Salon Q

I’ve been going to Jennie at Salon Q for quite some time. Like most women I’m very particular about who I let style my hair. Jennie does a great job and I always leave feeling great and my hair looks amazing! I wouldn’t go anyplace else. I love Jennie and Salon Q!!!

I see Christine who also left a comment mentioned me by name and said not to listen to any poor review. It’s up to you but Unilocal is here for a reason– to hear all opinions and sorry, but mine is a negative one for this location but that is my honest opinion and experience. Also I just got an email from Unilocal removing my picture. Not sure why but it was a picture of the many piles of hair on the floor at this salon. They had staff standing there chatting with piles of hair on the floor… gross in my opinion.

I found this place on Groupon. It was $ 59 for cut, style and all over color. Great deal, right? Jenny, the owner, offered to do a root touch up and a couple streaks to replace the all over color. Which I thought was nice. But when I left my roots were bright yellow (she didn’t leave the toner on long enough). The cut, which she called a feathering, was choppy and I had to fix it myself when I got home. The streaks were barely noticeable. And she didn’t really style it.
Jenny is a nice lady and I enjoyed talking to her. But when you leave a salon, you want it to look like you went to a salon. Not like you had your little sister do your hair at her kitchen table. It is my opinion that Jenny either overbooked herself, didn’t want to do the work required for the price she offered the deal at, or just isn’t very good at her job. But no matter what her excuse, no self respecting stylist would have let their client leave with yellow roots. I could have done that myself with a $ 5 bottle of hair color from Walgreens. I mentioned the problem with the roots at the time, and she said something about not wanting to over process my hair. Nonsense, if you realize that your roots are virgin hair and would be the last place you could over process.
I called her a few days later asking her what I needed to buy at Sally’s to fix it myself. And basically she told my to ask the people there. Now I wouldn’t have trusted her with my hair again, but I think she should have offered to try and fix it. Especially seeing that she is the owner. So beware, because a deal is only a deal if it gets the job done. If it doesn’t…it’s like you’re throwing your money away. And I feel like I threw $ 80 down the sewer, I know I know… I shouldn’t have tipped her. But I didn’t realize how bad it looked until I washed, dried, and parted it in a different place. BTW When I parted it in a different place it was so yellow it almost looked orange. Geeesh!
