Rogers Malt Shoppe

Called Malt Shoppe and doesn’t even make good malts. Very trashy place and poorly operated. Poor customer service. Children of the manager were running around like crazy and being very loud and obnoxious. They were running through the kitchen area without shoes. Would not go back again.

Home town restaurant, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. When blue bell ice cream is in stock they’ll serve it nice and cold and those warm or even hot days in Texas. It’s just like an old malt shop. There are even the older guys that meet here every day and talk over coffee. You can even see the local police, fire and ems eating and talking when they’re not busy. During campaign season even see a local politician in here for coffee or tea. Every body know everyone in here the more you come in the more they will get to know you.

Wednesday after 5:00, all burgers half price. Two double meat bacon cheeseburgers and an order of fries for $ 8.60. Good food, great price.

Place has a dated appearance, but it was clean and quiet. Ordered the #1 breakfast which consisted of, two eggs, two sausages, two strips of bacon, pancakes, and two pieces of toast along with OJ for $ 9.19. The meal was just like eating at home and the waitstaff was attentive. Overall was a relaxing experience, would return and bring family.

This place once offered the finest hamburgers in Galveston County. But has since declined over the years when the place was sold. Prices are fine but the burgers are not what they once were. I could make a better one at home, quite frankly. Just average now. The good ol’ days for this place are long gone and with all the competition out there now I don’t see them coming back.

Been there a couple of times since my last review and I have to say, the cheeseburger has been amazing both times. 6.50 for large cheeseburger, steak fries and a coke. Hard to beat.

Burger & malt shop that also serves good mexican food, with a lot of items on the menu, as well as breakfast. I do like this place, especially the burgers, & the décor reminds you of a classic 60’s drive-​in malt shop.

Smell so bad and wait staff so bad we left prior to eatting. They did have a Dj playing on Friday night

Great breakfast. Quaint atmosphere with lots of locals. Friendly family staff and great meal. We will be back.

We’re new to the area from Washington state, and my husband is gone quite frequently which lives me alone with my two preschool aged children for days on end. This usually ends up with one or two days of good behavior bribed by ice cream. So, after said vibe, I headed out of the house to find some good ice cream. My intentions were to go to sonic as it’s the closest fast food joint to my house, but then I saw this place next door. It looked a little dumpy, but I figured I should give some business to the locals and we headed in. There wasn’t a soul in there aside from the staff, which is fine, since my children act like heathens when there is ice cream involved. They had a nice selection of Blue Bell ice cream including one atrocity that was vanilla ice cream colored with blue, red, and yellow food coloring. Regardless, we got two gigantic scoops of ice cream for $ 3, and I can’t complain about that price tag. The ice cream my kids ate left them multicolored, as well as the table we were sitting at, and when I tried to clean it the lady working assured me my mess was okay and that she would handle it. I like that, especially after working in food service for so long, I know how annoying cleaning a table after some kids have destroyed it can be.
The food menu was a little everywhere from what I read as I ate my ice cream cone, burgers and fries… enchiladas… but prices looked reasonable and I wouldn’t mind trying some of the food sometime. The cleanliness of the facility could benefit from a good scrubbing, but eh. Overall, we’ll definitely go back, even if its just for some quiet ice cream eats.
