Camden-Grey Essential Oils

If I could give NO stars I would! Months have gone by and no response to my repeated emails to customer service. $ 700 for sandalwood and they sent me some inferior product not even close to the first sandalwood I bought from them. That’s how they suck you in. Be very careful if you plan on using them as a supplier.

first time order and it was not the item I ordered. Customer service is a joke. Will NEVER use this company again and will be going thru my bank for a refund.

OkI have been ordering from this company for years literally. I spend thousands of dollars a year in oils for my business. I had one off day and selected the wrong oil realizing my mistake I emailed them before the order was shipped. They were not willing to do anything for me. I offered for them to keep the money I did not want a refund. I offered to pay for the right product and just sub out the shipping costs since again my other order did not ship. They did not even respond to my email which was opened as I have tracking on my emails. I emailed as to the uses for the oil I ordered and the safety for use on the skin in preparation for receiving the oil and they never responded.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! My initial experience with this company was uneventful but I’ve since come to learn they could care less about customer satisfaction. I ordered sandalwood (an oil I’ve used many times) and what I received smelled nothing like sandalwood at all. I’ve e-​mailed them and followed their ridiculous requests and still am being told that what they shipped was the appropriate item and that the issue is mine. They must not care about having repeat customers because they were unwilling to work with me at all. Do yourself a favor and don’t do business with them. You might get what you want one time and the next who knows. The issue is really their terrible customer service so why take a chance? Work with a company you know will take your concerns Seriously. All over the web are the same types of complaints. Once I jumped through all the hoops they required they stopped answering my emails! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I placed an order on a Friday. Wednesday I asked about it, and they said it would be shipping «in the next few days.» Because I’ve never encountered a company that needs a week or more to ship an order, I told them I wanted to cancel, which they said was not allowed. So, bad shipping (also expensive shipping — they are one of those companies that have cheap prices, then make up the difference by gouging you on shipping), and bad customer service. I don’t know for sure, but they are in Doral, FL, which is is a hub for imports and exports, so in all likelihood they are a front for a Chinese company. Try Mountain rose. Might cost a little more, but they’re run by good folks and they’ll help you out.

I’ve been buying from CG for 14 years. They usually have the best prices, everything has always been great quality, and I’ve never had a problem w/​customer service. The shipping can be a bit off (I was getting ready to purchase a large order and changed my mind about one small item that weighs nothing… my shipping dropped $ 14 from 23% to 20% of the order). They don’t seem to ship based on actual weight of items… but on dollar amount of the order. So, if you’re buying cheap but heavy things it’s a deal… if you’re buying light but expensive items, the shipping is way overpriced. All in all, I love them and they will be my go-​to site for most of my items!

These folks have lost me as a customer over $ 3.00. They have decent prices, as other reviewers have said, but I did make the mistake of requesting signature on delivery by mistake (must have checked a box or not remembered to uncheck it), and instead of shipping at the normal price, which I’d already paid, they billed me for the signature shipping. When I explained my mistake but said I’d pay it anyway, I was told they were looking forward to receiving the disbursement. Had one of my customers made a similar mistake, I’d have canceled the extra fee. No reason not to, after all. It’s a shame. I was not unhappy with their products, but their service stinks. I will pay more for products purchased from vendors who care about their customers. If you read the FAQ page all the way through (and if you do, you have a great deal of patience), you will quickly understand the disdain they have for their customers.

They suck you in with what looks like good prices. Then they hit you with very high shipping. The customer service is horrible. They are rude and have unreasonable policies. I will be using a different supplier in the future. I wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately with no local pickup offered and such bad service it just is not worth it. I will pay more if I have to and buy from better people.
Edit: I received my recent order from them that I was having trouble with. They did not include the Tee Tree essential oil that I ordered and still charged me for it. They have not responded to me despite 3 attempts at contacting them. Two emails and a voice message. As far as I can tell they just stole that money from me. I will follow up with the police if this is not resolved with Camden Grey shortly. I will update if there are any new developments.

I have been purchasing from them for two years. The first bath of argan oil was superb, as you can see the difference in your skin within minutes. I purchased another argan oil about two months ago, and I swear it is not argan oil. It’s just some oil. I alerted camden grey and they told me it’s argan oil and other ppl purchase with no problems. Just because am the only one sounding the alarm doesn’t meant am wrong.

I’ve been buying from Camden-​Grey for years. They have the best quality products; in particular, their essential oils are excellent, but I’ve been happy with everything I’ve ordered over the years. The one exception is the Rose Otto; I agree with another Unilocaler that it was just wrong. But other than that, their products are the best you can buy.
They only get 4 stars because I agree their customer service is lacking. They really don’t have a lot of patience, and when a customer doesn’t read the FAQ and follow their policies, they get rude quickly. On top of that, there is a very limited return policy, but I kind of understand because they don’t resell returned oils (thankfully!) and their prices are quite low. (The shipping can counteract that benefit sometimes, but not always.)
I am glad I found them and will continue to use them. Just be damned sure your order is correct before you hit «submit» and you’ll be pleased :)

After reading the reviews posted here, I was a little worried abut ordering from this company. Those worries were completely unfounded. I have ordered twice now from them. Both shipments were very, very quick, shipped Fedex, and packaged well beyond my expectations. The pricing is amazing for the product. No inferior quality stuff here. I’m a soap maker, and I think I’ve found my regular supplier.

I just placed my second order with Camden-​Grey. They were recommended to me by a friend based on the product quality. I have found no fault with the products, though it would be good to get labels that included shelf life and recommended storage methods. The complete absence of customer service, the ridiculous shipping cost, and the lengthy delivery time means I will take my business elsewhere. On my most recent order, the shipping cost almost equaled the $ 25 I paid for the product and is still taking more than 10 days for delivery. That’s ridiculous. I ordered it anyway because the product was on a deep discount. That wont always be so and I’d rather find a company that makes more customer service sense.

I have been dealing with Camden-​Grey for many years and I have found them to be professional. Their products are some of the best I’ve used. I am a wholesale account and buy in larger quantities. My orders are shipped timely, the email communications I’ve had, when necessary have been pleasant and quite professional. I am shocked to read negative reviews. I highly recommend them

I’m surprised there are so many negative reviews but then again, people expect to NOT have to pay for shipping, they expect discounts etc… C’mon. This is a small business.
If you’ll look closely, the negative reviews are from people complaining about prices and not being able to use coupon codes. If you’re more concerned with quality and access to unusual products, this place is great. I don’t care if I can use a coupon. I’ve never been coerced into buying more and I always get what I pay for. I get high quality products that aren’t available in other places. This site isn’t a trap. And if you know what you’re doing and you don’t expect something for nothing, you get great service and great products.

I read the bad reviews and unfortunately placed an order with this company anyway hoping it would work out since the pricing on line for the essential oils I needed were good. BIG MISTAKE! It is true what everyone says about camden grey. It was my 1^st time ordering from them & didn’t realize that the oils on special is limit 1 per customer & they bill you extra for any additional that you buy. I emailed & said to refund the item since it had not shipped or send me the item. They refused tThey have no refund policy what so ever, even if you by accident click on an item and it is a mistake & pay for it. THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU! I was going to file a paypal claim to get a refund which if the item has not shipped & never going to ship pay pal will refund the buyer! They wouldn’t ship at all until I paid the $ 4 for the additional lavender ⁴⁰⁄₄₂ oil I bought on sale. Anyway, I needed the items to make soap for a show so I decided to paypal the $ 4 to ship the products even though I got a nasty email from Vivian saying to go ahead & file a paypal claim & that they would fight it. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! I did more research & found that New Directions has oils at a better price & bulk apothecary both of which have a website. I WILL NEVER BUY ITEMS FROM THEM AGAIN!

I got a bottle of garbage for 16 $ that was supposed to be Rose Otto. Real Rose Otto smells like heaven and the stuff they sent me was nauseating. Do not buy essential oil from them!!!

So I am (was) a repeat camden-​grey customer. The first experience was very positive. Products arrived in a timely manner, were well-​packaged, and were of very good quality (oils, butters). So when I ran out of some of those products my first impulse was, of course, to return to camden-​grey.
Things pretty much went down hill from there.
While in the ordering process, I googled «camden-​grey coupon code» as one usually does when shopping online. And as one usually finds, a coupon code came up. Yay! I thought and happily entered, assuming that if the code was not valid, the website would kick it back as most websites normally do.
The Camden Grey website accepted the coupon code and gave me the discount.
Cool beans, I think and enter my credit card info and settle down to wait. The next morning, I get an email from Vivian from Camden Grey. To say the tone of the email was rude would be an insult to rude people. Basically, Vivian told me that she had no idea why I entered the coupon code as my order clearly did not qualify and that I needed to add a purchase to my order to meet the coupon qualifications «or else.»
Yeah, in hindsight I just should have cancelled the order but the website has a pretty clear no cancellation policy, and I wanted my products but had no plans on being extorted.
So I replied to Vivian and told her there was a glitch in their software as most (oh 99%) of e-​manufacturers websites do not accept codes that are invalid and that her offer (order) to buy more in order to have my order released was extortion and that the easiest thing to do would be to remove the coupon code which she had not suggested.
She replied, fairly calmly, and in a definite departure from the first email, that there had been a software glitch and that she would reverse the discount. Which I have no clue why they didn’t do from the beginning.
I am not even going to touch on the idea of honoring the coupon that they had already accepted because that would indicate a level of customer service that I do not think Camden Grey is capable of.
So I have not yet received the order but I did receive a new invoice and a notice that the order had been shipped. Although the new invoice included a new charge that was TWICE the amount of the reversed discount. I was in the process of crafting an email informing them of this but after checking my account, I noticed I had been charged the correct amount but invoiced incorrectly.
These are clearly not people to trust with your account information.
Which is sad because I found no fault with the quality and variety of their products until now. But as I informed Vivian, there are far too many other vendors in their industry with better customer service (and no reports on
) to put up wilth such poor customer service.

I used this company’s website to find something I needed. Their price was good, so I added it to my cart and headed for the checkout, only to have the order stopped because it didn’t meet their «new minimum order amount.» Apparently, they can’t be bothered to tell you about this when you first log on to their site. They wait until you begin shopping to try to coerce you into buying more. I hate high pressure sales, so I’m going to find another supplier. These people don’t deserve my business.

I was so incredibly excited to find that there was a Florida-​based company like this one that sold all types of oils, butters, and just about all that you need for homemade beauty products like lotions, soaps, and more. I couldn’t wait to pick up my order since they have a pick-​up option for locals, as opposed to shipping.
Well, I get there and I was confused about where to go, but the receiving deck didn’t seem like it could be the right place, so I tried the front door and read the little sign that says somewhat snappily that all orders should be picked up in receiving around the back «as it says in your email.» I go around the back and think nothing of it, assuming I had just misread their intentions. Surely a good business as I have read that this one is would not be snappy with their customers. In the back, I ring four times, with a good amount of space between rings so as to not sound rude or impatient. Someone finally answers and I tell them I’m here to pick up. The man rudely looks at his watch and says pick-​ups are only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11−1PM. Well, his tone was cool, so I just calmly said well I didn’t receive anything saying that.
He goes to get some woman with shoulder-​length gray hair who I assume is in charge of orders. She was the most disgustingly rude person I have EVER dealt with in any type of customer service! She looked at me like I was crazy the whole time and rudely says well pick-​up is only on Tues and Thursdays and then she says and it’s quarter after two. And I’m like and what does that mean? Obviously I wasn’t clear on the way the whole thing worked. I calmly say «Well, I am a first time customer and I misunderstood. Misunderstandings happen. Now I have learned and I understand.» And she goes on getting progressively ruder and says well is your order even ready?! I know it is because it has been 6 or 7 days and online it says they take 2 business days to ship out. She goes on to say, well, our policy is blah blah and so I, of course say well, can’t I just get my order since I’m here. She gets nasty again and I start looking at her crazy like she has spent the whole time looking at me and she has the nerve to say «why are you looking at me like I’m from another planet?!» So I said to her «well, the entire time I’ve been here that’s exactly how you’ve been looking at me, so I’m just returning it. You know, it really doesn’t seem that you have much respect for your customers either.» She replies «well, you don’t have respect for our policies and you’re interrupting our work!» Well, I just told her she could be assured I would never interrupt her work again. The funniest part of it all is that you know where the orders ready for pick-​up were? On a small rack right beside the door I entered and right by where she wasted 5 minutes of her precious time fussing at me. You know how many orders were there? Three! Five, at best! What a HUGE inconvenience I caused!
Bottom line, I will definitely be finding a new company to give my business to. I had plans to make orders of the same size from them monthly for at least the next 3 months and to be a loyal customer even after leaving Miami. It is a shame because I could be writing a positive review for them right now, but no thanks!
On top of that, the grapeseed oil was green (should be a light golden color) and much thinner than a quality oil and barely had the scent of a quality grapeseed oil either. I am not familiar enough with the other things I ordered to comment on the quality. Nonethless, I would’ve still ordered some things from them in the future if it weren’t for the extremely rude customer relations. In fact, before you pick up your order, customer service is virtually inexistent. The online live shopping assistance is always offline/​inactive and if you call, the so-​called customer service is by an answering machine leave-​a-​message system only, and we all know how that goes…
And just to be clear, apparently, all of the info that I was unclear about was in the confirmation email, however, I read it a week before and it had slipped my mind. All I remembered was lunch was 1 – 2, so I showed up at two. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen for goodness sake.
