Maggie O’Neill’s

We are Maggie’s regulars because we find the food and the atmosphere excellent. The waitstaff and bartenders are smart and attentive and the food is tasty and prepared perfectly. If you want good food and friendly service Maggie’s is your place! Another great feature is the live music at Maggie’s which includes something for everyone, young hipsters to boomers. Irish First Fridays and the great entertainment of Oliver McElhone on Tuesday nights as well as acoustic music and rock groups on a regular basis. Come on out !

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat before a show at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby. Inside & outside had a good Irish bar feel, may be a little on the dark side inside but not a big deal. First bar tender was ok because he was eager to get off his shift but still friendly. Next bar tender was fine as well. I ordered the Pub Sampler to try a little bit of a few items. The cheesesteak egg roll & the sulley shrimp were very good. The pretzel bites & the buffalo chicken eggroll were decent as well. I would go back if I was in the area again.

I was looking for some good fish & chips and figured an Irish pub would be a good place to go. Was very disappointed with the fish, I think Mrs. Paul’s might be better. My wife had the lemon butter salmon which was also very mediocre to bad and she left a third of it without eating. The salmon was not fresh. I think it’s easy to conclude that they don’t serve fresh fish. My wife also said the mashed potatoes didn’t taste good. On a good note we had friendly, prompt service and the Guinness was pretty good.

Stumbled across this delightful establishment looking to try something new and exciting and boy oh boy I found it… The atmosphere was vibrant and full of excitement with patrons looking to past the time doing what they love, drinking, eating and taking in a good game. I ordered the Irish Beef Stew cause I wanted to try something traditional and I must say I was not disappointed. The food was exceptional. I ate all of it only because it was necessary. I couldn’t let a drop go to waste. I recommend thus restaurant to anyone that’s will to jump into a whole new world of Irish delight. Can’t wait to come back!

What Irish pub doesn’t have darts fake ass Irish pub haven’t heard one Irish song, oh but they have Guinness so I guess that makes it an Irish pub, morons. the beer is expensive for this place and location and watch out for cops.

Went there on a Sunday with the family and friends. They had a band playing and it was so loud we could not hear each other talk. The food was ok, but the atmosphere killed it for us.

Popped in here for St. Pats days weekend. The food is average. However, I liked the décor and the feel of the place. It’s a solid 3 star.

We met up with family here for dinner on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed! I had the ocean bounty (two generous pieces of perfectly seasoned cod topped with cracker crumbs and sitting atop slices of tomato). The cod was moist and tender with a great flavor. It was accompanied by tender fresh asparagus and homemade tasting mashed potatoes. Our dinner companions had the shepherds pie, fish and chips and onion soup steak. We were all very happy with our entrees. Portions were sizable and satisfying. Our server was attentive and we also had a visit from the manager, Larry. Great dinner and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely return! I am not a beer drinker but our family was happy with the large selection. Awesome music by Two for the Road!

Great place for drinks. The price is t bad. Some nights are very crowed and there is some nights where it is empty. The staff is nice and the food is good. They have good specials throughout the week and weekend. The music is good too.

Went for lunch cause we wanted to catch the Holy War, turns out there was a SJU watch party. Fantastic they had complimentary appetizers. I got to sample some eggrolls and pretzel bites before ordering. For lunch I had the egg roll sampler which consisted of buffalo chicken and cheesesteak. They were fantastic. So were the pretzels with cheese in the middle. I never thought to order food here being that it is an Irish pub. Believe me they are now on my radar on where to get some small bites while taking in a game. Plus the 20% Unilocal check in is a nice added bonus. Can’t wait to go back again for some apps and a few cold ones.

This is a genuine Irish Pub with Guiness Stout, Gaelic beers & fine grub.
It is at the Pilgrim Gardens Plaza strip Mall, one of the older ones that has been redone, off of State Road, but it is well worth it.
We’ve been here for lunch on a few occasions and the atmosphere is quiet & relaxing, the food is quite good, and my wife can get the kind of genuine dark stout she truly craves.
The service is professional – experienced staff, not kids – and everything is first rate. Its a bar with food, not a restaurant with spirits, but given that, its one heck of a restaurant for a bar with food.

Nice place to go for a pint. I usually get the pub sampler when I am with friends, always a solid choice. This time I got some soup instead and then later the Shepherd’s Pie. I was very impressed, completely filled. The Guinness is done right and they have some decent Scotch there too. I love the décor. When I was in Dublin I loved places like this. It brings me back to a happy place; the wife and I visit here a few times a year. It’s always a treat.

Maggie’s is definitely an «acquired taste».
I’m not sure why Maggie O’Neill’s even bothers making food anymore, it’s just that terrible.
It’s very loud, cliquey, and can be quite uncomfortable at times. The hostesses are never very polite, and the last time I was there I got something called the «buffalo chicken soup». Wow, absolutely atrocious. It wasn’t even soup, it was just the buffalo sauce that drips off a buffalo chicken cheesesteak. Two bites and I was gagging.
The seating arrangements also leave much to be desired. You’re cramped in like sardines on the main floor.
Maggie’s used to be fun and actually have edible food. There used to be hostesses that would acknowledge your presence and bartenders that would serve good drinks.
Sadly, that is no longer the case.
So, if you’re looking for barely edible food and loud drunken «bro’s» screaming at a tv screen while you try to talk to the person you came there with, by all means, enjoy. Otherwise, maybe try to find another place. It may just not be for you.

I was craving a corned beef special, and was pleasantly surprised. I haven’t been here in years, but decided to go for a quick bite.
Our waitress was great! The staff was friendly and attentive.
Prices were good, décor was nice. Music was playing, but not too loud.
My corned beef special was great and the bread was soooo fresh!
I will be back to try the cheese steak egg rolls!

I never really was to interested in this place until recently. It was always so so in my mind.
But I’ve been going there more and more often lately. Their food, esp the potato soup, has me coming back! I’ve tried appetizers, sandwiches and salads and haven’t been disappointed.
It’s also non smoking which I love! I don’t leave the pub smelling like cigarette smoke.
I servers can be a little slow but it’s a relaxing place so it never bothered me.
I’m a huge craft beer fan, however I’m not always impressed with their selections. I think they could definitely improve on that area. More IPA’s would be good, and maybe another stout besides Guinness.
I don’t like the upstairs at all, it seems to be all younger drinkers up there. But that’s nice bc it’s separated.
It’s a favorite spot to go to with friends on the weekends. It’s a great atmosphere and is becoming my spot to go to. Good job Maggie’s!

A low-​key, warm and inviting Irish pub hidden behind the usually buzzing Chickie’s and Pete’s. Even though we paid only $ 1 (not including tip) thanks to a Groupon I would have happily paid full price for our food. Excellent French onion soup and wings that beat C&P’s out of the park (seriously!) The service was friendly and attentive.
The only downside is the parking. That huge lot next to the building is deceiving as it’s reserved for C&P’s (trust me — we parked there originally then got yelled at by someone) but you can probably find a spot right outside Maggie’s entrance.

I find I can never really go wrong with Irish Pubs– Maggie O’Neill’s is no exception.
This evening, when I found myself trapped in the suburbs of Philadelphia I opted to forgo the hustle and bustle of the «crabby» sports bar next store and settle into Maggie O’Neill’s for a little draft Harp and Shepherd’s Pie. Overall, I was really happy with the place– the food was good and the service was quick and very personable. The «20% off your food bill» check-​in was also a major plus! I know the irish aren’t exactly known for their food but Maggie O’Neill’s gives it justice. I’m already looking forward to my next pint of Harp so I can try out some more food at this place!

After circling around a one-​way street, in what otherwise looked like a strip mall, and round back again, looking for parking, I finally was able to stop in this place.
Nice Irishey pub; all the wood panelling is divided into segments along the bar, so it makes for less seats at the bar, and makes the place seem smaller than what it is. The fish and chips were pretty good, and they have a nice selection of food. As has been said in other reviews, vegetarians should beware: there really aren’t many options for you, other than the aforementioned fish and chips, and a veggie burger.
The tap list is pretty good, not just budmillercoors, but had a few Irish staples, Guiness, Harp, and one or two others. They also had a few micro’s as well, plus a cider. So, not exactly a beer haven, but there’s a good chance you’ll find something you like. Non-​smoking.

Maggie O’Neills is a very cool Irish Pub in Drexel. At a friends recommendation we stopped in here for a few pints last Thursday night before heading into the city for a concert. We ended up staying for dinner.
There was ample seating so we ponied up the wooden bar and ordered our beers. I know this may sound silly but damn it’s nice to be in a place that knows how to pour a Guinness.
The menu is large, varied and competitively priced. There are plenty of traditional Irish meals such as Bangers and Mash all the way to regional favorites like the Cheesesteak. Since I was visiting the area, I went with the Cheeseteak.
The kitchen in my opinion was a little slow, especially since the restaurant wasn’t crowded. However when the food did come out it was delicious and the serving size was generous. Picture enclosed.
I’m really looking forward to returning here on a future trip to the area. Check them out!
