Established in 1980.

Established in 1980, SWA Architects has specialized in designing custom homes for over thirty years. During this time we have focused on providing our clients with an uncompromising commitment to quality service.

In all of our work, our primary focus is listening to our clients. Our ability to adapt the design to respond to our clients’ specific needs is the measure of a successful project. Our performance has resulted in establishing long-​term relationships with many of our clients.

The firm has grown to include a diversified mix of projects — multi-​family, mixed use developments, retail, offices, restaurants, and a variety of other building types. We continuously strive to improve the services we provide to our clients.

Meet the Business Owner

Bill S.

Business Owner

The company’s founder President, is active in all aspects of the design process as well as the management of the firm. He has a diversified background, which includes commercial, industrial, retail and residential projects. A licensed architect with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, he has 28 years experience in the architectural field, including 3 years with Thomas E. Carpenter & Associates prior to founding the current firm.

He is also active in The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, and is a participating member and former President of the Custom Builders Council. Bill is a registered architect in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.
