History

Established in 1953.

In 1953, Northside Tool Rental founder & Atlanta native, Roy Milling Jr., left a promising engineering career at Lockheed to start a tool & equipment rental business. This was an idea he had seen while on a business trip to California. Roy had a passion for tools and innovative construction equipment & started his small rental company with just a few hand tools, shovels, post hole diggers, wheel barrels, & push lawn mowers. Roy believed that tools were a way to help people solve problems &took pride in sharing his knowledge and passion. In just a short while, Roy’s new tool rental concept became popular and word about his rental business and keen knowledge of tools and construction equipment quickly spread amongst local contractors both large and small. In 2002, Roy Milling passed away but his legacy lives on and has been passed on to two generations who hold his same commitment and passion for tools, equipment needs.
