Yojié Japanese Fondue

Still love the food! The service makes me so sad though. The employees work their asses off and can’t quite keep up. Management seriously needs to put more than three servers on a Friday night. The place was packed and every person working was running the entire time. Get with it management! Appreciate your employees and give them some help! Food is awesome and service would be too if you gave it a chance!

We opted for the spicy miso and regular shabu for the lunch AYCE. Broth is light on flavor but gets better as you cook the meat and veggies. The beef was of good quality and fish was flavorful. Veggie, rice, noodle, and sauce station were fine. Lunch AYCE is a pretty good value.
I recommended paying extra for the flavored broth. The regular shabu is practically boiled water.

At Yojie, you order your own soup. Usually if you are with friends, it’s two soups per pot. I came in a group of four and we got two pots, each of us digging out of our own soup preference. The waiters bring you meats and drinks while you grab your own vegetables, sauce, rice, and noodles.
After quickly being seated, I ordered the AYCE dinner for $ 16.99. (Lunch is $ 14.99.) Instead of choosing a soup base that would cost an extra $ 2 – 3, my friends and I each stuck with shabu shabu, which is no extra cost. It’s basically water and seaweed, but you can pick up some soup base flavoring from the stand with sauces. As for meat, I would recommend just getting beef. Some of you may enjoy the pork belly, but I personally didn’t because it contained too much fat. I don’t hate pork belly, but it’s not for me when it comes to hot pot.
The vegetables seemed fresh and clean. I tried both the brown rice and the ramen noodles. Although I generally eat shabu shabu with rice, it was very enjoyable with ramen noodles.
Long story, short. It was tasty. Service is attentive and also on task. Parking is very easy to find as it is located in a huge plaza.

I went back with grandma and she was telling me she didn’t want hot pot. Well let’s just say, after the meal, she couldn’t wait to bring her friends back.
Food quality was good as always, especially the fish. Those thick cut could hold in the boil broth and delicious as hell. All the self serve items were rotated often and was never empty.
Service was most excellent. When I walked in, I asked the girl if they had a seat that had a back so my grandma could lean on. She apologized since they didn’t have one, then she looked around and sat us all the way in the back where the bench could be push against the wall for grandma to lean on. Throughout the meal she didn’t forget about us and kept coming back to see if we want to order more or wanted more water. If slave girl would allow a no. 2, I would totally recruit her on the spot.

This place really held it doe when it comes to a dining experience. Was my first time trying Shabu Shabu, and glad it was here. Word of advise, they do get very busy. And the customer turnover is pretty slow. A lot of patrons seem to take their sweet time when dining here. They give you a few choices for your broth, a few choices for your meats and then you go to the serve yourself area for your veggies /​toppings /​sauces. It would be nice if they had mushrooms, but the spinach makes up for it I guess. Only reason giving them four stars is cause when they are busy, it’s kind of hard to get serviced, part of this seemed to be understaffing, and overworked employees. That is an easy fix. Some greedy owners never will though. If you come here, tip the bus boy /​girl, they work hard.

This is a very simple all you can eat shabu place. There’s beef, chicken, pork or fish to select from and the server will bring out as much as you like. The self serving station had napa cabbage, lettuce, spinach, carrot, onion, tofu, (3) types of noodles, white and brown rice. They have a few dipping sauces.
Pro: service is good, quality of meat is decent
Con: you have to pay extra for flavored broth ($ 2 – 4) each
Will come again, but probably for lunch not dinner.

Enjoy the hot pots but also had a good dessert– chocolate fondue! It is similar to little sheep hot pot that my husband and I always went to in Northern California. We were thrilled to find one down here. We went this place for first time with my sister and her daughter when they were in town to check an university nearby. We all enjoyed. Only different is we have to wait for hot pots to boil. While the ones we went always have ready to cook now. We had to wait for broth to boil so we could put meats but it is way good idea to enjoy the conservations before eating !! We will come back for sure! We did feel awkward because it is different atmosphere than we used to.
However wished more veggies like mushroom, Napa cabbages, kale something like that

I went for the dinner AYCE which was like $ 17 (+$ 2 for spicy miso broth and +$ 3 tonkatsu broth) There isn’t a lot of variety to choose from: Beef, pork, chicken and fish. (I like the beef and fish the most, the quality is pretty decent. The pork has a bit too much fat.) The AYCE comes with unlimited white or brown rice, a few types of sauces, and a few types of veggies… not much to choose from.
I think I prefer World Hotpot then this place. For a few $ more, you get way more variety in the veggies and in the meats!!! AYCE LAMBBBBB!!! that place is more worth it I think.

When I first walked in, I was immediately impressed with the clean and modern décor. So far so good right? Not really.
I came on a relatively non-​busy weeknight and you can tell how ridiculously understaffed they are. There were only two waitresses and honestly, they didn’t seem to be very good at their jobs. After they took my order, it was very difficult trying to flag them down for any service. They were just standing around and trying to avoid eye contact with customers. I was having issues with my pot because my broth was not boiling and they weren’t being very helpful. They just kept saying, «you have to wait.» I’m sorry, but I’m not going to cook my meat in lukewarm broth. I was even able to place a finger onto the side of the pot. That’s how NOT hot it was.
The AYCE part sounds tempting and great, but the quality of the food was less than average at best. The prices look good initially, but if you want any of the flavored broths, it’s an additional cost. It ended up being around a little over 20 dollars each person for crappy quality hot pot. The meat was frozen and the veggies were always running out and not stocked in a timely matter.
I did not have a good experience eating here and I would advise anyone to take your money elsewhere.

I was actually quite surprised by this place, knowing that I have a lot of people saying that Jazzcat and Ichi Ichi are better option over in city of industry. This place is pretty good and it’s the best AYCE Shabu Shabu I have been to, considering it’s the only one I have been too. I would definitely go here again.
*Spicy Miso — The broth was not that bad. It’s not that salty. It would have an even flavor for spicy miso’s I have had.
**AYCE Beef — I am actually surprised at the amount of meat they offer in one serving even before getting a second serving.
***AYCe Pork — I slightly liked this more than the beef. It had a nice tender feel and it just generally taste good.
****Noodles — The only thing that didn’t stand up against the none ayce places i’ve gone to is the noodles. They didn’t really have a good texture and would not get again.
As an experienced Shabu Shabu goer, I knew how I wanted things and it carried all the things in the bar area that I needed to have a great shabu experience. I would compare the bar similar to the one in ichi ichi. I would say its even better in that stance. Thank you for the experience and I plan to go back again.

Yojie is an AYCE shabu shabu restaurant. The best thing about eating here is the value. For about the same price as regular shabu shabu restaurants, you can gorge yourself on a choice of beef, chicken, beef belly, pork belly and fish. But as with anything in life, there are trade-​offs. The quality isn’t bad but it ain’t the best.
The beef is sliced paper thin so while a platter of beef looks huge, it’s not that much once it is boiled down. Also the fish is not that great. I think they’ve downgraded on the fish recently. It’s not suitable for shabu.
The base price comes with kombu stock. For an extra charge, you can get miso or sukiyaki. I don’t think the upgrade is really necessary. There are enough seasonings offered at the do-​it-​yourself veggie, noodles, condiment station that you can make your broth as flavorful as you like.
You won’t find premium options at the veggie bar but you’ll find the usual cabbage, carrots, daikon (nice option), onions, spinach and udon and ramen noodles. The sauce options are ponzu and sesame sauce. I like the do-​it-​yourself here. It beats having to wave down a server to beg for more sauce.
Overall, its a good option when you’re super hungry. They’re usually not super busy so getting seated on a weekend shouldn’t be a problem.

I haven’t been to many hotpot/​fondue places in the past, but this one is the best I’ve been to so far. Walking in this place you can tell it has an upbeat and younger generation feel. There’s window designs, upbeat music and some TV’s hanging from all around. AYCE price of $ 14.99 for lunch or $ 16.99 for dinner is amazing! You start off by picking a base for your soup and the meats that you’d like to have. Meat choices are Angus beef, pork belly, beef belly, chicken or fish. While waiting for the server to bring it out, you can go to the self-​serve station and get your veggies, rice, noodles and sauces.
On the other hand, they also have set menus and prices if you don’t want to do the AYCE. But for that price, why wouldn’t you?! I always have to opt for a Coke or Orange Crush when eating here. I don’t know why, but it seems to pair well with the food for me. By the end of the night though I can’t even do dessert. I’m too full. They do have chocolate fondue, ice cream and bananas foster to name of few of their dessert if you’re interested.
The service here is really one above the rest. The lady who was serving us was really on her game on getting us what we needed when we needed it. There were 4 of us, and we were asking her for things left and right and not once did she have an attitude or look as if she was upset. She actually kept repeating, ‘No Problem, if you need anything else just let me know’. For these waitresses I like to tip a little bit extra since they offer the excellent service to us to make our dining experience that much better. Also, it makes me feel welcomed and that they appreciate my business. I definitely will be coming back here.

What can get any better for $ 16.99/pp for AYCE dinner along with some good company? Definitely give this place a try. You have the option for flavored broths, which include shabu-​shabu (seaweed in water), sukiyaki (sweet soy sauce based) +$ 1.99, spicy miso +$ 1.99, and tonkatsu ramen broth *NEW* +$ 2.99. To clarify, it is $ 16.99 + the broth price.
With the AYCE option, you get unlimited Angus beef, pork belly, fish, and chicken and access to the extra sides and sauces. The sides bar includes: steamed rice, brown rice, vermicelli, clear glass noodle, ramen noodle, cabbage, romaine lettuce, spinach, tofu, daikon, ponzu sauce, gomen (peanut buttery sesame sauce), garlic, onion, green onion, and other spices. I also like how they include spices and a sesame crusher at your dining table for you to add into your sauce bowl.
You can also opt to add Sapporo draft beer, $ 5.50/glass, to your meal. They have some flat screen TVs in the middle of the room for those who want to catch their favorite sports during meal time. I’ve been here twice and the service has been consistently great. I would come back and order the Tonkatsu ramen broth *NEW* and the Spicy Miso broth again. Don’t come in with high expectations of additional veggies and things that other places have offered and you’ll be fine!

Excellent service for AYCE here. I have expected this place to be crowded but when I got here, nobody was here! Sweet, I got seated right away by Endy? She was so patient to explain the menu since it was my first time here.
The ambience in here is very modern and clean! AYCE for $ 14.99 at lunch hours and $ 16.99 for dinner hours. What a deal! They also have like a salad bar style to get your sauces, veggies and noodles. I highly recommend this shabu shabu place for all you good eaters.

First time having shabu shabu and won’t be the last. I was a little confused on how its all supposed to be cooked. There wasn’t much explanation. A fellow patron had to give us some pointers on the dipping sauces and what flavors to use for the meat and noodles which was very much appreciated. After we got that bit down everything tasted pretty good. The Angus beef was perfectly sliced to cook. The ramen noodles were a great combination as well as the Chinese lettuce. I tried the sesame sauce, Sriracha, and Ponzu with the Angus beef but I gotta say I preferred the sesame sauce above all.
They were pretty busy so the customer service lacked a bit but I could see why. This location was in a great area also so we might be back here soon

AYCE Shabu Shabu for $ 15? OH HELL YEA… or so I thought.
Came here for the first time during lunch on a Holiday and expected a line out the door, but only half the restaurant was filled. There was 1 server for the entire store and 1 employee in the back cutting the meat. The server took us to our seats and just left us there… so how does this work? Do I start grabbing my own AYCE items? Where’s my soup? An explanation would be nice! We waited a while before she brought half our water and I had to ask her how to order.
Basically, you grab your own rice/​noodle, vegetables, and sauces at one side of the room. You’ll have to flag down the waiter every time you want a meat refill though. We asked for 2 plates of meat for the 4 of us, but only got one plate every time we asked. She tells us that they’re understaffed and they’re still cutting the meat, but it literally took her 30 minutes to bring out another plate. You would think she’ll move faster as the only server for the entire restaurant, but she took her time walking around and it was almost impossible to flag her down!
For the 4 of us, we mainly ordered beef and shared a plate of fish. Beef pieces were REALLY REALLY fatty. I’m pretty sure she gave us beef belly instead. Fish was decent, but not that great either. The AYCE vegetables were practically empty and they were so understaffed that they didn’t bother refilling them. She never checked up on our table, never refilled our soups, never refilled our water. I’m REALLY REALLY disappointed in this place :(Will not be coming back again…

Yes the meat quality isn’t that great but hey, what do you expect for an AYCE? This is my first time trying an AYCE for shabu-​shabu and I must say that I really enjoyed Yojie! I know their other locations don’t offer AYCE but the Diamond Bar does and also a regular menu as well. It’s a narrow restaurant with plenty of seating that caters to large groups or a couple. The layout is very modern + industrial with all of the metal over your head and the artwork on the walls is pretty awesome.
The first time I came here, I got the AYCE with the spicy miso soup base and my friend got the sukiyaki. The spicy miso was your typical spicy miso as in it was good but there wasn’t a wow factor to it. However, I tried my friend’s sukiyaki and I was hooked from there on out. The soup base was sweet and delicious. Also, dipping the meat in the egg was a cool experience as well. You can pick your own vegetables, sauces, noodles, and rice but the meat they bring out to you. We ordered all of the meats but I’d have to say beef and chicken are my favorite. I’d pass on the fish and pork belly, but then again it is AYCE so why not try it all?
I recently had a surprise birthday dinner here yesterday and the service is great. Our waitress was very attentive and she brought out a bottle of sake for us on the house (thanks!) The whole staff participated in my birthday surprise and it was really sweet. It made my birthday that much better. Overall, the AYCE is a great deal when you’re not too picky on the quality of your beef. The soup base makes up for it though!

I think it’s the only one that does the all you can eat option. It tastes the same as the other locations. I love the self serve station so you don’t have to bother the busy waiters to get you more of anything. It’s a great deal for shabu shabu. The location is great. Lots of parking. Not much to say but this place is worth the money. AYCE lunch is around 12 dollars and for dinner is 17.

Clean, sophisticated, and artsy interior. Informative and insightful waiter. $ 14.99 AYCE lunch. Chose Shabu-​Shabu and Sukiyaki broths to boil our meats in. Ordered beef, chicken and fish. Had ramen and thin rice noodles, plus some brown rice. Had spinach, tofu and carrots. So fresh. So good. So clean. So serene. Slowly and sincerely we began to fall in love with this place.
Other people started to come in and from what I witnessed, they lit up the restaurant with fellowship and fun times. Made my birthday feel extra special. This style of DIY cooking is great for individuals, couples, families, friends and groups. Cannot wait to come again!
