I’ve taken 2 laptops to Edgar and he’s fixed both of them no problem. Very professional and good prices. My first laptop I took to him was badly infected and I first went to Best Buy to ask for an estimate and they told me that simply just looking at the laptop to figure out the problem would be 150 and it would take about 2 weeks. Edgar fixed it no problem installed antivirus and kept all the pictures all for less than 150 and had it ready in about 2 days. Just give him a call and he’ll be happy to help you out.

I cannot speak highly enough of Edgar. He is friendly, professional and very good at explaining the situation and options in depth.
I spent a ton of time and money trying upgrading my 2010 MacBook Pro with an incompatible Toshiba SSD on my own before turning to him for help. It was a very tricky repair but he pulled it off and my computer is running faster than ever.
I highly recommend HTS, especially over large chains like Best Buy or Fry’s.

I found Hi-​Tek Solutions on Unilocal.I took two laptops to Edgar for some work over the past couple of months. He was able to pinpoint the problems on both computers quickly. He fixed them and I got them back in no time. I felt I could trust him because we initially thought the fan on one computer was going out, but after he opened up my computer, he found it was dusty and had some small pieces of plastic from the computer housing that was causing the problem. He could have charged me for the new fan he ordered but he didn’t. His fees are very economical. I will definitely go back to Hi-​Tek for any computer problems I may have in the future.

This is a small business but a great one! Edgar really helped with what I needed done for my laptop. He runs a diagnostic test to determine what needs to be done before proceeding. I like that he is very professional & informed me in what was wrong. Prices are very reasonable & they are discussed after the diagnostic test is done so you can choose to proceed. Everything was explained very clearly. Overall he did a fantastic job on my laptop.

Edgar saved my life!!! About 2 years ago, my MacBook froze. Idk how or why. It would turn on but would stay stuck at the apple screen. I was bummed because I had pictures in there that I was scared to lose. I immediately made an appointment at the Apple Store in Cerritos. I go in and the guy told me I was pretty much screwed and that I needed to reset the entire thing and all my data would be erased. I almost started crying. My boyfriend got upset and told me we were going somewhere else. Of course being the drama queen that I am, I was like, «This is it, it’s over, adiós pictures!»
In the car on the way home from the Cerritos Mall, my bf looked up computer repair shops and Edgar came up. He called Edgar and explained everything and Edgar told him to bring it over. So we did. He kept my laptop and told my bf he would call him when he figured out the problem. He called the next day and said I just needed to buy a flash drive so he could upload all my pictures. I couldn’t believe it! My heart stopped. We ran to buy the flash drive and took it to him and guess what? ALL MY PICTURES ARE SAFE!!!
I couldn’t believe it. Especially bc Apple had just told me there was nothing I could do.
I cannot thank Edgar enough. He saved me.

I found this place on Unilocal with 5 stars. Edgar was very professional and nice. He gave me an estimate over phone based on what I thought was wrong. His estimate was very reasonable so I took my laptop to him. His $$ and time estimates were both accurate. He seems honest and competent in what he does. He even recommended a new free antivirus and showed me how to clean up unwanted programs on my computer to make it run faster. Highly recommended!!!

Found this place on Unilocal so i decided to check it out. Edgar was helpfull and knowledgeable. He even stayed later then his hours of operation to fix my computer. Prices are reasonable. Great turn around time

My wife’s computer was very slow due to all the mal-​ware and virus and we did not know what to do with the computer. Edgar helped to clear all the mal-​ware and boom! Computer is now running as good as new. He also helped us to connect wireless printer to our computer. He did very efficient and great service with one low prices. I would definitely recommend Edgar for anyone!

I highly recommend this place for any of your computer needs. Edgar, the guy who runs it, is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. Works in a timely manner and doesn’t charge an arm and leg. Also, he’s the most qualified in the area in my opinion.

This place is quite literally a hidden gem in Downey. If you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, it could be very easy to miss. It was for me the first time I tried finding it. I had to refer back to the Unilocal reviews to try and find out where it was located. For that reason, I have added many pictures to my review to help anyone else find it easily. It shares a unit with JP Services, and you’ll see more signage for that than you will for HTS. Look for the black and gold decal on the far left window of unit 2. That will give you the confirmation that you’ve found the right place!
After finding it, I was able to sit down with Edgar and explain my problem in detail. After asking me one question (what’s the make and model?), he already knew what the solution was. WOW! He explained the specifics to me and all I could think was «OK, great… this is either unfixable or it’s going to cost me a fortune.», but to my relief, Edgar assured me he could fix it. Not only could he fix it, but it would only cost $ 89.00 and it would be ready in 24 — 48 hrs. AWESOME!
Edgar called me in LESS than 24 hrs and informed me that my laptop was ready to be picked up. Once I arrived, he explained to me and displayed pictures to me (that I’ve attached to this review) all the work he had done. I’m not going to bore anyone with the details but the point is, he got it done. QUICKLY and at an AFFORDABLE price point.

Glad I checked Unilocal when choosing a location to have my laptop repaired, the laptop felt wobbly when I opened the screen to use the computer. What sealed the deal for me were the awesome reviews I read over.
I live about 3 miles from the location so I drove out there, I had to call once I parked because I could not find the location– TIP: Unit 2 is some sort of legal office, Hi-​Tek is located in the same suite but in a small office within that office. Although there is a decal on the window that reads «Hi-​Tek Solutions» it’s rather easy to miss.
In any case, I walked in to Edgar’s office and he was super nice from the get go. I explained my problem, based on his experience and my specific concern he told me it would be one of two things but that to confirm he would need to open up the entire laptop, due to a time crunch type of situation I had to come back the next day. The following day I left my computer with him and a few hours later he called to give me an update– a part needed to be replaced.
He answered all the questions I had and gave me an ETA on the completion for the repair as well as the cost for the repair. Most importantly, he gave me options on part he could use to complete the repair; refurbished parts, new parts, etc and the financial cost associated with each– I chose to go with a new part and he went ahead and ordered it.
What made the biggest difference for me is that Edgar did his best to accommodate me every step of the way. I mentioned that I use my laptop for school and since it made no sense picking up the laptop before repairs were completed he kindly asked if I needed anything from my computer to complete any assignments and on the day repairs were to be completed he kept me posted on what time I could pick it up.
I was truly impressed at the level of professionalism conveyed by Edgar, and I really thank him for not pointing out that I was not best at returning his calls. I seriously recommend Edgar/​Hi-​Tek, my laptop is back to normal and I couldn’t be happier =)

Probably the best customer service I’ve had in a while. Edgar was really knowledgable on what he was doing and really knows how to communicate with the customer. He kept me up to date with what was going on and what my options were. I was expecting to spend a couple hundred dollars for the fix but was shocked at Edgar’s beyond reasonable prices. One last thing that caught me off guard was that Edgar, without me asking gave me the old defective part back in the box which the new one had come in. Keep up the good work Edgar!!!

I had been looking around for a computer shop around my area because I need my laptop to be completely restore and there was a problem with my webcam not working properly. Hi-​Tek Solutions have the best reviews & the closest to my house, so I go with them and I’m glad I did. The first time that I talked with Edgar over the phone, I know right away that he is the guy that I will go with. Over the phone, he seem to genuinely care about the problems that I am having and take his times telling me about the process, what he can do to fix my laptop, and the price quote over the phone, so kudos to him for that.
When I met Edgar in person, he was very nice and very knowledgeable about computer. I can asked him any questions about computer and he was able to give me real advice and answers, which I appreciated. He never seemed to be in a rushed and always taking his time to explained everything and what he had fixed & always updated his clients on the status of the repair by text, email, or phone call. As for price, he have the best price around the area, and I do know that for a fact, since I had called others stores for their quotes.
Lastly, I like how Edgar love doing what he does. He told me many times that fixing & dealing with computers is his passion, and he didn’t feel like it was a job. Based on that alone, I can trust that he will do a great job on the repair since he truly care about doing them. At the end, my laptop repair turned out to be a great experience. Edgar was able to solve all my laptop problems in a timely manner & my laptop seemed to be running faster and better than before. Based on the service that I had gotten from him, I will definitely go back when I have computer problems again & he will have me as a lifetime customer for sure. Opening your laptop and realizing your screen is cracked sucks! With no warranty, I searched high and low for computer laptop repair, called a couple places in my area and came across Hi Tek Solutions. Edgar was the only person to give me a quote over the phone, all he asked for was the brand and model number. Super friendly and helpful! I dropped off my laptop to him and in the same week got it back looking brand new. He’s Quick and he keeps you updated on how everything is going. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
