Love, love this place! The staff is incredible, warm and friendly. The food is on point and the ambience is wonderful! I recommend it! It’s a fabulous place to come :)

We had a party of 20 for lunch, they had our table ready when we arrived. They were very quick to get our drinks and food orders. Nice staff, friendly and fabulous chili burger. I love this place!

I was not a fan of Buds. First and foremost my father and I were not greeted by a host or hostess for about 15mins after arriving. We were very confused because a huge sign said please wait to be seated… but no one was there to seat us. After finally getting seated after I had to approach someone myself to actually be seated, it took just as long as it took to get seated to take our drink order. I typically would have just walked out at this point but my dad insisted it would get better… and it did not. Our food was just meh. I really thought that this was a local place that people just raved about… it’s not. I had a turkey pesto sandwich and the pesto was runny and just a huge mess. Their fries were delicious but I mean how do you mess up fries? My dad order a pastrami sandwich and not only was it COLD, it was quite dry. I definitely won’t be coming back here again… sorry Dixon.

We were in the neighborhood visiting the nearby VA National Cemetery and needed a lunch spot. Bud’s was recommended with a suggestion to try the French Dip. Four of the eight people in our group ordered it. They all raved about it. My husband wants to go back and my mother-in-law said it was the most tender beef she had ever had. The Beef Dip gets a 5! The rest of the lunches were just ok. The hamburgers got a 3.5. My Chinese Chicken salad was a 3. I had the dressing on the side and the small container was ½ filled with large granules that turned out to be sugar and salt. The dressing was definitely not mixed correctly. Service was acceptable.

I’m so underwhelmed by this Dixon mainstay. The food is just«ok» — I don’t feel that their food is anything special that makes me want to go there. The only reason I do visit is the limited options in Dixon that serve American food in a sit down setting. Their breakfast is by far their best meal. If I was a betting woman, which I am, I’d put money on the fact that a good portion of their food comes from the freezer or a can versus fresh.

We received excellent service at Bud’s from all staff; the hostess, waiter, bussers and chef! We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed the tacos and prime rib. Delicious!

Best place for great food and friendly fabulous service. If you are looking for a great place for your organization’s fundraiser look no further. Bud’s understands the importance of fundraising and is the best in the business. They are very accommodating and generous when it comes to giving back to the community. Thanks Bud’s!

We stopped at Bud’s going through Dixon from Reno. We stopped in hope of just getting a light lunch. Bud’s is located in a old building with a lot of character. It’s spacious with a large old bar. We walked in and it took a few minutes before we were noticed for seating. Once seated in a large and spacious booth, we had to wait at least 15mins just to get water. We asked 3 times before we finally got it. Honestly, I was ready to pass out from thrust. Finally, our order was taken. We ordered the veggie sandwich with fries. While we waited a family was seated behind us, with a very whiny and obnoxious child. Thankfully, the father finally took her outside for a ‘come to Jesus’ chat and the noise and whining finally stopped. That is not the restaurants fault, but it was exceedingly annoying, which added to our growing grumpy mood, while we waited even longer for the sandwiches. The sandwiches finally arrived, on two slices of store bought thin whole wheat bread that wasn’t much of a step up from white bread variety, we all know isn’t good for you. In between those two slices was one piece of lettuce, a sliced tomato and plastic pretend swiss cheese. It had mayo, I think. This was by far the worse sandwich I have ever had. Sincerely, ever. Bud’s owners need to learn how to make a good veggie sandwich, or take it off the menu. I’m giving them a bit of advice on veggie sandwiches. Good artisan bread, lots of veggies, and sprouts, avoid the cheese, but if you must, use real good cheese. Real swiss, with real holes. Not something that would burst into flames if you put a match near it. The plus side of this adventure into Bud’s, the fries were excellent. One thing I always do is check out the bathroom. A clean bathroom, means a clean kitchen. The bathroom was very clean. The only reason I gave Bud’s 2 stars, 1 is because on Unilocal you’ve got to give at least a star to post, the second star was for the fries and clean bathroom. All the food in the pictures look excellent. Not sure what happened to this sandwich, I guess the cook didn’t get the memo on how to make it.

Service was really slow but I guess that’s what you should expect going for brunch on a Sunday. All servers were very friendly and food was good and well priced.

Stopped in 10÷24÷15. It was after 12pm and they were still serving breakfast. Had the blueberry pancakes w/bacon. It was excellent, pancakes with the blueberry cooked in as opposed to a compote(which I hate) and the bacon was crispy. Also had the iced tea, brewed, also very good. Wife had chorizo & eggs w/country potatoes. Tried the potatoes and did not care for them, dry on the outside ok on the inside. I prefer my potatoes a little greasy. Service was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. All in all, a positive experience.

Stopped for some munchies on the way to the corn made, and found myself at Buds. My kind of bar. Stuffed animal corpses on the wall. Children and old folks living in harmony — hecka chill status. The michelada was killer. The French dip and tomato soup was downright death metal, I’ll tell you what. 10⁄10 would smash through once more. Thor’s banquet hall has some competition.

Whenever I’m on my way to Tahoe, I make sure to stop at Bud’s. Last Saturday, I tried their breakfast burrito, and man was that good. The burrito really is two meals, unless u have a rotund midsection like me and u can polish off the burrito in one sitting. It is very flavorful, and stuffed with plenty of breakfast meats. The salsa is the icing on an already flavorful meal. Can’t wait to come back.

I found myself in Dixon at dinner time on a Saturday evening. The place where I’d planned to eat had unexpectedly closed their kitchen, so I had to find a new place. That place turned out to be Bud’s Pub and Grill. On a Saturday, there was one section of the bar with the TV playing a football game, and àt the end of the bar, there was another TV playing a BBC programme featuring Judi Dench. Cool that Dixon has a bar that serves both tastes in television programming. The food: my dining companion ordered the ribeye steak dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes. I ordered the hamburger with a small dinner salad. While we waited for our entrees, the server brought us some warm bread and butter and water. The bread tasted fresh from the oven and was quite good! They’d given us a generous amount. They have free WiFi, so you can surf a little while waiting for our plates. The salad that came with the burger was a pleasant surprise. It was tasty and well-tossed. The burger was very good, cooked medium as ordered, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My dining companion said his ribeye was savory and delicious, that his mashed potatoes were good, but the green beans were overcooked and had no crunch in them. The service was good, but the server seemed a little overworked on this busy night. I’d like to return on a somewhat less busy night, sometime.

Love love love Bud’s. They have excellent food for every meal. Their breakfast specials are generous portions and a lot cheaper than the chain breakfast restaurants in town. Always choose the red potatoes over hash browns. Their house dressing, dill, is amazing. Must try. My mom loves the bud burger. The Lucy’s salad and the Cajun chicken green salad are fabulous.

When I arrived, the place was packed. The only table available was a small one in the corner. So there I sat for a bit– the bartender/waiter even came over to take my order. It was Taco Tuesday so I indulged in a number of tacos and a beer. My vote went to the carnitas taco. Watched the 9er game in peace– no one was/became out of control and I enjoyed my tacos at the bar when some of the patrons left. I will be back. Perhaps on another Tuesday.

Buds is an old fashioned bar with a restaurant. Charming old style feel. Classic menu with old school eats. The bar is separate from the dining area. Stick your head into the bar — it is fun. Brought our kids and they loved it. Service is friendly and had a small town feel. The waitress really knew the menu and had great recommendations. Good food. Potato salad was really good. Hot roast beef sandwich ‘Richards way’ was fantastic!

Good Food. I enjoy buds. Their steaks/chops are great. I really enjoy the blackened prime rib. Dinner prices are not cheap but they are not exorbitant. Went in for lunch recently and felt that it was decent. I definitely prefer their dinners. However, brunch/lunch prices are great. Most expensive thing was the tri-tip sandwich at $ 9.99. Meats are always tasty here and the tri-tip sandwich was no exception. Onion rings were fantastic. Portion felt a little small but you can check out the pictures and decide for yourself. Service was good. Laid back and got the job done. Will definitely come back.

We keep trying to give Bud’s a chance but it’s just not working out… We avoided the place for years while the owner’s son-in-law was a fixture and well-known nuisance in the establishment(inciting bar fights, throwing drinks on patrons, etc). But once he went to the pen for child molestation(great guy) we figured we’d return and give the bar/restaurant a fair shot. The food is decent. Nothing to write home about but decent enough(and the only reason they even deserve one star) but the service is downright terrible. Most recent example(I have a few but I’ll spare you) — we made 12:30pm reservations for Mother’s Day yesterday and here’s how it went upon arriving at 12:22pm: 1. Table not ready until 12:45pm(no biggie… we understand it’s a busy day) 2. Finally ask a busboy at 1:05pm if we can get some water and menus 3. Ask another busboy at 1:15pm if a waitress can please stop by(mind you, we have a 2yr old and a 4yr old with us… we need reasonably prompt service!) 4. Indifferent, arrogant owner’s daughter finally comes by with no apologies to take our order, trailed by her 10 year old son who literally tosses a pile of napkins on our table(what the?). 5. Lackluster food comes out 30mins later(1:45pm), an hour and 15 minutes after we were seated! 6. We’re forced to ask the only other waitress in the restaurant if we can get our bill. It is now 2:15pm. Almost two hours after we arrived :( We understand that Mother’s Day is busy for any establishment but the establishment knows that too… and they generally prepare accordingly!!! Why were there only two waitresses on a holiday?!? Your entire staff should’ve been there! And if you don’t have enough staff to handle it then cut back reservations or hire temps. This place is ridiculous and we won’t be back.

Really poor service and either they discriminate or don’t know how to service their clients based on first arrivals. My group and I waited over and hour and a Half to get our food and service. They serviced other people that arrived after us.(Our server was a woman I’m her early 50s, short hair and glasses) she seemed arrogant and indifferent. The food was about a 2 star but it was not worth the wait or the money. The hash browns were cold, the biscuit was reheated in the microwave, a large juice is actually a small. This was our first and last time at this place. It seems as if you have to of a certain race and wear specific tip of clothing to fit int this place, get served and feel welcomed.
