Gibson Playground

GIbson Playground does was it says on the cover — it’s a playground. It’s not much else, though it could be so much more.
The two stars stand for the children’s playground (which is enjoyed by a bunch of toddlers on a regular basis) and the brand spanking new basketball courts that were constructed last year. In between the two is a misused baseball field and a huge expanse of badly maintained grass. Dog poop, empty booze bottles and a random assortment of litter line the perimeter of Gibson, and there is often a smelly pool of goodness-​knows-​what alongside the mysterious building that sits next to the children’s playground.
Compared to Hemenway Park a few blocks away, Gibson Playground is poorly maintained and something of an eyesore. Even the fence surrounding the park is sketchy and dirty. This playground could be so much more for the local community if it was better maintained and if local residents did not litter so extensively.
Not dangerous, as parks go, but not pleasant either.
