History

Established in 2012.

Houston Family Transportation started out as a home based business. In the beginning our primary focus was just your everyday transportation. So our business consisted transporting children, elderly and the people of the work force.

Over time we have transitioned to airport transfer only. In doing so our business has started to grow, the people we meet our fantastic and we love serving them.

When you book with Houston Family, you are not just our client but you are our friends. That’s the great thing about being a family owned business.

Ira H.

Business Owner

A little bit about the owner, Ira J Houston born and rasied in Flint, MI. Graduate of Northwood University in Midland, MI, received his BA in Business Management. Ira also played four years of football at Northwood University, winning a Championship in the year 2000. So when it comes to hard work he is no stranger, owning his first business at the age of 25. Ira has always had a passion for helping others, which lead him to give back to his community. Serving the Flint Communittiy Schools for four years, and being an assistant varsity football coach for seven years.

Ira moved to the Atlanta area in 2011 and has been in love with the place ever since. He is very devoted to his family being a loving husband and father of two. Ira is also very active in his church, and community.

He enjoys meeting new people and making friends. Houston Family Transportation and its owner Ira J. Houston is a great family owned business, because they believe in serving and putting the clients first

I got a Groupon for their airport sevice. I spoke with a rep and tried to schedule a pickup and was told that it would be an additional $ 35, I explained to the rep that the drop off location was within the 25 miles. The rep said he would call me back. I have called the company and left messages and have yet to hear from the company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AS THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Absolutely the most professional, on-​time, comfortable transport to and from the airport I’ve found! Just finished a 4-​hour international trip, and timing is always a bit tricky with customs, etc. I was a bit early getting in, and once I got to the airport exit door, I gave Houston Family Transportation (HFT) a call. Our driver was right around the bend! …not to mention 15 minutes ahead of time for pick-​up both times I’ve used HFT before. When traveling to the airport particularly, you want reliability and on-​time service; and HFT delivers. Everyone at HFT is responsive and conscientious! Follow-​up has always been quick and attentive. GREAT job HFT!

I travel frequently twixt ATL and the West Coast. Its not uncommon for me to roll into ATL on a red eye sometimes between 5 and 6 AM on a Saturday morning. Ira and Houston Family Transportation have never let me down, always there, on time whether I’m to be picked up in Douglasville going to ATL or the reverse. Friendly, reliable, rates are almost too good to be true, these folks are the best in my opinion.

We have used the company twice on trips to Atlanta and will use them exclusively from now on. These guys are excellent! Not only are they professionals, they are personable, friendly, and helpful. Last time they picked us up we even got a delicious little homemade pound cake. Definitely choose this firm, you will not be disappointed. Great rates as well!

My experience was way different than Eve’s. Alike Eve, I purchased my livingsocial deal but before I purchased it, I confirmed with the company they would be able to schedule me in. I called early in the morning and spoke with Diar (pronounced Dyer). She confirmed they would be able to assist me so I went ahead with the purchase. I purchased it on a Monday and needed pickup that Wednesday. On Wednesday, Diar arrived early to pick me up. She was very pleasant. We had a great conversation on our way to the airport. When it was time for me to return, I emailed the company and received a confirmation rather quickly. My ride was waiting for me upon baggage claim. All in all it was a good experience and if I needed another ride, I would definitely give them a call!

Bought a deal on Living social for them, called to scheduale pick– up and was told they would call me back, they didn’t, called another time, no answer. Called again and left a message. Went on their website and schedualed a pick-​up that way, owner called me back within minutes, told me they were not working on day that I needed pick-​up. Polite enough but operations seem unprofessional and left me with no solution, just got credit but no refund. Not impressed!
