As a single mother of two boys, I felt compelled to rave about the service and fair pricing I receive at Steven Luzzi Automotive. It is a bumper to bumper repair shop with a family like atmosphere. The customer is greeted with a smile. I take 3 cars to Steve. This is the most honest automotive shop I have ever encountered. There are no hidden costs and they never try to sell services that are not required. All the technicians are friendly. They explain in full detail what our cars need for service or repairs. This shop supplies me with the best pricing available at the time of service. Their service is fast and efficient. I am confident in the craftsmanship that is applied to our cars. In my opinion, this is the best automotive repair shop in Southern California.

I was referred to Steve’s shop 2 years ago and I have been very impressed thus far. They’re honest, have excellent service, do good work, and charge reasonable prices.

Took my Infiniti to get serviced and they did an amazing job to get it fixed. Steve was very clear, and me not knowing anything about cars, explained everything to me. He’s a very honest man and won’t rip you off. I’m very satisfied with this place and I will certainly bring my car back here.

I was fed up with the quality of service at Pep Boys, so I decided to try out Steve’s. I AM SO PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF SERVICE STEVE AND HIS TEAM OFFERED. I took my car in for squeaking breaks (Pep Boys overlooked just months earlier), alignment (again, Pep Boys didn’t take care of this issue), and overheating (…come on PB!). They took my car under their care and serviced it in just a day. They drove my car around before they started working on it, worked on it, then drove it around town again to make sure everything was running smoothly. I was SO pleased with how my car was returned to me, this explanation can’t do it justice. If you are looking for friendly, experienced mechanics who are NOT in the business to rip you off just so you come back in a couple of months, GO HERE! They have a 12 month or 12,000 mi warranty on all their services. I am so reassured that my car will stay in the best of shape as I welcome my son into the world next month and he will be a passenger. I am so satisfied! :)

AMAZING! So pleased with the work he has done to my car. Very trustworthy, reliable, and professional. I’ve been having problems off and on with my car for months. My car has been in and out of other mechanics and I’ve been spending X amount of $$$ to get the problems solved with unsuccessful outcomes. It’s been frustrating to say the least. My dad took my car in and Steven knew exactly what needed to be fixed and did it within a reasonable cost. So happy and pleased with the outcome. I now feel safe again driving my little Scion. Boston Transmission recommended me to Steven Luzzi Automotive. Steven Luzzi and his staffs are very professional crew and they took care of my car (2010 VW Jetta Sport-​wagon). Also Steven only recommended services that my vehicle needs and repaired minor stuffs on my vehicle. The service area are very clean. Awesome! I am very happy with their services.

ADDENDUM: Downey is a CHARACTER COUNTS City and Steve exemplifies the integrity put forth in the six pillars of character. This past week, after servicing one of my vehicles, my son was about to pay and the proprietor, Steve, called to ask me to submit my discount coupon that he had mailed. I tucked it «somewhere.» He went ahead and subtracted the coupon amount, trusting me to discard said coupon.
My vehicles have never run better and that is what I ultimately care about.

We tried Steve Luzzi when my daughter’s Mini Cooper was finally off dealer warranty. He was so honest and fair in his dealings with us that I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have dealt with so many mechanics who assume I don’t know cars and throw technical jargon the way a lot of doctors throw medicalize to intimidate. Not so with Steve. He tells you what he found and what it will take to fix it. I had a confusing electrical problem that he diagnosed quickly and repaired just as quickly when, if dishonest, he could have easily told me it needed a new alternator easily. Bottom line, a very competent and honest man.

We came here for an alignment. About fourty-​five minutes after dropping off the car we were told the car needed a $ 20something dollar part for it to align properly and it would be $ 50 additional labor (new total $ 155). We agreed to the extra expense. Two hours after dropping the car off, we returned and were told that the technician broke our lug nut stud when removing the lug nut because it had rust on it. He said it was fine to drive with it missing but if we wanted it fixed, it would be a few dollars for the part and another $ 50 labor. I don’t know why I wasn’t notified of this when it happened. And I’m wondering if it was actually broken from putting the lug nut on it and maybe tightened too much. I don’t feel comfortable with the way it was handled and I wouldn’t want to authorize yet another repair for them to break something else and offer to fix it for x amount.

I have nothing but praise for the way Steve runs his business. He is completely customer-​oriented, from keeping excellent maintanance records to even supplying rides home for stranded customers while they wait for their cars. My family has gone to Steve for years now and I completely trust him with my own car.

When you find a mechanic you can trust, I believe you stick with him. And Steve Luzzi is my guy.
Pros:
1.) Honesty. Steve runs a reputable shop and he won’t try to sell you unnecessary repairs.
2.) Straight shooters. While they’ll let you know what services your car would benefit from, they won’t make things sound more urgent than necessary.
3.) Good work. My car always runs like a champ after leaving their yard.
4.) Shuttle service. They have a driver to shuttle you to work or home, and then pick you up again. (Don’t be too proud to ask.)
Cons:
1.) Price. They’re not the cheapest place in town, but in all honesty their prices are fair. I’ve found that when it comes to auto repair, you usually get what you pay for.

Steven Luzzi, he’s reasonable and honest. I was referred to him by a transmission shop. I started going to him because I was screwed by 2 other mechanics «fixing» and breaking things that had nothing wrong and have been with him since. I took my car in 2 weeks ago because I thought something was wrong he gave it back the same day saying there were no issues and did not charge. My dad and sister now go to him too because he does a great job.

I started taking my car to Steven Luzzi about a year ago. They were professional & the shop was very clean. My car is running in tip top shape and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a relief to have a local mechanic I can trust and rely on. Excellent service! Thank you Steven Luzzi!

I’ve been taking my car to Steve for years. I find him competent, trustworthy, and reliable. He tells me what I need to have done, what I don’t need to have done, and what I can put off until a more convenient or affordable time. I can stop by if I just have a question, and he’s always helpful.
His prices are reasonable, and he sends out coupons regularly. He finishes the work on time, and he provides rides. You can drop off your car after hours, so that they can get started first thing in the morning.
I’ve referred all of my friends to Steve, and everyone is as happy with him as I am.

He runs a good shop and I have found him to be reliable and genuinely helpful. He has always done what he said he would do and hasn’t recommended unnecessary work.

Took my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for AC service and to diagnose a rough running engine. Dropped her off with Steve at 9 am and she was ready by noon! We didn’t even have an appointment! Great place! This was our first time there and I believe I’ve found a new repair shop! Thank you Joe from Boston Transmission for referring me!
