Detail Kings

Top notch service. Took in crossover SUV for showroom service that is 7 years old and never had a detail. I have a dog and a 3 yr old, so needless to say the car was pretty dirty. The inside looks like it’s never been driven before and they were able to get out most scratches on the exterior. While I never enjoy forking over 3 bills to clean a car, this service is definitely worth it and i’m going to bring our other car in as well.

I had the interior of my 2008 Ridgeline detailed and it looks like new! I stayed and went upstairs to the cafeteria in the adjacent building and had lunch and read the newspaper while they were working on it. Mike called before he said he it would be done and went over the truck with me. I left a VERY satisfied customer. These guys are the best!

Detail King is located in my office parking garage. I am very happy with my results from Detail King. They are always willing to clean my car, even when a busy day. Also, they are accommodating if you need to have the car complete by a certain time (e.g. lunchtime). The staff /​Nick are very friendly!
The car is washed /​waxed by hand! It is way better than any automatic. The Express Wash and Interior cleaning is a good deal, but they only do a quick sweep of the inside. I recommend the more expensive details if you want a deep interior clean.

Great Service, were able to squeeze me in the same day, price is more than fair for the quality work that they do. Car interior was pristine and outside was excellent. Only small complaint was they parked it under a water pipe in the garage and the hood got dirty, but not really their fault. They also got it done much sooner than their estimated time. Have used them multiple times and will continue to use.

And talk about upstanding guys… we had some lost cash in the car ($ 20) and they put it in a little baggie of other hidden gems). There’s hope for this world!

My car never looked so good since I drove it off the dealer’s property! Took my Honda to Detail Kings for an interior detail, and I was VERY happy with the results. I must admit, at first I was skeptical because it was in a dark garage and as I pulled up there were lights with a bunch of guys standing there. As a young woman, it was intimidating but everyone was super nice. One of the guys directed me on where to park and told me to step into the office. There I was able to tell them I wanted an interior detail. He let me know I can go upstairs into the office building where they had free WiFi in the lobby and I could go to the cafeteria if I wanted. It took close to two hours and it was not bad sitting in the lobby. Next time I will bring my laptop or make plans to leave and come back. The inside of my car was spotless and I could tell they even did parts of the exterior, which I had not even asked for. I would recommend them and I will definitely be returning!

The best of the best! Paul and his crew and true professionals in what they do! Every time I have taken my car to detail kings it literally looks showroom new!

In the past, I have brought several of my cars to Detail Kings and have been impressed with the results. However, the customer service that I received today left a great deal to be desired. First, I arrived and had to wait several minutes for someone to take care of me even though there were several people hanging around doing nothing.
Next, some character who was goofing off on the internet and smoking a cigarette tells me that they decided to close early because they had a small number of customers. Unfortunately for them, the number of customers Detail Kings has will be one less because they turned away my business as well as their lack of professionalism.

This review is based on just one regular interior/​exterior detail job done by Detail Kings several months ago. They are located down in the dark bowels of a parking garage in Downers Grove.
I see that the overwhelming majority of the reviews are positive and the business is raved about in the community by business organizations, but I can’t understand why after my experience. Either I’m the «bad luck lotto winner» and got DK’s single worst detail job of the year or the majority of people in the world simply have a different definition of «clean» than I do.
This was no doubt the worst detail job I’ve ever had.
My vehicle was still dirty in many spots when I came to pick it up. I couldn’t even leave without having to wait 10 – 15 minutes for them to clean the front exterior that still had bug debris and smear marks all over the place.
In my error, I accepted their cleanup of the front exterior and drove off without really surveying the interior — largely because of how dark it was in that parking garage. When I got home and thoroughly looked the interior over in broad daylight I was pretty irritated:
— several door jambs not cleaned
— cupholders not cleaned
— scuff marks on the walls in various places weren’t removed
— food and debris in the back seat wasn’t cleaned up
— little pieces of sponge or towel left on all of the air vents
— the biggest air vent in the back wasn’t touched, still looked the same as when I dropped off the vehicle
In addition to displaying a startling lack of attention to detail, I think a big problem for DK is that the workers don’t have adequate light down in the dungeon where they work. Detailing needs to be done in a brightly lit environment.
I spoke to the owner, Paul Kludac, about the shortcomings of the job. He apologized and was more than willing to have me bring the vehicle back to be, in his words, «touched up» for free (to me, the vehicle needed to be properly cleaned and it was way more than just a 5 – 10 minute touch-​up situation). I’ll give him credit, it was obvious that he genuinely cares about making his customers happy. But I didn’t feel like going back and leaving the vehicle with DK again for an hour or two. It didn’t seem worth my time, so I didn’t take him up on his offer and instead took care of the unfinished work myself out on my driveway in the sunlight in about an hour.
An accommodating owner and good customer service is always worthy of respect, but that sadly doesn’t negate the inconveniences to me as a customer when the job isn’t done right the first time.
I won’t be going back to DK. I think the fact that they do their work down in the dark is the problem, it’s a recipe for disaster. They flat out can’t see everything that needs to be cleaned.
The detail job itself was a one star failure in my opinion as I compare it to detail jobs I’ve had from competitors in the area. But I’ll add a star to this review to acknowledge that the owner truly cares about customer satisfaction.

AWFUL Showroom $ 325.00 detail. Thank God I bought a Groupon!
Over 1month awaiting appt. Dropped off Jeep at 8am and was called at 10:27 am, my Jeep was done. (I was told they spend 3 – 5 hours) IT WAS EXTREMELY DARK in lower level of garage and NOT ENOUGH LIGHT for workers to properly do their work.
As I exited the garage, I pulled over to inspect my car in daylight… I immediately returned to speak with Paul…
He spoke very enthusiastic about all of his dealership customers… and how many cars he does and when I asked if that was the best he could do in the dark, he said a YES.

I brought my Kia Sorento in for a professional Detail a few days ago and I was so pleased with the work. I dropped off a bit before noon and 2 and a half hours later she shines like a diamond. So pleased I’m bringing the hubbies ford in for some love.

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I had called Paul the owner of Detail Kings on Saturday morning to schedule an appointment for a express car wash and detail and I was told over the phone that
I do not need one. Even though i specifically wanted one, (I work 8AM– 5PM on weekday and Saturday was the only day available) Paul mentioned that you can just walk in and it should not be a problem.
I pull my car inside the garage at 2:20PM where they are located and I see 2 gentlemen closing the door and about to leave. When i asked them why they were closing when I was told the place is open till 3:00PM, I was told that since no one showed up after 1:30 they did not want to pay 10 people to do nothing so they sent everyone home. If that was the case why did they make me drive all the way to their location. At the least it would be respectful if they gave me a call and told me about this or they could have asked me to come earlier if i need a car wash that day. But no, they mentioned that their boss, Paul answers calls from his house and doesn’t know what is going on onsite hence what can they do. I thought their response was very careless and it looked like they did not even care.
The only reason I chose Detail Kings was after seeing a good review on Unilocal and this is CERTAINLY NOT WHAT I EXPECTED.
I immediately called Paul but went on a voice mail and did leave him a message, but i still haven’t heard back from Detail Kings on a response to what they did.
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!
