Al rebuilt my Transmission 2 ½ years ago. After two years I had a small shifting issue when it was cold only. I brought it in and they fixed it no charge. There was only a one year warrantee but they fixed after two years.
He also found the quick change oil place I use over filled my transfer case. It was leaking everywhere. They could have told me it was a main seal and I would have believed them as the oil was coming from that area. He could have made some easy money on me. Al is an honest person!

This review is long overdue. One star is one star too many. Maybe more. I called the shop I normally go to for minor repairs to see if they would be able to replace u-​joints. I was told they did not do it at that particular shop, and so they referred me to Lee Myles. I wish I did my homework a little more to find somewhere more reliable, but I trusted the guys at my place. I went in one morning to drop my car off and was told that I needed to sign something, stating that I understood I would be required to pay $ 125 just for them to look at the car, because it included a road test (my odometer didn’t even move from the time I dropped it off, so I’m not sure how a road test was performed) and some onboard diagnostics, or some other jargon they thought they could make up to make it sound more involved and worth my money. No, I came in for u-​joints, that’s what I want done. I stupidly signed the paper and went on my way to work. A couple hours later, someone called me back and asked if I was sitting down. Great. I was then read a laundry list of items that needed to be repaired/​replaced, totaling over $ 1,200. When given the price of what just the u-​joints would be (about $ 400 PER SIDE), I said I would think about it and call back confirming what I did or didn’t want done. I decided I didn’t want ANY of the work done, at least not there, so I called back to say I’d be back for my car that afternoon, at which point the idiot told me «Ok, so all you’ll need to pay is just the $ 125.» Excuse me — JUST the $ 125? I hung up, went over to get my car and was verbally abused by whoever was at the counter, telling me that he didn’t care where I took the car to get fixed and that his guys don’t work for free. I’m sorry, but I have never heard of such a practice. When I pulled out cash to pay, I gave him $ 140, hoping that after the arguing we did at the counter he would just take $ 120 and forego «just» $ 5 — but no, he didn’t even have change, so he called for someone from the shop to take one of the 20’s over across the street to some store to get change for me. I was so disappointed in the entire experience, I would never ever consider going here for anything again, and would discourage someone from going there if I heard them say they were considering it. After all was said and done, I had the u-​joints (front axle, both sides) replaced, plus front pads and rotors all for $ 600 in Everett. Said shop will now continue to get all of my business.

I’m new to driving a clutch (never again). Al at Lee Myles is such a nice guy and will go overboard to make it affordable. Even offering to give me free lessons. Great communication throughout the week he had my car. I’d go back, but my next car will be an automatic!

When my car broke down last week, I called the repair shop around the corner from me, where the dummy who answered the phone told me I should call Lee Myles instead. So I called, and they came and towed my car (which by the time the tow truck arrived, was starting up again, so I absolutely should not have let them do this). They took it in for a diagnostic and charged me $ 200 for the diagnostic plus towing, and guess what the diagnostic told them — that they don’t know how to fix a VW! So, in summary, I paid $ 200 for them to not fix my car even a little bit.
I am the idiot who let them tow it and check it out, but I definitely learned my lesson when based on their expert diagnosis the treatment was «take this to a place that knows how to fix a VW.» Never again.
