I’m not going to try and impress anyone with fancy words and phrases. What I am going to try to do is explain how much of a hidden jewel this restaurant truly is. First is the location. I hear a lot of people comment about the location. It may not be in line with all the chain restaurants in Fort Wood or Waynesville but to me that’s a good thing. A unique and wonderful place as this should have just as unique a location. The décor is perfect for the setting in which it resides. It has a slightly rustic and aged feel to it and still emits the classy vibe in as natural a way as going to a favorite country cottage. But the food and staff are what makes the real attraction here. The chef and all his people working there really care about every dish tasting it’s best which I and my family can attest to wholeheartedly. If you love Italian style food you will love this place and want to come back again and again. Thanks to the chef, his daughter and all the staff for making another memorable dinner for my family and me to enjoy and return for many more.

Excellent service and delicious food. You might have to wait a little bit to get seated but it’s worth it. The restaurant sits up on a hill with a valley below — it’s a beautiful view so I recommend going early enough in the day to enjoy it. Lindy is my favorite server — you feel like you are her only table she is so attentive. She makes the experience feel very personal and special. The food is great. I love the spinach artichoke dip, that is sometimes offered. I have enjoyed all the different entrees I’ve tried — chicken Marsala is probably my favorite. One critique, I’m a big cannoli fan but I would steer clear of these, the pastry and filling were both light, not the crunchy shell and dense ricotta filling I expected. However, the tiramisu is fantastic. Go hungry and enjoy!!!

I was in town with family and saw the reviews of this place and had to try it. When I parked outside, I was skeptical cause it was also really dark at night. But as soon as I walked in, it’s beautiful. The set up was very professional and classy. We sat and ordered immediately cause we were hungry. Not too long, our food came out. The chef followed through shortly after and greeted us, which was nice and what I expected cause of the reviews. We ordered the cheese tortellini salsiccia, and the seafood palermo, both came with house salads and rosemary bread with butter. They were all so delicious, we ended up sharing! Lastly, we ordered the cheesecake and bread pudding. All I can say now is, we are happily full and satisfied. The meals were large portions and priced fairly. Thanks for having us.

Wow! Can’t believe I waited so long to give this place a try. Great service and really good food. I was with a party of three, two us tries the Friday night specials and the third chose from the menu. Each entrée was so good. Confirm the house salad is really good. The Chef checked in on each table and took the time to explain the flavors of our entrees… nice touch. Hello, new favorite local joint.

Beautiful view… Picture windows. Open scenery Extremely friendly staff… The chef greeted each diner… [Excellent] The food… I dined on a busy Thursday around 6pm in August… I had the house salad, crab cakes and shrimp and pasta. There were large servings of food but the food was«not the best». I will return hopefully on a less busy night in the future. The meals were reasonably priced Again, service was outstanding.

This place is a well kept secret, but a must see(eat) if in the area. I came for Italian, but ended up with the rib eye. After my husband had it last time, I couldn’t resist, nor could I eat it all. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. The steak alone would keep me coming back, but the attention to the little things makes this restaurant well above the average; i.e. the flaked Parmasean on the salad, to the Rosemary on the bread. The Chocolate torte is excellent(husbands), but my favorite is the bread pudding; just like my grandma made. Chef Karl is awesome, tell him the Salsmans sent you. Next time, Italian!

Great food. Very clean and friendly. Went on a Friday night no reservation. Would call for reservations on holidays like valentine and so. Very friendly staff and service was fast and hot. definitely recommend the chicken marsala.

Husband and I first visited back in April. Mixed experience… the food was excellent, he got a steak and I had the tutte mare. The house dressing on the salad is delicious. We also happened in on a Thursday so they had a wine special going on. The view is beautiful and the restaurant was almost empty when we got there so we enjoyed a mostly private meal. Our waitress was a bit flustered at being the only one on the floor and stood at our table complaining about her coworkers for several minutes while we were trying to eat, which was a bit awkward, but the owner and/or chef(not sure who he was) came out and made sure our food was good, which I thought was nice. We went again this past week and had a much different experience. I had the Tuscany shrimp pasta, delicious. Husband had chicken Marsala… it was inedible. The sauce was not like any chicken Marsala sauce I’ve ever had… was gelatinous and tasted like straight Marsala wine. The salads were a bit soggy from too much dressing. Still wasn’t busy so not sure what happened. We’ll still go back. The view is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the pasta seems to be pretty consistently good.

Our first visit there was great. We were there early and there wasn’t a crowd. The food was great, portions were large, and our waitress was amazing. Our second visit was far from the first. Waitress was slow on service but very polite. The portions were extremely small, even the salads. Shrimp pasta had maybe 3 shrimp in it that were cut in small pieces to appear as if there was more.

We went early on a Wednesday & had a wonderful view with exceptional service! We even got a visit from the chef which was great to have the opportunity to tell him how much we enjoyed the food. The place is off the beaten path but only about 10 minutes from St. Robert. If you are visiting the area you MUST come here. We had Eggplant parmesan appitizer(pic posted) Meatball Sandwich(pic posted) Cheese Tortellini Salsiccia(pic posted) & a Kids Meatball Linguine for our son. All was fantastic… we stuffed ourselves so much we didn’t have room for desert. The rolls with garlic & rosemary are so yummy! Entrees come with Salad. We had the house salad & it was so good. We truly had the royal treatment from our waitress. I could not have asked for a better dining experience.

Great food! We had Crab cakes and Calamari for appetizers, yum! Shared Seafood Palmero and Cajun Salmon Linguini. Best I’ve had outside of New Orleans! Strong seafood flavor with strong yet subtle spices. Would recommend the place for anyone within 100 miles up/down I-44. Authentic Italian seafood. Happy to hear the restaurant is expanding to Rolla. Will make brunch more accessible. I’ve only been once for brunch, and dinner is amazing! Best Italian from St. Louis to Springfield north to Columbia(haven’t had better in Columbia honestly, a tie at best).

Close to the house, beautiful view, amazing food! We came here for the first time last night and we were greeted with a smile. We were seated quickly and it didn’t take long for our server to come by. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I had the Tuscany shrimp pasta, it was fresh, seasoned just right and absolutely delicious! Our server was Lindy and she was AMAZING! I’d go back for her alone! She was personable, helpful, quick with getting us or drinks and food. We will definitely be back and we will be requesting her to be our server again!

This place has a pretty amazing view from the dining room being located on the top of a pretty large hill. Ot definitely sets the ambiance for a romantic date despite the gravel parking lot, and the unimpressive outside appearance. Service was good not great, nothing impressive in this category. The food safety seemed hit and miss. One of the members of my group ordered crab cakes as an appetizer. Aside from getting two seemingly disappointingly small cakes, they tasted almost freezer burnt. Entrees seemed a bit better I didn’t particularly like mine, the veal special of the day. Others in my party however really enjoyed the pasta dishes they ordered.

Not a far drive from Fort Leonard Wood, this dining adventure offered a fine dining experience while keeping the family friendly atmosphere. If you’re using GPS, you may need to drive a little further down the road. The GPS was off a mile or so. The service was great, everyone was very attentive and was quick to offer specials and refill your glass. No complaints. The food was very good. Everything from their house salads with homemade dressing to the spumoni. My dish and my wife’s were expertly prepared; everything tasted fresh and the portions were hearty. The only thing that was somewhat weird/funny, is they did not have pizza on the kids menu. My kid says, «what kind of Italian place doesn’t have pizza?» He’s probably right, but I can’t fault the restaurant on that. We would definitely go back!

I was surprising amazed! Arriving, I questioned it because it looked like a cabin. But, when we walked in we were transported. This place really surprised us and the food was amazing! Wonderful date night place.

We are here on a Saturday and I got the special. The crab legs here are just as good as on the coast! That is pretty hard to do for the middle of Missouri. I can not wait to go back and try something new!

The location is a little out of the way but you will find it is on top of a bluff, overlooking a panoramic view of the Gasconade River Valley. The view is incredible all year, which is a reason to try their Sunday Brunch hours and see the view in the daytime. The food and service and atmosphere are comparable to dining at The Hill in St. Louis. Try the House salad dressing and a carafe of the House Merlot. I get beef and my wife has pasta. Always good. The help is very attentive and the owner/chef always comes out and visits with us.

Very disappointed. We had high hopes for this restaurant. Service was mediocre. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food. The pasta was so salty that I couldn’t even eat it and the crab legs were cold. Our waitress did not check on us for 35 minutes after delivering the meal. The highlight of our night were the rolls and house salad!
