History

Established in 2005.

Dr. Moore’s new convenient location accross from the Post Office in downtown Douglas has been open for one year. HIs previous experience in the Douglas, Tifton area includes working with South GA Eye Partners with Dr. Scott Petermann, MD, Eyesight Associates with Dr. Johnny Gayton, MD and Pearle Vision in Tifton, GA. Dr. Moore left his previous Douglas office in 2010 to open DownTown Vision Center. Dr. Moore is also affiliated with Tift Eye Care in Tifton, GA.

Dr. Moore is fully accredited and has done a Residency in Hospital Based Pathology and Disease of the Eye. Dr. Moore is a member of the GOA, AOA and the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce as well as the Tifton Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Mark Moore has lived in Coffee county for 10 years. He moved here with his family after leaving the Air Force. He retired from military service in 2007 after 20 years of combined Active and Reserve duty.

Dr. Moore is from West Virginia (Go Er’s!), he attended West Virginia University (Go ‘Er’s!) and went on to optometry school at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Dr. Moore then joined the Air Force and became Chief of Optometry at Laughlin AFB in Texas. He then attended a Residency in Hospital Based Pathology and Disease at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. From there Dr. Moore was assigned to Ramstien AFB in Germany where he did several small tours in the European Theatre to include: Turkey, Brussels and the Bavarian area of Germany.
