I have been going to Ryan’s Hairstyling since it was Shear Magic on Lakeview Ave where Bobola’s is now. Then it was Ryan’s Hairstyling in the RK Plaza. Throughout that time it has always been run as a family business that has a professional but friendly atmosphere. I’ve had a dozen or two different girls cut my hair. But during three different time periods stuck with the same hairstylist for several years until they apparently moved on from the business. I’ve always experienced a polite, professional, and friendly environment when getting my haircut there. I would guess it has been over 30 years I have been going to Shear Magic/Ryan’s Hairstyling. I go every 4 – 6 weeks, so that would be about 300 times I’ve gone to Ryan’s. I think in those 30 years I have visited another salon only four times, and it was because Ryan’s was either closed or I wasn’t in the area. On all four occasions I received a haircut I didn’t like. I currently see Tina when I go to Ryan’s and have requested her or chose my ‘walk-in’ without an appointment during times when I know she is working. She always spends an extra amount of time and energy cutting my hair to make sure I like how she did it. I believe she has been a hairdresser for over 25 years, but she still has a rare enthusiasm for ensuring she gives a meticulous and cared for cut that the customer(me) is happy with. I recommend going to see Tina or several of the other friendly hairdressers there who I embarrassingly never remember the names of. I’d highly recommend Ryan’s Hairstyling if you live in the area and are looking for a good place to get a cut.

I have had my hair cut at this place about a dozen times. Always satisfied with the girls who have cut my hair. The guy behind the front register running the place is a real piece of work. On more than one occasion, I have heard him degrade and even yell at his employees. He has done it several times and does not hide his bizarre behavior at all. His temper seems to be very short and I don’t know how anyone could work for a person like that. After the last time I heard him yell and put one of the girls down, that was it. I’ll never give money to that jerk again. One of my sisters friends actually worked there for about a week and left soley because of his dictatorship style of «management». The man who runs this joint really is shameless.

I highly recommends Ryan’s! The staff is very helpful, they listen to your concerns and what you want from your visit. I have never been disappointed.

I have been going to Ryan’s for over 15 years. It is the people and the good haircuts that keep me coming back. Everyone in the place are friends to me, Barry, the owner, Christa his daughter along with Tina, Lil and the rest of the girls are friendly and professional. I have my hair cut every 3 weeks and they always ask me how I would like it and my standard answer is just like it was 3 weeks ago. I would not be going back there every three weeks for 15 years if I was not happy with the place. Also, I did not mention Julie, who 3 years ago gave me a number 3 haircut, that I have not had since I was 10, it was summer and I thought it would be different. Julie made sure by asking me 3 times if I was sure I wanted this. Great place for a family or men and women. Great people and great results

My friends, family, and I have all been clients for 20+ years, since they were located further up the street. Family owned and operated, lots of time and effort has been placed into making the facility a warm and welcoming modern salon with well trained stylists offering sensibly priced options for women, men, and children alike. I have no idea where«K M.» went, but they definitely didn’t go here!

NO no no! Unless you have traveled here from 1985, do not enter! This was the most stressful hair experience I have ever had. I had a man I assumed to be Ryan(?) do my hair. He was reprimanding his stylists and yanking on my hair and then made me look like a girl in a Poison video. The stylist who did my moms hair told her she didn’t have time to blow-dry and style her hair, so she’d have to do it at home. WHAT?!
