History

Established in 1960.

In 1960 a young Vernon Houpt was dispatched to Doylestown from the family lumber and coal businesses in Glenside and Hatboro to scout out a new location. He negotiated a lease on 6 acres of farmland at the north end of town and opened for business.

Gone are the days of lumber traveling up Main Street on forktrucks from the rail station but the trademarks of quality, service, craftsmanship and caring continue as strong as ever.
