New Appearances

I used to go here when I was younger and my recent visit reminded me why i had stopped. I made a last minuet appointment because I just couldn’t take my roots any longer, the stylist seemed irritated that I was even there. I had some blond peek-​a-​boo color that i wanted covered and knew it would probably fade faster than the rest of my hair but I had stressed to her that I was concerned about it all being covered. I then gave her the formula a use on my hair (jet black), nothing complicated, and i used to be a hair dresser so I know what I’m talking about. I found out afterwards she used 2 shades lighter than that I had asked and when I do my hair I find patched of blond that were never even touched by the color.
The cut was no better, I had asked to keep the length and wanted it choppy and fun, instead i got a solid line across my back and a few layers. Again I used to do hair so I know how to explain what i want. She also blew my hair dry into a frizzie poof and let me leave the salon that way! I will NEVER go back here and do not recommend it to anyone

For over 20 years I have been getting great haircuts from Bobbie at New Appearances.

I’ve been going to Linda (the owner) for over 15 years. There’s a reason – she knows what looks good on me, and she knows what I want, even when I don’t. I usually have no problem getting an appointment with her, and everyone who works there is very friendly and casual. I can’t speak for the other stylists because I’ve only ever gone to Linda, but if they’re half as good as she is, then they’re awesome.
Most times, I’ve gone for a cut and have been happy every time. A couple times, I got a perm, and that was also great. They offer lots of other treatments too. HIGHLY recommended. The only thing is it’s a little expensive ($ 30 for wash, cut, and blowdry) for a recent college grad, at least. If I just need a trim, I’ll go to Hair Cuttery, but when I want a new style or something emulated from a picture, it’s Linda I go to every time.

followed Denisia to this new salon. On my first visit, the place was hopping on a Saturday morning, but I was attended to as if I was an old friend and had been coming there for years. Denisia really does listen to all that you want and consults with you before she does anything (which I find rare in a busy salon). Perfect precision cut. I have found my new salon!
