. She made sure to find out and help me figure out the banquet timeline
Richard was my emcee and he was great. His guidance was invaluable during our wedding banquet. I also had a lot of fun with the games he hosted.
I really enjoyed the music selection the DJ played during my event, which he based on my two song requests (grand entrance and first dance songs).
Overall I was very satisfied with my service. They were always ready to answer any questions.

Incredibly disappointed in the service provided. We hired Richard with the expectation that he would speak more Chinese at the wedding, but instead of providing the services he offered when we signed him, he mostly spoke English and barely entertained the party. Nothing was discussed before announcements of events and he left fairly early in the night. What kind of master of ceremony doesn’t work harder to keep the party rolling? The MC we hired from Mach bridal services.
Other reasons for the disappointment? We bought three gifts for three separate games to be played throughout the night, but instead of speaking with the couple about game ideas or at least how many games we would like, he played one dull game with our guests. Most of our guests were left wondering why there weren’t more games or at least more interactive games played.
Another disappointment? Rather than break up the speeches of the night (we had four total, one from each matron of honor and best men) he had all four people speak consecutively. Who does that? That’s just a sure fire way to bore the audience. especially an audience with at least half the guests not fully understanding English. He could’ve thought better and had just two speak at a time. There was plenty of time throughout the night to space out the speaking events.
I would not recommend this service to anyone. I was very disappointed. Especially because he presented himself so well at our initial interview.
Cheers to those of you who had better experiences but I was not so fortunate.
Tip? If you choose to hire them? Make sure you give them very specific expectations otherwise you will be disappointed. He basically did the bare minimum. Fail

I went to my friend’s wedding last year and they hired Phyllis and Richard as their wedding planner & MC. I felt it was a very happy wedding and thought if one day I’m getting married, I would want to have a happy wedding too! Phyllis & Richard did not disappoint us. All my guests were having so much fun and the whole night went so smoothly. The lighting and the centerpiece were so beautiful, even the music were so great! I got so many compliments about my wedding.
Phyllis even helped me to set up all my sign-​in, album table & food table due to my tight schedule. When my helpers arrived at the hotel, everything were ready. All they need to do is to greet & sign-​in the guests. My husband and I were so glad we hired them for our wedding. Thanks Phyllis & Richard!

My husband and I had a very specific idea of the draping we wanted for our wedding reception, and up until about 6 weeks before the wedding we still hadn’t found someone who could drape our venue the way we wanted.
I found Phyllis on Unilocal,emailed her, and received a response within the first 24 hours. We met at my venue and she gave me a rough estimate. We originally had a vendor for linens, but Phyllis offered to match the estimate they gave us, so we got our tablecloths and chair covers from Machs, too.
There were many things I forgot about in the planning process, but Phyllis always made sure all the details were in order. Even when I realized about 3 days before the wedding that we needed an extra 10 tablecloths, Phyllis came through. The reception was absolutely gorgeous, and everyone commented on how our venue was completely transformed. On top of giving us exactly what we wanted for our reception, the price was the best we were ever quoted.
If you go with Machs Party Studio, you won’t be disappointed.
