Elegant Oasis is a duo acoustic project which primarily plays classic jazz, Latin, swing, gypsy jazz, and some contemporary selections. The sound of Elegant Oasis is derived from the tonal quality of nylon-​stringed acoustic guitars. While many jazz and swing projects use steel-​stringed instruments, Elegant Oasis prefers to use this traditional type of guitar for its rich and ambient sound.

Elegant Oasis is based out of Dripping Springs Texas, but will travel to your event if it is in or around the greater Austin area.

Jon and Rachel S.

Business Owner

Jon Simpson and Rachel Savoie have been playing together for many years, and both teach and perform professionally in both Austin and Dripping Springs.

Rachel began playing guitar when she was about 13 years old. Her early influences included many acoustic folk and classic rock artists. Not long afterwards, she started taking her passion for guitar further and proceeded with her playing life with an electric guitar. She has devoted many years to furthering herself as a guitarist and musician, and has been fortunate to play many shows in the central Texas area.

Jon began to play guitar just before his 12^th birthday. Jon’s first influence was heavily blues based, later finding influences from many other genres such as flamenco, rock, jazz, metal, classical, techno, reggae, country and more. He has also been fortunate enough to perform all over Texas and in Europe. Jon has spent his life studying music, and earned a Bachelors performance degree in Jazz from Texas State University.
