You know when you have cravings for Pringles and Twixes and Just. Can’t. Deal. with any more ‘hollering’ along the Fields Corner Strip Mall? Enter, stage left, Fields Corner Store. Everything about this store is awesome. It is spitting distance from my apartment, so I don’t have to put up with twenty-five pick-up lines to obtain milk on a hungover Sunday morning. It’s also innocuous enough that I don’t need to change out of my super bummy clothing when I want to quickly grab some cake mix/oranges/chewing gum. The cute and chirpy sales clerk is always helpful — when I’m too hungover(is this a theme?) to find the Doritos, she is quick to point them out. Yes, it’s slightly more expensive than Family Dollar or America’s Food Basket a couple of blocks away, but that’s because it’s a local and independent store. No, they don’t have tomato paste, but they do have canned tomatoes. No, there aren’t any almond flakes, but they do have salted peanuts. Dude. It’s a convenience store… that is super convenient. It’s been there for me in my time of need(seriously, when I get my Pringles cravings, y’all better stay outta my way), and I simply cannot fault it.
