I’ve gotten maybe 3 waxes my entire life. this one being my 3^rd. I walked in at 10:05 and walked out at 10:35. My esthetician was Nimita. She’s good. She works fast and efficiently. She works fast, so if you’re looking for someone to spend their time on you, she might not be your best bet.
I got a Brazilian. Front and back. There was no hair left when she was done. Note: it’s been a while. So she did a good job of removing everything up front which is great. I do wish she took more off back though.
I am very sensitive and because of how long it’s been it did hurt a bit because my hairs were long, but nothing out of the ordinary. There were tiny trickles of blood, but again, it’s been a while and I am super sensitive. But other that, Nimita is good in my book and I will return.

I hesitate to begin. I requested Dipa. I didnt get her. I instead got the aame woman who i had last time (Mira). Though she was very nice and pleasant she didnt do a great job. She had to go over same spots several times, and told me my hair was too tough to get out. I dont know what that means but i felt leaving like I had done something wrong. I left with many bits of wax on my skin and shirt. I really wanted this to be a pleasant experience but after not getting dipa– who i had requested — I felt duped and after giving Mira another try– im sadly dissapointed. Super red, super painful.

This place is great, if you book with one of the more experienced waxers. Once I was asked if I had a preferred aesthetician and having never had a bad experience I said no, whomever was available (the person I usually book with was unavailable). I was assigned someone who had been waxing for less than a year and it definitely showed! She had to go over areas far too many times and would not wait long enough for wax to dry before pulling causing a painful experience. When she showed me the finished version with a mirror it was as if ²⁄₃ of the hair had not been touched! I had to ask for a more experienced aesthetician to complete the waxing. I was reassigned to Dipa immediately and she was incredibly quick and thorough!
The studios are very clean and private and the front desk is always very polite and attentive. Despite the one bad experience, is is still my regular place. Just now I know not all the aestheticians are equally as efficient!

Wanted to love this place, but after further review, I can’t… at least not this time around.
A friend of mine recommended this place, so I came. I love the set up. It’s hyper hygienic and sanitary, and the bed positioning is great. It’s literally not like your run-​of-​the-​mill wax shack.
Laura, my esthetician, was very sweet. We talked and laughed; it was great. However, A few days after my wax, I noticed that the hair was rapidly growing back on my labia majora. You know what that means — the hair was snapped, instead of pulled from the follicle. And it’s in more than one area. *Le sigh*
I really wanted to love this place. I liked the wax a lot, and how they did on the tushy, so I’ll probably come back. Still disappointing, though.

Typically, I wouldn’t leave a poor review, I usually have a pretty god experience at this location (Payal and Dipa are great!) but today that’s changed. I’m not sure if there’s something in the air this week with businesses not being able to keep up with their appointments – but I digress. I had a 6:15pm appt time. I arrived at 6:05. It is now 6:35pm and I’m STILL waiting! People have come in after me, have been see, left and I’m STILL here. I asked the receptionist what was going on and got «uh, she’ll be with you in 2 minutes.» That was 5 minutes ago. Yes, I’m being petty because this is RIDICULOUS! Will I be offered a discount for the wait and in professionalism? Of course not! If it weren’t so late and I didn’t need the wax, I surely would have walked out. While the actual waxing service isn’t bad, the customer service is.
P. S. As I’m typing another customer is having a heated discussion with the staff about the poor customer service!

I go here regularly to see Laura for all my waxing. She’s the best; makes me feel comfortable and fast and efficient. I used to have problems with ingrown hairs whenever I got any waxing done. Ever since I started getting waxed by Laura, I haven’t had one since. I highly recommend requesting her.

Have been going to this place ever since they first opened but this past Saturday I’ve had it with uni k. As a company they are great, clean and overall get the job done but Laura is a very unpleasant wax lady.
Mind you I booked my appointment online and requested someone other than Laura due to a bad experience with her in the past but somehow I’m assuming the receptionist disregarded my waxing specialist request and put me with Laura since she was not booked (I’m assuming due to her bad attitude and lack of waxing experience). In the past a few months prior to October 2015 I had Laura service me and she was unpleasant, rough and downright careless. Nothing’s Changes because during my Wax session this past Saturday she was still unpleasant in greeting me, actually was burning me and being very sloppy with the wax and pulled off a piece of my skin during my Brazilian!!! You can only imagine how bad that felt and how upset I was when I saw my skin missing when I got home. To make matters worse she didn’t even tell
Me what was happening and acted as if she has an attitude when I asked for a ice pack after my waxing session. Like cmon I can’t get a damn ice pack after paying $ 55 for a Bikin wax?
This lady really needs some training in customer service and to go back to the uni k waxing academy because she clearly does not know how to properly give a Brazilian, my underarms came out fine and my stomach strip was a waste being she left hair there. I’m
Not sure what her deal is but no matter how bad I’m in need of a wax I will NEVER return to her. I’ll just wait for my usual Dip or Nimita who are A++++ wax specialist. Besides Laura aka the rough wax lady from hell I say give uni k a try and request Dipa or Nimita. I notice Dipa and Nimita also work out of the cooper square location so I may just book over there next time and avoid the Brooklyn heights location all together!

It’s hard to find a place that understands that my sensitive-​skin and low-​tolerance-​for-​pain self needs tender, patient care. And the staff at Uni K Wax Center gets that. That’s why they are my go-​to place for a Brazilian wax in Brooklyn. I also find their waxing technique to be a bit superior to many other places I’ve visited in the borough. So yeah, I highly recommend this place-​for all of your waxing needs. Just be sure to make an appointment ahead of time.

Best waxing experience ever — nearly painless, clean, fast and the hair grows back slower and without irritation. Only going here from now on.

I use to go to the one on 18^th st but I was sooo happy to know they open one near to my house… I was skeptical about having someone else doing the job. So when I called I asked for the one person that’s very good and the person recommended some one named Pyal and I booked her. When I went there it’s was spotless and that’s each and every time I go there… It smells great. Costumer service is wonderful… Then when I met Pyal she was so sweet and very pleasant… She did her job very well. A told her I had just had a baby by csection so please be gentle and she was. And always is… She’s the best at what she does. Uni k wax is the best.

I wish they had this place in San Francisco! I found them on Unilocal (when I was visiting NYC) and it was the best decision ever. I love the wax they make/​use and it wasn’t too painful.

Been back every month since this review and I still have no complaints! If anyone is wondering who to book with I always use Nimita or Dipa!

This place is definitely an amazing secret. I don’t know why I didn’t come here earlier. I have been going to places all over manhattan only to be left bloody, in pain, and with strays! I’m sorry, but as females we go through too much with a wax for there to be left over hair, that’s just pure laziness and lack of skill. Make sure your waxer is certified, you would be surprised by how many ‘waxers’ don’t know what they are doing and are just winging it to get your money. Shady boots business– but enough of that this is a review for Uni k in Brooklyn Heights.

My only issue with them is their pricing. For a full Brazilian with everything they still leave out your inner thigh and stomach trail line (if you have one). Why wouldn’t you just add it into the price and make $ 55 the set price for EVERYTHING? Who is going to walk out with hair still on their inner thigh but not on their bikini line? Just add it on automatically so I’m not being told I’m getting charged extra while getting hair ripped out of my body. Also the prices online do not match the prices in house; that really should be updated for people who bring cash, I was 10 dollars short and had to use my card which all would have been avoided if the prices were updated. This isn’t enough for me not to come back but it is frustrating, and the reason why I took one star off.
Besides that everything else is amazing. The establishment is clean and relaxing from the moment you walk in. They have brochures, water, and spa products for purchase. The administrative team warmly greet you and check you in. It was my first time and I wasn’t given anything to fill out. I did get a 10% discount though, which was nice (.55 cents off)
My waxer was Dipa. She greeted me and led me back to our room. Clean and bright room with a certification on the wall. A fan blowing right on you to cool wax down and keep you comfortable. She gave me a moment to undress and a cleansing wipe to freshen up– which is amazing b/​c no other place I’ve been to has had that. Dipa was friendly, fast, and so informative. You get your own little package of wax which they dip into, once they are done they throw it away. You never use anyone else’s wax, thank goodness. Now that I think about it I don’t know how I survived going to any other place, so unsanitary. The wax took all of 15 minutes and was the most painless wax I have ever had. I kept preparing myself for excruciating pain, but not once did it hurt, not even the sensitive areas. Dipa explained how the wax attaches to your hair follicles only and not your skin, which is why it is so painless. Once finished, she iced and aloed me up. I couldn’t believe how clean and smooth everything was. Absolutely the best wax I have ever had.
If you need any type of wax– Go here. Their methods and products are just better, period. Dipa was amazing and I will always go to her. They cater to men and women, no discrimination and wax the entire body– every single body part you can think of (cough cough). Make this your new waxing place, you wont be sorry.

I am not really one to write a bad review on Unilocal but I truly had one of the worst experiences getting waxed today with Mira at this location.
This is not my first wax with Uni K. I normally go to the flatiron location and be sure to see Pratima who is AMAZING. In the end I decided this newer location in Brooklyn was more convenient since it’s closer to my apartment.
I had originally made an appt online requesting I get Laura after all the great reviews she’s received on Unilocal,but didn’t get her when I came in.
Mira did not give me what I asked for, which was a Brazilian with a strip of trimmed down hair in the front. She left a large (very) uneven circle of longer hair, and by the time she was finished there were patches of skin that still had hair and wax EVERYWHERE. When she was finished I sat up to check out her work and when I got up I noticed crumbs of wax and hair were attached to my bum! Not good. Not normal.
Her technique did not work for me. It didn’t feel thorough and well practiced. It felt drawn out with bad results. In short I walked out paying money for something that left me feeling awful. I’m really bummed! My skin is very irritated and I won’t ever come back to this location again.

Really pleasant experience with Payal. She was friendly and maintained professional. It was clean, quick, and moderately priced. I’d definitely return. I recommend coming in with an appointment; as I was waiting on my friend to finish her services there was constant traffic and everyone had appointments. Ohh, they also have a 14 day touch ups with a selection of services and a loyalty program which is a great! This was my first time using Uni-​K Wax and I received a 10% new customer discount that I didn’t expect and who doesn’t love a discount! Happy Waxing! :-)

This place is fantastic! I can’t believe how much I had been spending on Brazilians ($ 70+) before I came here. I saw Dimita for a Brazilian and not only was she very sweet, she was fast and it was mostly painless. Plus they take walk ins. The prices here are very affordable and the facility is clean.

The best waxing place I’ve been too! The place is clean and professional. You can tell when you walk in. As a first time customer, they asked me to fill up a form, like I were walking into a doctor’s place. It feels weird at first, but it makes sense, as the form asks if you have allergy or some disease or treatment that should not do waxing. Now I wonder why the other places don’t ask.
The best part of it is they did not try to push me to do other things. I came here for the one service, and if I needed anything else, I’d have asked. Free from the hard sale, I feel quite realized when enjoying the service.
BTW, they can make appointments online and have a loyalty program. I am definitely coming back.

I got my first Brazilian wax by Laura who was so patient and very professional. I was so nervous about it but Laura walked me through everything and I no longer had any worries. Also it was quick. I love the results, it’s a gentle wax and it wasn’t painful as most people would describe it to be. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Writing a review on a waxing place is a sensitive subject (lol) but in honor of sisterhood I shall. This place is great for all body waxing needs. Its clean, affordable, quick, and as painless as it gets. The staff here is friendly and they usually can accommodate walk ins. Ladies if your new to waxing I recommend Uni K Wax

Went to Dipa who came highly recommended. The only downside to the appointment is that she was running behind and I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Otherwise great service, very clean, nice staff.
