The White Apron recently catered a holiday party in our home and it was a huge success. Jay and his team were awesome to work with. The food was amazing and plentiful and displayed very creatively. The wait staff was attentive and professional. They also catered my daughter’s bridal shower in April 2015 and that was also amazing! Would highly recommend for any event.

I have attended three business events and one baby shower all catered by The White Apron and have been really impressed every time. The food is the epitome of fresh and simple with a twist. You would think a simple spread of cheese, meat, fruit and veggies would be pedestrian, but they manage to find clever ways to create new, unexpected flavors with familiar ingredients. The quality of the food is top notch and the preparation and presentation are also great. The owner, Jay, is very friendly and obviously takes a lot of pride in his work and food. I’ve never hired them myself, but if I had an event I needed catered, the White Apron would be my first phone call.

I have been meaning to write this review for awhile. We hired The White Apron to cater a medium size cocktail party in our home (about 35 people) in August 2013. Staff came about an hour in advance for setup and did a good job. The owner, Jay, made us feel that we were in good hands and even ironed a table cloth himself that we needed last minute. The food & service were good. The big problem was the bar. We had decided to have full bar and bought the alcohol but had White Apron handle the mixers & glassware for an additional cost. Although we had all the alcohol the bartender could not make simple drinks like a margarita as he had no lime juice. He also couldn’t make any cocktails with simple syrup (and there are many) as he didn’t have that either He did not take it upon himself to mix it up on the stove just declined requests for any drinks that he didn’t have the mixers etc. He even told me he couldn’t make my favorite, lemondrop, because he had no simple syrup or even sour mix! I ended up making it myself with granulated sugar from the kitchen. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even have it in a martini glass as they didn’t rent any. When I questioned the bartender about the lack of adequate supplies or basic martini glasses he just said he didn’t know why these supplies were not provided. The next day I spoke with my contact, Elizabeth, who was very dismissive of the problem. She said that she had «investigated» the issue & that the bartender claims that he offered to squeeze limes to make a margarita & to make simple syrup for my drink. This was a blatant lie but she refused to consider that. She offered no explanation of why the essential supplies where not provided in the first place. She also said they never rent martini glasses & didn’t seem to think that was a problem. Really?! For a full bar?! Half the fun of a martini is the glass. In any even, I would not recommend using them for the bar just do it yourself. I had attended a major fund raiser in Portsmouth earlier last summer that they catered and it was a similar situation. They ran out of wine very early in the night followed by beer. It was a mess. People standing around unable to get a drink. After a while they would come with more only to run out again in a very short time. It was an embarrassment to the charity. Based on this experience I should have know better than to hire them to do the bar but I figured as long as I provided the alcohol that wouldn’t be an issue. They clearly do not know what they are doing in that area. If the bar hadn’t been such a fiasco or Elizabeth hadn’t been so dismissive I would have given them 4 or 4 ½ stars but it was a «cocktail» party and it really mattered.

First just want folks to know that the white apron is located at one Washington Street at the One Washington Building in Dover, Suit 2024. They cater any affair that you are planning– birthdays, anniversarys, baby showers, weddings-​yes, buisness outings, breakfasts, lunches, dinner parties, holiday parties, etc and they do it with flair! They are EXCELLENT! I have never seen a caterer take such great pride in their presentation of food. They are meticulous with what gets served to the guests. The staff does everything they need to ensure that the guest happiness and satisfaction is met. They do a great job with putting a twist on the classics and making you want more. They have a unique presentation, giving you a one of a kind experience– not the typical ho-​hum event one may have become accustomed to from other caterers in the area. The chefs on staff are immensely talented, educated, and have years of experience working from areas across the county: Sundance, the Cape, Montréal, and NYC (working with bands such as U2). The servers now on staff are also quite experienced and very personable. I have had several wonderful interactions with servers, chefs, the staff manager as well as the owner– Jay Crucio. I would recommend them to anyone who wishes to have an event planned and stress-​free. Holidays are right around the corner– spend the time with your family and let the experts take care of the worries for you
PS– They will begin to have a deli-​style café in the coming months, where one could order lunch

The White Apron catered my fiancé and my engagement party over Fourth of July weekend and were absolutely incredible. The food and drinks were beautifully presented and delicious. I am a vegetarian and was blown away by the freshly-​made lemonade with blueberries and mint, the phyllo flowers with brie, pear and almonds, the twice baked potatoes, and the flatbread pizza with roasted seasonal vegetables and fresh mozzarella. My fiancé particularly loved the almond crusted chicken with roasted poblano chili sauce. The service was phenomenal – friendly, professional and 100% on the ball. The White Apron was a big part of the event’s success. They are the best and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Amazing food! We got a Reuben wrap and some kind of fancy turkey wrap and they were FAB! The chef even let us try his lobster ravioli that were the best I have EVER had! I love this place for lunch. Go in the main entrance of the one Washington St mill and they are down the stairs to the left. Totally worth it. :)
